I have to admit, I've never been a particularly big fan of Harry Potter, either the books or movies, but this definitely has potential. Depending on the effort put into the game, the gameplay alone could make this a worthwhile purchase. Where it has the potential to really shine is in the story and its characters. It'll be interesting to see what they develop and show us, in the coming months.

Assuming, "accio" is the latin word (transl. I summon) it is pronounced "akio", as in Latin "C" is generally pronounced "K". I.e. "Caesar" is pronounced "Kaisar".
Well-written HP fanfiction is one of my guilty pleasures, I stumbled onto it by chance a few years ago after not really caring about the franchise at all for many years. Not sure I'll play the game, but I think it probably has huge potential, several generations have such a big connection to this universe and more of them play games now than ever before.
You may want to try your hand at playing this game when it comes, what with you loving Harry Potter so much and this gearing up to be the ultimate Potter game.
If you're a Harry Potter nerd, I sincerely hope you get to play this game, even if it's in secret. To live in, explore and especially interact in that world first hand would be amazing. It's one I'm looking forward to.
The Shrieking Shack may be in the game. But it's set in 1890 so it won't be known as The Shrieking Shack, that didn't happen until Remus enrolled at Hogwarts in 1971. Same reason the Whomping Willow won't be there.
I haven't been following the game, but I do remember playing the first few Harry Potter games. A trend I've seen in the Harry Potter games which has disappointed me is that the later in the series the games go, the more the focus shifts to combat. The very first game I think was mostly a puzzle-platforming game, with occasional challenges like playing the right music to put Fluffy to sleep, or hiding from the Bloody Baron, or choosing the right potion to get through the wall of fire right before getting to the Mirror of Erised at the end of the story. On one hand, I hope this is an extensive role-playing experience, with lots of dialogue options and a branching narrative. On the other hand, I'm really expecting something like Shadow of War - another WB game set in the Lord of the Rings universe, where the storytelling could be very interesting and engaging, but meaningful narrative decisions were practically nonexistent, and the actual game part of the game was nothing but combat. Even as someone who plays video games, I was also bored be that one combat-focused section of the video. I'm certain that an entire game built around that combat system would bore me. The character relationships gave me a bit of hope, but they were too quickly glossed-over to really convince me. Lastly, Hannah, I think that since the character creator excited you, you should check out www.reddit.com/r/VirtualCosplay. There's a pretty strong community of people just using the limited in-game tools to recreate their favorite characters or celebrities. I'm kind of one of those people myself - I always end up making an avatar of my girlfriend, and sometimes other friends too. My friends are usually impressed how I manage to capture the one or two unique features they each have in order to make them recognizable in all sorts of art styles.
That you're a big harry potter fan but so set on not trying this yourself is neat. The dynamic of enjoying a world vs not wanting a particular medium is an interesting interaction to see in different people. Makes me curious what would make hanna want to play a game no matter what.
I noticed you asked about the the shrieking shack it doesn't exist yet, it was developed specifically to cover for Lupins time at the school this was set in 1890 about 2 years before dumbledore started school
Hmmm I guess I thought the willow wasn't there but the shack was. A mistake on my part, but also I feel like it's a haunted house that's only 20 years old? *Deep sigh* I need to not think about it too much.
The plot hole you mentioned isn't necessarily a plot hole, just not talked about in the books, or possibly other official channels. What makes you assume Hogwarts is the only school in UK. I always saw it as the elite school for the upper class, as well as scholarship students. That is why just about everyone you meet is an heir of some sort, or muggleborn. So there's probably a bunch of other smaller schools that maybe only go to OWLs since that's all you need. Plus there is the fact that Hogwarts used to have more students, which is why it is quite a bit bigger than necessary in the current generation, but through recent wars a lot of families went dark and died off.
Hey hannah! awesome to see you are enjoying harry potter, I have 5 suggestions for the next vids! warhammer: the horus heresy (its warhammer we know what this is about :P) and the next ones are all from star citizen! Imagine: star citizen, the Squadron 42: cinematic teaser, the Admiral bishop senate speech and last What is Star Citizen?
As far as i know its A-KIO not A-SCIO, they say A-KIO in the movies, and in the danish translated HP Audiobook they say it with a K sound as well so I will assume that Acio is prounounced with a K sound rather than a C/S sound.
That is not a cat, it is a Kneazle. Fly out into the country side (game play map is estimated to be 36 sq.Km (possibly 36 sq.Miles?)) and capture several adult Kneazles, put them in your vivarium and see if little baby kitten Kneazles show up.
No idea what the gameplay or story will be like, but dang did they nail the fantasy of being a student at Hogwarts at least. This is a fan made passion project, only it's official.
Not long come across your channel, but your reactions amuse me! Lol Not cool to be a Harry Potter Fan there's loads of fans but bless you for staying true to your Nerdiness! ...... I'm more of a Tolkien fan so....Elves, Hobbits & Orcs for me!! 😁 And no-one ever separates the art from the artist these days world we live in Lass!! For better or for worst...
Years ago i was close to read all the tolkien saga, but i read summaries that tolkien was like churchill, and plus adding that nonsense that current times is like 7th era, meaning tolkiean treats asia and africa similar like lands of mordor, cut off my rising fanatism.
Isn't part of the knowledge though excepting the era it was written and how far we've come now as people when we notice descriptions etc that are out of place nowadays. Don't think it takes away something being a good read. I'm not gonna agree with everyone's view but if they create something beautiful or interesting to me it won't stop me appreciating it! I can separate them both I feel!
Usually, Harry Potter spells come from Latin. So, "Accio" would be pronounced "Akio" (not sure how to spell pronounciation), which means "I summon" or "I call".
question is, what is the correct latin pronounciation ? Is there even one, as langage never really stops changing ? In modern latin languages, like French, Accio sounds "aksio", and iirc, in italian there's a weird rule about the pronounciation of "c", if there is one it's "s", if there is two it's "che" (or the opposite, don't remember), and it's ch that sounds "k", so accio would sound like "ashio", "atshio", or "asio". I guess, as vocally casting spells is more here to help beginners, the way you pronounce it doesn't really matter, as long as ou know what you're doing and how you channel the magic through you mind. But it's a fun topic, that could have been a fun interaction, let's say, during Goblet of Fire, between three nerdy student of each school.
I mean I like Harry Potter books and the story itself isn't bad at all but when I read them after almost 10 years, I realised how incredibly insane some things in that universe are.
Its a children's book... Honestly half of what happens in these doesn't make a lick of sens, half of the characters and their decision making are moronic at best, and common sens is apparently something that Wizards can't figure out... Voldemort is the lamest villain of all, Dude turned himself into a Lich, and STILL managed to lose to a bunch of 15yro's that uses WANDS to cast Lam-O spells... It was entertaining, and i agree that it is one of the biggest saga of cinema history, but if you think about it more than 12 secs, everything falls apart really quickly...
9:04 apparently wandless magic is or can be just as if not more powerful than wand magic. I believe that wandless magic can be dangerous… since if you cast a spell and it goes wrong, blows up your wand… no harm no foul, get a new wand…. If your wandless magic fails…. You ain’t getting a new arm. However… it’s obviously WAY more practical. The African exchange student you befriend in the school is able to use wandless magic, but has grown to appreciate the dramatics with wand magic. Wand magic, being easier to work with and direct spells. I imagine wandless magic requires the user to picture exactly what they want to cast on otherwise unlike a wand which you point at what you want, it can be unpredictable or dangerous. …they’re also animagi…. And Natty is an animagi… secretly of course.
Some fanfic claimed that almost two thirds of employed Wizards in the UK must be working for the Ministry of Magic. After all none of them work in industry or resource gathering or mass transportation, except maybe a hand full.
I always though it was (Ahk-Kee-oo) because i though the root word it was based on was acquire.Thats why i cant see it as (ahh-see-oo) because i am unsure what the word it would based on
I was watching some analysis of this movie. And so the author later noticed that a being treated with avada kedavra was supposedly a goblin. And goblins have no rights (to life). So it was perfectly legal under wizard law to cast this spell. xD
Wandless maguc isn't inferior to wand magic, it's just harder to master, that's why not a lot of people can do it. It's said that Dumbledore could do certain forms of wandless magic.
Hannah, I know you mainly watch trailers, but just this once, you should watch someone play the game. Maybe livestreams are a bit much, but in youtube videos you can fast-forward past the boring bits.
Honestly, I feel like this would make a great game for you to maybe consider playing and streaming or recording while you do. You're clearly a bigger fan than most, and it seems like you would actually have a pretty unique perspective, being a HP fan but not necessarily a gamer. Or maybe someone else could stream the game, and just let you decide on any "choices" the story might offer you?
If you're not going to play the game... Would you consider doing reaction videos to the gameplay once the game is out? I feel like the story is going to play a big part, and since it's your niche.... It seems like a great idea 👀😁
@@HannaHsOverInvested Hahahaha we've got some work to do. In my opinion it's perfectly fine, it feels like J.K. Rowling is too heavily detached from the universe at this point (in no small part by her own actions).

I've done a lil bit of digging, and apparently not all Wizards in the UK go to Hogwarts. Not everyone can afford it so there are home schooling programs as well.
I personally think wands are a form of control and regulation. Everyone is forced to go to school overseen by the government and taught magic with wands only. The most powerful wizards, and Dark Lords are able to use magic without wands, and I think that scares the general wizard society, so in order to keep wizards from becoming power hungry dark lords they shun wandless magic.
Honestly i dont give a shit if Rowlling is involved in anything or not, if its good im gonna buy it. i dont care for peoples political opinion, i care about being entertained
I don't think JK Rowling made the games so I don't think its completely her "art", as a game can be more reflective of the developers rather than the story but obviously a good story would make it more enjoyable other than the game mechanics present They named a elf deek, that name can easily be memed i wonder if they know that
I wish they named the elf something more elft like Dink or something. Deek just sounds too human for me, it doesn't seem to go eith Dobby and Kreacher and Winky.

I miss Alan Rickman. Also, Not separating the art from the artist is like wrecking your recently fixed car cause you don't like the mechanic. If you like the books and movies, good, if you don't, your not watching this. :D Rock on Hannah!
Omg the car analogy is great! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not true. Haven't read the books and couldn't get past the first movie in its entirety BUT I'm a gamer that loves open world fantasy games and this has piqued my interest.
6:13 the spell iswith the hard c sound and not the 's' type sound. The word comes from Latin 'accio' which means "I summon", and in Latin, we don't say the 's' type of c. So, it'd be "akio" rather than "asio".
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, btw. I’m in a merciless mood because all my favorite IPs are under assault by rabid SJWs who never understood the source material…
So my wording was pretty vicious, so you might have taken it personally… It’s too bad you didn’t approach your reaction I n a more enlightened way.
I love talking to people who disagree with me. It’s the best way to grow as a person.
What’s the phrase? “Be friends instead?”.. Hard mantra to actually live up to, huh?
@Cornelia That kind of stupid, out of touch with reality, emotionally charged response is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.
0 thoughts, 100% bs.
@Cornelia That’s loaded, but I don’t even know JKs take so…
What do you mean “are valid”, that’s vague.
My comment was in reference to another comment I made on the channel.
But I felt I left too many replies in the reply section.
You should probably seek it out for context. It has 7 upvotes, shouldn’t be too hard to find.
@Cornelia Seriously the scientists say trans people are “valid” stuff still has me confused.
The fuck did she say? XD The fuck am I even supposed to be discussing?
I'm gamer but not a HP fan, so this gameplay reveal has made me really interested in the franchise, I can't wait to play it! I guess that I need to catch up with the books and the movies before the game drops.
Yes, the books sre great!
I'm a big Potter fan as well and I thank my young sister and niece for this. It's nice to the fans reactions to this amazing game your reaction was priceless lol I've finished all the Potter series but my favorite is also Tolkien & Star Wars and Star Trek. This is the first time finding out your channel and series of books I look forward to reading them. Best wishes
I have always pronounced it “ach-EE-Oh” like the beginning sounds like the start of the stereotypical version of a sneeze, “achoo.”
Me too
Dont wait for us to make you in the game, give the game a go! You dont have to be an avid gamer to be able to play games. Most game teach you how to play as you go.
Take your letter to Hogwarts and play out your Hufflepuff adventure!
I’d watch it
*Hannah prefacing her video with plausible deniability/Denying association means endorsement*
Me who still watches and enjoys Kevin Spacey movies: "That`s cute"
Assuming, "accio" is the latin word (transl. I summon) it is pronounced "akio", as in Latin "C" is generally pronounced "K". I.e. "Caesar" is pronounced "Kaisar".
Well-written HP fanfiction is one of my guilty pleasures, I stumbled onto it by chance a few years ago after not really caring about the franchise at all for many years.
Not sure I'll play the game, but I think it probably has huge potential, several generations have such a big connection to this universe and more of them play games now than ever before.
Alexandra Quick
I just recently got into fanfiction. Do you have any recommendations? I really liked „a life of smoke and mirrored glass“ on ao3!
@@JustJoe10 Alexandra Quick it's an original series set in HP universe but in USA Chicago 2011
@@K1ng1995 thanks! I’ll definitely check it out!
You may want to try your hand at playing this game when it comes, what with you loving Harry Potter so much and this gearing up to be the ultimate Potter game.
My favourite book is The Brothers Karamazov and I just purchased Magic Required. How truthful do I have to be when I review it?
Very truthful
At 17:50, you can see Olivanders. Perhaps some more background on his character.
I guess that guy is hella old then huh?
If you're a Harry Potter nerd, I sincerely hope you get to play this game, even if it's in secret. To live in, explore and especially interact in that world first hand would be amazing. It's one I'm looking forward to.
She's probably play it. She already confessed to playing Sims. She a secret gamer lol.
Joking aside, I agree. At least play some story driven games.
The Shrieking Shack may be in the game. But it's set in 1890 so it won't be known as The Shrieking Shack, that didn't happen until Remus enrolled at Hogwarts in 1971. Same reason the Whomping Willow won't be there.
Shrieking Shack was built for Lupin along with the tunnel and Willow wasn't it? Or did it just lead there?
I think that's right, though it doesn't make a ton of sense...
love ur content Hannah!!!!!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you!
The game looks so good.
I hope it ends up being good!
Its accio (Ah-kee-oh), you can look it up on the harry potter wiki. Its supposed to be like aquire, since thats what the spell does.
That you're a big harry potter fan but so set on not trying this yourself is neat. The dynamic of enjoying a world vs not wanting a particular medium is an interesting interaction to see in different people.
Makes me curious what would make hanna want to play a game no matter what.
5 mins into this video and I liked and subscribed. Love your energy!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼thank you!
@@HannaHsOverInvested yeah cause the either it just became haunted or they put kids in a real haunted house while he was vulnerable
Accio (Akkio) is right. And you go beyond Hogsmeade, beyond the Black Lake, and beyond the Forbidden Forest. The map will be massive.
And no-one ever separates the art from the artist these days world we live in Lass!!
I can separate them both I feel!
color me PREORDERED muhahahah
They didn't discuss the game with her, but did consult her work heavily. That's what the developers said
Some fanfic claimed that almost two thirds of employed Wizards in the UK must be working for the Ministry of Magic. After all none of them work in industry or resource gathering or mass transportation, except maybe a hand full.
"i am obsessed with harry potter" 3 min later "those were house elves right?" XD
Haha but I was right. I'm a books fan. Seen the movies only a couple times.
This gameplay reveal got me back into Harry Potter I've been rewatching the movies, haven't seen them in so many years
I rewatched them for the first time not long ago.
I re read the books months ago.
Frankly, it reminded me why i left that saga (movies cover way less than the books by general rule)
When will your books become games or video games?
I always though it was (Ahk-Kee-oo) because i though the root word it was based on was acquire.Thats why i cant see it as (ahh-see-oo) because i am unsure what the word it would based on
I was watching some analysis of this movie. And so the author later noticed that a being treated with avada kedavra was supposedly a goblin. And goblins have no rights (to life). So it was perfectly legal under wizard law to cast this spell.
xD
Woah woah woah… where did you get that shirt? I want one. 😬
Wandless maguc isn't inferior to wand magic, it's just harder to master, that's why not a lot of people can do it. It's said that Dumbledore could do certain forms of wandless magic.
- Can someone create me pls?
- Play it yourself :D
Lol first person I've seen that instantly recognized both Binns an peeves
Would love to see a playthrough from you!
I was always taught that when you have a double C before I or E, that it was a "ks" sound, so in my mind it was always "aksio".
I’ve always said “Ack-io” because that’s how my mom always pronounced it
Hannah, I know you mainly watch trailers, but just this once, you should watch someone play the game.
Maybe livestreams are a bit much, but in youtube videos you can fast-forward past the boring bits.
yeahhhh subscribed within the first minutes
Honestly, I feel like this would make a great game for you to maybe consider playing and streaming or recording while you do. You're clearly a bigger fan than most, and it seems like you would actually have a pretty unique perspective, being a HP fan but not necessarily a gamer.
Or maybe someone else could stream the game, and just let you decide on any "choices" the story might offer you?
I'll keep it on the list of potential games when I hit 100,000 subscribers
"Accio" has double c's, so the first time I read them as a "k"-sound
If you're not going to play the game... Would you consider doing reaction videos to the gameplay once the game is out? I feel like the story is going to play a big part, and since it's your niche.... It seems like a great idea 👀😁
Who's saying it's not cool to like Harry Potter anymore!? I'll end them!
Gen z
@@HannaHsOverInvested Hahahaha we've got some work to do. In my opinion it's perfectly fine, it feels like J.K. Rowling is too heavily detached from the universe at this point (in no small part by her own actions).
If you’re looking for some more content to react to in between your writing, I would highly recommend videos by Pint. He does some funny videos on World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV (both MMORPGs). And if you are looking for non-gaming material to watch, I would recommend the trailers for animated webseries RWBY, and the animated show by Vivziepop, Helluva Boss. While I am mentioning her, I would also suggest the pilot for her upcoming TV show, Hazbin Hotel.
I love this reaction it makes me so excited with you
🙏🏼🙏🏼
why does the Slytherin antagonist look so much like me lol. My playthrough is gonna be confusing
are those books translated to turkish and published?
Unfortunately they are only in English as I am self published and the coat of translation is very high. 😕
maybe this is the day Hannah becomes a gamer
Please watch the after preview of how they made the game
I've always thought of Accio as being pronounced AK-ee-oh, just sounds right to me and, well, Ass-see-oh just sounds dirty lol
I've done a lil bit of digging, and apparently not all Wizards in the UK go to Hogwarts. Not everyone can afford it so there are home schooling programs as well.
Interesting 🤔
bro im so confused I just came to watch this video to watch hannah freak out I didnt expect to start taking notes on HP
I’ve always read it with a k sound, since I wrongly thought it was related to the word “acquire”.
I found out recently that a lot of Wizarding families home-school their children.
I personally think wands are a form of control and regulation. Everyone is forced to go to school overseen by the government and taught magic with wands only. The most powerful wizards, and Dark Lords are able to use magic without wands, and I think that scares the general wizard society, so in order to keep wizards from becoming power hungry dark lords they shun wandless magic.
well it looks better than the old harry potter shooters
Story seems interesting too!
Can i be left handed in the game. Everyones always like hey make your character be just like you or however you want! Like can i be left handed?
Am I weird that I have always pronounced accio as a mix of both pronunciations in this video? Like Axe-ee-o
The Jim Dale ones are ok...
But the Steve Fry British Print versions audio is bests
You have the body frame of an elite powerlifter, you should really try it.
I used to be a pro basketball player. Trying to focus on other non athletic things ATM. But thank you.
there is more concept art in Behind the Scenes : ruclips.net/video/X1Ouktec28I/видео.html
and info about what beyond the castle wall.
Abracadabra ! By the power of algorithm, I throw in a few useless words to support this video ❤ It's MAGIC 💜😋
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Has anyone read her books because I would like to know if they are good, I'm not a reader but I'm looking to start lol
Goodreads has some reviews! Good and bad lol
Honestly i dont give a shit if Rowlling is involved in anything or not, if its good im gonna buy it. i dont care for peoples political opinion, i care about being entertained
I don't think JK Rowling made the games so I don't think its completely her "art", as a game can be more reflective of the developers rather than the story but obviously a good story would make it more enjoyable other than the game mechanics present
They named a elf deek, that name can easily be memed i wonder if they know that
I wish they named the elf something more elft like Dink or something. Deek just sounds too human for me, it doesn't seem to go eith Dobby and Kreacher and Winky.
