    The Pakistan Air Force is stronger than ever. Since the last Indo-Pak air war of 1971, the Pakistan Air Force has with steely determination built up numbers, lethal capabilities and a combat force now counted as one of the most disciplined and well-trained air forces in the world.

    Hello guys:
    Currently PAF is not looking for buy J-11's
    Though its option is on the Table but According to the Document of AFMP 2015 we are only buying FC-20 2 squadrons
    F/16 C/D block 50/52
    And PAF is waiting for MMRCA results from India and then to buy another Aircraft
    maybe ; JAS 39 gripen /Dassault Rafale/or EF2000 Typhoon.
    Regards:

    Don,t Panic, we use engines and avionics as per our spacifications and also try to develop and improve these ourself. we take chnese ait frame with mix of western technology, we don,t afford to purchase to buy euro fighter with lower capability then JF-17 and high cost, Keep your suggestion with yourself and give your suggestion to your own air force. from our point of view most important thing is transfer of technology and skills in man power so that we develop our own air craft in near future

    Can't understand all the silly comments made on this thread. The Chinese did not copy the Russian SU-27 illegally or otherwise. They manufactured them under licence from the Russians, with most of the engines imported from Russia.

    we are not currently seeking J-11b but 150 J-10b's as it meets all of our requirements.
    More vipers will come , Turkey is upgrading our F-16's along with new vipers Thunders and Fc-20's with awacs can knock down any aggressor.

    Headlines Today has accessed the recent presentation made to the Ministry of Defence. The document makes singularly ominous projections. The most glaring warning is about combat force ratio.
    The presentation says that the ratio of 1:1.7 is likely to progressively dip to 1:1.2 by the end of 2012. It describes this as a "historic low". It also says that the traditional hi-tech advantage is almost equal now with 9.5:11 squadron ratio.

    The one thing that won't change -- high-value targets in J&K will be high-priority targets for the PAF.
    There's a deeper threat at play than just fighter numbers. Consider these newly inducted force multiplers that all but kill the Indian air advantage. Pakistan is inducting four Swedish Saab Erieye and four Chinese Y-8 airborne early warning aircraft, while India, currently, has three.

    @ Izoozo & KaraKhitan
    The FC-20 is not made of Russian components entirely, Izoozo. Yes, the Chinese J-10's have the Saturn AL-31 engine installed, but export models will have the Chinese built WS-10A turbofan on it, thereby making it entirely of Chinese origin.
    And KaraKhitan...yes, you are correct.

    A formidable adversary
    The last time the air forces of India and Pakistan fought a full-blown war was forty years ago.
    But if the Pakistan Air Force of 1971 was an enemy to be reckoned with, circumstances have made it an even more formidable adversary today.
    The internal assessment by the Indian defence establishment makes some grimly practical projections in the light of an adversary emboldened by an unfettered modernisation spree.

  • @MuslimSoldier187
    @MuslimSoldier187 13 лет назад

    Despite the ominous projections of the presentation, there are those who believe the Indian Air Force will always remain on top. Among them, Air Marshal Denzil Keelor, one half of the legendary Keelor brothers, who scored independent India's first air-to-air kill against Pakistan in 1965.
    But for the IAF to remain ahead, and stem the swiftly dwindling capability advantage over Pakistan, it needs to make some hard decisions across the board.

    I fully agree my Aussie friend...but it's getting complicated. Do we set up a country to fail by not providing the military support they need if we just cut them off? It seems if these extremists could practice a little "live and let live" than everyone would be happy, but they seem to think their views are the only ones that matter despite the fact that they don't represent the majority.

    ya that the case. that's why the WS-10 has low power and was never used. the current WS-10A is heavily modified from WS-10, so you could say that they learnt how to make an engine by making a modified CFM56, but learnt to make it better by improving WS-10

    PAF Airforce:
    "As an air defence analyst, I am fully aware that the Pakistan Air
    Force ranks today as one of the best air forces in the world and that
    the PAF Combat Commanders' School (CCS) in Sargodha has been ranked
    as the best GCI/pilot and fighter tactics and weapons school in the
    world". As one senior US defence analyst commented to me in 1991, "it
    leaves Topgun (the US Naval Air Station in Miramar, California) far
    behind".

    A determined plugging of air defence gaps with radars and missiles has starkly reduced the Indian Air Force's freedom of action in the event of war.
    There are several reasons why the situation has been allowed to get so grim for the Indian Air Force.
    Delays in the Tejas have forced the Air Force to grapple with stop-gap arrangements that don't quite cut it.

    Finally, with an ageing Soviet fleet of aircraft (MIGs) that are troublesome and facing retirement, the Air Force looks at an even greater dip in the numbers advantage.
    The message to the Defence Ministry and the government is simple. Cut your losses and plan hard for the future. If you don't, the Indian Air Force will lose the one thing you've always counted on: its combat edge.

    Pakistani Air Force is getting 40 of these FC-20 Vanguard by 2015. The PAF will also get 25 JF-17 this year, by 2015 total 150, and by 2020 the total acquire 275. The PAF will probably upgraded all 84 F-16A/B/C/D to block 52. The PAF should buy J-11BS (two seat) from China. I also heard Pakistan will get their own 5th Gen. is called JF-17X.

    Please don not confuse Su-35BM with old Su35 from 1990s.
    I know the difference between these two.
    Fifteen Su-27Ms (prototype Su-35s) were built, along with three Su-35BMs (one crashed 2009-04-24).
    Later production J-11Bs could attain technological parity with Su-35BM with installation of Chinese Type 1474 series AESA radars, IRST, PL-10, PL-12, etc.
    You're right, the Su-35BM (now Su-35S) will be a top-rate Gen 4.5 fighter.
    AFAIK, the J-11B cannot be exported outside China, IIRC.

  • @ApocalipticToaster

    Actually they're copies of the AL-31F engines w/o the TVC nozzles because as far as everyone else is concerned Full 3D-TVC is a no go for most, way too complex, even the americans found it difficult on the F-18 TVC Prototype (it worked ok but...it only went 8-10 degrees). As for the J-11 i believe only a handfull have The TVC engines (i.e.the original SU engines). The Rest of them are basically Big SU-27s using standard controls, closer to the F-15A in manouvering (possible a bit less agile).

  • @MuslimSoldier187
    @MuslimSoldier187 13 лет назад

    With Pakistan rapidly acquiring early warning aircraft, mid-air refuellers and long-range missiles, the technology gap is at a historic low.
    It is a wake-up call to India's military planners. The decisions taken now could forever doom the crucial advantage that the Indian Air Force has always enjoyed against an adversary that can never be underestimated.

    We, and I mean the US, don't need to worry about the People's Republic of China declaring war on the US. The worry is rooted in the fear and concern of China's neighbors: Japan South Korea Philippines Vietnam Republic of China (Taiwan) and possibly Mongolia. Anger from the Central Asian nations about how the PRC is treating the Uyghur population is adding some tension. The PRC aggressive actions toward them is drawing the US in because some of those nations are the US's best allies in the area.

    Tipubhai,
    Wait til we get the remaining SU-30MKI (100+ in service) by 2014 to make the number 280, and then 200 MRCA by 2017, most likely F-18 and then we will see.
    Even today, you can see how Pak Fizaya Fizzles, and Indian Air Force Sizzles.
    Certainly FC-20 and JF-17 are better then Copycat F7P, Q5 and Mirage III & IV from 1960s vintage.
    Cheers!

    @sunray880
    The J-20 seems to have copied the blue prints of the F-22. It was a result of Chinese cyberespoinage (of which we are all aware of). The development of the J-20 is plagued with problems and may never go beyond the prototype phase to become anywhere close to the F-22.

    @JZSNtelpy
    The problems that the J-20 are dealing with are believed to be much more challenging than that of the F-22. The military knew the F-22 had a role to fulfill, but after the fall of the Soviet Union, the F-22's pace of development dropped. In any case, what I'm saying is the Chinese are finally in the prototype phase, something where the F-22 was at almost two whole decades ago. That is, if you can even assume that J-20 is equal to the prototype YF-22 and YF-23 the US had back then.

    @pogularocky Lots of low downs. The JF-17 was co-developed by both Pakistan and China. The purpose to further improve JF17 is to make the most of maintainance facility and parts for Mig-21/J-7. It's costly to abandon all existing infrastructure for widely used Mig-21 in Pakistan, and it may lead to vacuum of defense while replacing a large number of existing fleets.

    First of all, that's my point. If bin laden was hiding in pakistan, it means that some officials very high up are actually radical muslims. As for the muslim community being quiet when radical muslims are causing trouble - yes, that is a problem. A community should step forward and condemn the acts of a few radicals in their midst when something bad happens, it's the way it is. When a community stays quiet or tries to make excuses, it smacks of complacency. Anyway, you seem like a good person.

    @Pashtunlad 33% of the worlds GDP was under the Mauryan empire. Mughals 24.5%(which is still huge). Mughal empire is our heritage, but I am tell you what educated economist says. Mauryan soldiers never went to war with Afghanistan. Infact in that era Afghans converted to Buddhism. Hindu Kush was a name made by the Arabs when they invaded that area

    @Pashtunlad Mauryans never said such a thing, and they never invaded Afghanistan. They got Afghanistan and parts of Iran and central asia by defeating the Seleucids(successor of the Alexander the great). This empire held 33% of the world GDP and had probably the largest army of the time.

    The title to this video is inaccurate. China is providing Pakistan with FC-17 Thunders, not J-11 (Su-30's). The J-11 has many Russian components in it which have to be authorized by Russia to go to Pakistan, which will not happen because Russia traditionally stands behind India.

    iam a pakistani. 1234rajan is right, J11 is russian , it is a version of Sukhoi . China cannot sell it to pak. it needs russian clearence. and most probably russia can only sell it to PAk. J11 does not meet pak airfoce needs as Pakistan AF policy does not believe in twin engine aircrafts.

    @pogularocky J-10(1 turbine) is one generation advanced than JF-17, and J-11(2 turbines) are also sent to Pakistan too as it's used for long distance defense
