Hi, just joined your channel and I am enjoying it I just bought the Bon Venu BV-S01 and it cool little radio. I noticed in your review that the power light on your radio did not come on. I have the same problem and was wondering if you had a suggestion for how to fix this.
Welcome to the channel! I just checked my radio and the red power LED is working. I don’t know why it wasn’t before. Maybe I had low battery voltage from some old batteries. I hope your LED starts to work. There’s not much to go wrong. The LED could be bad or installed backwards? Or a poor connection. Thanks for watching 👍❤️📻
Seems like an OK radio for 8 bucks. On FM, it sounded like the weak stations were kinda choppy. I'd take it for a night time AM scan to see how it does. Stay safe!
It’s just amazing what you can get for 8 bucks. It’s not the best radio made but for 8 dollars it’s hard to complain too much. The ear buds are a different story, what a joke. 😜
Not a bad radio for $7.99. I would probably not buy it though. I'm not a big fan of analog scale DSP radios even though I own a few of them. Be safe and have a good weekend.
Not bad.....would be interested in DX demo....from the video'd angle, couldn't see the needle...how hard is it to see in real time?...1984....DOB?....rip apart the era buds....not sure if you remember but Sony back in the late 80's / early 90's had a radio designed similarly...I have a generic emergency with the same design but much fatter...future video when I can get to it...73's OM...fine business....5/5.....DE Jack, VEG
No 1984 was the year I graduated high school. I should take those ear buds apart. The dial is not as readable as most radios.I hope to get around to a night time band scan in the future. Thanks for watching, take care Jack. 👍❤️📻
I thought it would be another clone of the INDAN because of the price. That one's so bad on AM that it's literally less selective than most crystal sets. That's obviously not the case here. I'd say it's not bad at all. It's amazing what they can do for so little today with those "DSP" rigs. Seemly everybody does the "let's see how well it preforms on AM at night" thing, but that's not a good way to test an AM radio as just about anything that isn't outright junk will pull in DX at night as the signals are so strong and there's so much in the air. If you really want to see how well an AM radio performs, do a dial scan in the daytime someplace away from RFI (e.g. a park, or someplace away from power lines, ect). Thanks for all you do, Dig your videos. Keep up the good work.
I don’t have a INDAN radio but have seen some reviews of them and you’re right those radios are bad. I guess I should try an AM test during the day outside when we get some nice weather. I’m in Michigan and we had snow the other day. Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. 👍👍❤️📻
DriveInFreak I would agree in part, as night time stations do come in stronger, but a lot depends on your area : I’m in Jacksonville Florida. I’m from St.Louis, so I like to listen to KMOX-1120. Problem - WBT Charlotte N.C. 50,000 ways beamed north and south, right down our throats. It takes a selective radio to pull KMOX out of the bleedover from WBT. Likewise, if I can get WHO in Iowa, I’ve got a sensitive radio,........ Things are compounded by all the Central/South American stations booming in. As for the Indin radios, I had one . It got all of the AM stations, all at once, and fully across the entire dial. FM was very deaf. Pure junk ❗️ 📻🙂

Just a reminder:
National Yellow Radio Day is on Monday, the 1st.

Cool. Waiting for the band-scan.

AM band is not that bad. I think a loop antenna would get it better.
