Sir I'm a CA intermediate student and i had not studied asset diaposal accounts and all in 11th and 12th...bcz I was never interested in accounts but sir today I would love to thanku u from the bottom of my heart sir.. U made me understand the concept so much better.. Hats off to u sir.

Preparing provision for depreciation a/c has its own utilities as it charge depreciation without effecting the original cost of asset. We can also directly charge depreciation in assets account but it depends upon question asked.

Sir but in provision for depreciation a/c we should write p&l a/c in the place of depreciation a/c plz clear my doubt 🙏
ya sure that could be a possible way as depreciation amount is indirectly transferring to P&L A/C.
Reason - depreciation in provision for depreciation a/c will be cross-posted to depreciation A/C and from there it will be transferred to P&L A/C if you didn't get this prepare depreciation a/c you will automatically get your answer
@@aaryan7905 but if we are preparing provision for depreciation A/C then why should we have to create depreciation A/C it should be directly transferred to PnL A/C but thanks for your explanation 👍
@@kunaljotwani4467 depreciation A/C receives the amount by cross-posting in its debit side and that amount is transferred as an expense from the credit of dep a/c to p&l a/c but directly transferring amt from provision for dep to p&l a/c will also depict the same thing just one step is skipped. then in p&l a/c provision for dep would be debited instead of dep a/c

On 1st april,2013 a company purchased plant and machinery costing rs68,000.It is estimated that its working life is 10 years,at the end of which it will fetch.additions are made on 1st april,2014 to the value or Rs40,000(residual value RS4,000).More additions are made on october1,2015 to the value of 9800.
Breakup value (RS800).The working life if both the additional machinery is 20 years.
Calculate the depreciation of the above 3 Machinery keeping in mind the date of purchase.
