Help us show the world the history of one of the most mythical boulders in Fontainebleau, Big Island Sit. While this boulder resisted even the biggest names in climbing, Simon Lorenzi managed to link it with a disconcerting speed. Discover all the details of this adventure and of this boulder, recently named Suddenly Alone.
To do this, I went into Simon's life, to try to decipher, understand and show you through this short film, how a first major ascent was done. It is thus in the greatest intimacy that I followed and filmed the whole life of this ambitious climber.

Alors que ce bloc résistait même aux plus grands noms de l'escalade, Simon Lorenzi parvient à l'enchainer avec une rapidité déconcertante. Découvrez tous les détails de cette aventure et de ce bloc, depuis peu, nommé Soudain Seul.
Pour ce faire, je me suis introduit dans la vie de Simon, pour tenter de décrypter, de comprendre et de vous montrer au moyen de ce court-métrage, comment se déroulait une first ascent majeure. C’est donc dans la plus grande intimité que j’ai suivi et filmé toute la vie de ce grimpeur ambitieux.

One thing I don't get. So Sharma climbs Biography in full and calls it Realization but the French normal is to keep the original name of a project so it stays as Biography. So why is this not just The Island Assis?

I agree that a book in the kneepad is aid climbing but it still wouldn't change the grade of the climb since thats how hard the move is if you put a book under you kneepad (would be harder if he didn't). At any rate I will never climb this hard even with a book under my kneepad so props to anyone who can with or without a book!
@@ryantaylor6470 yeah of course its fuking crazy, the boulder its super sick!! But I would love a little bit of context or explanation, dont u think?
@@ryantaylor6470 I mean he did the FA, so if he does use a book or a tree or whatever he hast the chance to do so. The grade is only defined by that. If he uses a book, everyone can do and the boulder is graded with the book in mind.
Sleepwalker sit is the worlds second 9A Boulder...
yes and no, this climb was sent first and later downgraded but is now being reconsidered as 9A due to a recent repeat. sleepwalker has yet to see a repeat so nobody really knows, although the chances of it being 9a is greatly higher than big island sit, as it is a existing v16 with many repeats so adding 4 moves of v13 climbing is bound to increase the grade by at LEAST 1 v-grade.
@@mrwhale7875 Concerning this, so Burden of Dreams is then no 9A boulder either? Cause nobody has repeated and rated it yet? I don't think so...
@@aldre6566 proposed 9A should have clarified. Burden of dreams is proposed 9a, as is rotsw. Big island sit is 9a/8c+

@@existeplus4677 the Island n'existe plus, c'était un départ bidon surélevé que personne ne répète depuis que V Pochon a ouvert le départ logique de Big Island. D'où mon commentaire.
@@jean-baptistejourjon4024 ah je suis bien d’accord pour dire que le départ de Vincent est bien plus intuitif et a plus de sens mais l’erreur est compréhensible, Dave a ouvert le bal sur ce bloc.
