Thank you for putting GoTreads through some cruel testing. We hope that GoTreads can help many Canadians in their adventures outdoors. Arne Pinto
no problem at all, we will continue to test them through out the seasons and under different circumstances and vehicles!
thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome invention, Arne! I'm picking up a set soon. 😊
Check these oot
I ordered a set of traction boards a few months back, one thing about the ones I have are really long, not easy to pack away like those, thanks for posting 👍
Yeah, that one of the big positives for these units is hiw storable they are. They are tough indeed!
Thanks for your comment Mike!
Great review! I was planning on purchasing some sort of traction board and was interested in the GoTreads because of how they are engineered and how compact they are. there weren't many indef reviews until i found your review. So i ordered a set and a carrie bag.. i just received my GoTreads the other day. Thank you for a honest thorough review.
Awesome! Where did you order from if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks for watching and commenting!
This is the best Go Tread review video on RUclips.
Thanks man, spread the word!
Which ones are better: MaxTrax like design or GoTreats? In some videos I think that these GoTreats seems to unstuck the car easies and are a lot more portable.. would love to see a real world comparison between the two.
Im not sure which would be better, we do have a review to do on a similar type board like the maxx tracks, so we will get a pretty good idea which ones would be better for what type of terrain.
Video should come out in Dec i think.
We just bought these for our skoolie to level when we park to camp and help us if we get stuck on the sandy beach and I am happy to see this review! You totally tested them in rude conditions and they seem to be really strong ! 💪
They are definitely tough as nails!
Got stuck in a really deep ditch in the snow. These things got me out. A worthy purchase.
Glad they worked for ya, they seem to be a decent product.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great review! Now let’s see in sand and mud! I’m on the fence with buying till I know more about those conditions
Yeah, im curious to see how they will work in other conditions.
We will let you guys know in the future!
Thanks for your comment!
On FWD if you stick all four, I would put under the front, that would kick them under the the rears ideally, give more length of travel away from stuck spot.
Thats a good idea for sure.
Thanks for your comment
This was a pretty good review for them. I am probably going to get a set of these as well and compare them specific against the maxtrax.
Glad to see that they work out really well. Thank you!
Thanks! Yeah we were pleasantly surprised with them!
They are keepers for sure, id like to compare these directly with a set of max trax to really see the diffedence!
@@FabbinAdventures I have a buddy with a set. I'll likely try and make they comparison video
We actually just reviewed a more traditional style traction board and they were awesome, way better than the gotreds for getting on. Im guessing you would like these ones better than the go treds.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome review. Going to pick up a used pair, but it'll be better for my little Honda CRV than those big boards. I'm also a trucker and have been stuck in snow. This will definitely come in handy
Thanks, we are shooting a review of a more traditional style of traction board today. Video should come out sat or sun.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks good. Did you ever test these in the mud? We have a front wheel drive motorhome that can struggle on wet grass or mud.
No we never tried them in the mud yet, they seemed to work good, the only problem was getting on them. They need a little more aggressive grips/nubs right at the leading edge to help the tire get on them. Once your on them the traction is great. I was gonna screw some self taping screws in there and leave the heads exposed and try that.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Very nicely done, so creative in how you tortured the treads, very helpful, great job!!!
Glad you liked the review, they are tough alright!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
So hey off subject but when you painted your Sammy monster liner green, did you roll or spray,I'm seriously thinking about painting my monster vertical mill I'm rebuilding.i notice their spray gun is fairly cheap.that was monster paint ,right?my mill is 3200 pounds of metal spitting fury!
I really did not want to do a total tear down but I have to remove the head and disassemble to replace the drive belts in the back gears.so the only way to get er done right to paint is ,well you know.and how is the chemical resistance or ml paint,do you know?
Hey Harold,
Yeah it is monstaliner, if you have the option to spray, that is the way i would do it, just be sure to mask everything you dont want covered!
The stuff seems really tough and has been standing up really well. I dont kniw how the chemical resistance is though, youd have to contact Magnum paints for that info.
It cleans up very well and think it would look great on a mill.
Let me know how it turns out!
@@FabbinAdventures oh yeah I know all the machined surfaces are off limits,I have machining experiance.only coating they get is way oil!appreciate the return!fab on!
These are neat, I got stuck in front wheel drive getting out of my driveway yesterday, we had a blizzard and the way my street is I get some of the deepest snow drifts so getting out is impossible without digging several or more feet of snow or by using something like this! And my issue was the tires made solid ice beneath after spinning. I’ll have to try these out, we don’t get a lot of snow anymore in sw Kansas because we’re practically a desert but we got hit hard with this country wide storm and I wish I had these.
Thanks for watching, these traction boards could use some improvement but they definitely help and they are easy to stow away in your vehicle, there are lots of different traction boards but non as compact as these as far as i know.
Methal hydrate is a trick truckers up here know about. If your stuck on polished ice, pour methal hydrate on your drive tires, give it a little time and you will drive away!
Great eval of a product that you were honestly hopeful about - but not 100% confident about before you got your hands on some. I really like the storability of them compared to other traction boards. One more item for the Christmas list! Lol
Yeah, we were a bit worried that they wouldnt hold up, but the initial testing shows they are pretty damn tough!
We will continue to test them in different enviroments and give out input as we go along through summer and back into winter. I highly doubt we will break them, though i would be interested in testing them out side by side with some maxtrax!
Thanks for your comment man!
If she says another “yeah” I’m gonna buy a gotread
Sure could have used those many times over the years...great tough, testing...nice to see it put through some honest, tough and a bit on the extreme side testing.
Yeah, they actually work pretty good, nice and portable too. I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to wreck a set!
Yeah, they actually work pretty good, nice and portable too. I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to wreck a set!
great review, thank you. I am ordering my set now. Love the versatility.
They work pretty decent, if i could change one thing, id add some little biting nubs to help the tire grab and get on them. Other than that, they should serve you well.
Was that a caribou running in the background?
It might have been, but i doubt it!
Fun video! Thanks for all the different tests!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Any idea how they work with a dually?
Thats a good question. I have no idea. But they were designed for semi trucks and military, so i imagine theyd work fine.
I really want some but the price is high
I thought they were reasonably priced, half way between maxtrax and the cheap knock offs.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Traction boards should grip on both surfaces. A flat surface is not good because they will be thrown out the back.
They do grip on both surfaces, there is no top or bottom to these boards.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I haven't seen a Samurai in a while, great memories of one of those from back in the 90s.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
There Orange that's why there so good. But I'm sure I could break them. I break every thing else
Lol, oh im sure they could be broke, we did only test them for a day, but the good thing is, if you do break them they are lifetime warrantee!
Thanks for your comment!
Waiting for the mud review
Me too..lol im real curious as to how well they will work in all the different terrain!
Thanks for your comment!
This is a hell of a review.
Thanks man, we tried to keep it real!
Thanks for your comment!
@@FabbinAdventures Your review is the reason I'm purchasing these. Thank you for making such a thorough and real review.
Im sure they will work good for you, i bet you wont break them. But hey if by chance you do, they are lifetime warranty!
We tried to keep it real and wanted to test out their toughness. I think we proved how tough they are!
Time will tell how they work in all circumstances!
Have fun, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome video !! Deff will need to get me a set of those haha
Yeah you know, we were skeptical at first, but after using them for the day we have more confidence in their toughness, im pretty sure you won't break them! The traditional style of traction board like a maxtrax may have an advantage in certain obstacles, but i think over all these are pretty damn good. Cant wait to do more testing of them over the next year or so!
Thanks for your comment Kale
Damn you guys sure do know how to make a good video
Glad you like it, we have another set of traction boards to review when we get some snow.
Watch for it!
Great review!
Thanks buddy.
The music …
"real review"..... Butttttttt sponsored by several companies.
Sooo, we are not capable of doing a real review because we were sponsored?
Thats fine, think what you want to think.
My channel isnt based on reviews, its a 4x4 and fabrication channel, i have nothing to gain by putting out a "rigged" review.
Thanks for your comment and concern.
@@FabbinAdventures rarely does someone speak negative about their their sponsor or tell the entire truth.
Well if youve watched any videos of mine since, you will see they are not a sponsor.
I actually just got another set of traction boards in to review. I told them only if i can be brutally honest will i do it.
Watch for the video. I will include our e-mail conversation to help with people thinking im making up a "rigged" review. Guess i shoulda did the same with the go treads.
Thanks for your concern!
Kind of defeats a review when your SPONSORED BY GOTREADS ad pops up at the beginning of the video. When lady picks them up and right off the bat, “wow, these are durable and tough.” LOL. BULLSHIT REVEIW. All credibility went out the window, too bad, seem like decent folks but come on, objectivity and honesty first.
Well some people may think the same way you do and thats fine.
The fact is, i contacted them to test them out honestly and we did just that.
It is not Gotreads that sponsors us, its the distributer ( who is a small buisness starting up looking for exposure ) that sponsored us after we filmed the review.
I never said they were the best thing out there, i mean the maxx traxx will out perform these under certain circumstances.
Are the Gotreads tough? Definitely, i figured we'd break those hinges first thing but they stood up.
They do have a lifetime replacement warranty and i believe you will most likely never need to use it.
We still stand by the review even when they dont sponsor us.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@FabbinAdventures I can respect that. Little feedback; mention that in a clip near the start of a sponsored video. Will solidify credibility. Good on you guys and I get needing outside sources, however, I will call out small and larger reviewers just the same. You can’t tell me you haven’t watched many videos on RUclips and thought, “that’s a paid for good review.” Throw what you said out there next time. Good luck!
Oh yeah there are definitely paid for biased reviews.
We tried to keep it honest and real. Reviews are not really my thing, i fabricate 4x4 parts mostly. But i hate ehen i cant find a good review on something im interested in. That was pretty much the whole idea around this review.
They said to abuse them, so we did. I really figured they wouldnt stand up. First impressions were they seem and feel really tough, but the hinge system would be the weak link, i think the hinge will hold up fine for a long time.
Thanks for watching and commenting and check out some of my other videos, like my latest project im working on.
