That weekend's Friday afternoon Hardly Strickly festival in Golden Gate Park brought Raul to tears when a Cuban flag raised by a fan to memorialize the Obama lifting of restricted travel to Cuba and to Raul's part Cuban heritage. I heard that song played very often way back in 1967, when I was 10 years old. My parents always had their radio on CFRB in Toronto, and they played "Something Stupid" to death. Anytime I hear it, it takes me back there, and I get a nostalgic feeling.
Another example of why I am such a big fan of Raul Malo... how he can take such a old song and breathe new life into it (while telling hecklers to SHUT UP) and putting the spotlight on LeeAnn....
