“It is better than an OPERAAAA”
ramin: I absolutely must leave right now immediately
LMAO.
Wow? Marius and Enjorlas? Javert and Valjean? Grantaire and Enjorlas (again lol), and Raoul and Erik? Man, these 2 do everything.
I always forget that Hadley did Marius, especially with Ramin as Enjolras. They make such a great Enjolras and Grantaire pair (and later on Valjean and Javert) that his lil baby voice Marius just isn't something I remember. it's so soft and sweet and clear while still being beautiful and strong, it's remarkable to think about compared to how his voice grows.
Hadley sounds different in everything he does haha
It’s called range, and he’s got it in spades.
Vocal, acting, musical genre crossing, the ability to sing Baritone and Tenor equally impressively and convincingly.
Listen to him sing I’ll Be There from Pirate Queen and tell me he doesn’t sound like a legit tenor and then hear his Javert and it’s a terrifying difference.
He doesn’t get enough love for what he’s able to do, but dude is a chameleon and can do whatever is asked of him.
4:34 "general Lamarque is dead!", 20 long seconds of silence, and then ramin starts to sing
they must have been REALLY shocked! :)
Hadley and ramin. eye and ear candy.
The voice changed with age... It went from that youthful brightness that characterizes Marius to a bit darker richer, more burnished sound. Most voices do a bit over time if they are taken care of.
O
how the 25th should've been casted
THEY SOUND SO YOUNG LOOK HOW FAR THEY'VE COME
I feel so lucky to actually be able to listen to audios of these two before they got as huge as they are, and before they really developed their vocal styles. Hadley sounds so young, and Ramin sounds so unlike he does now--you can definitely hear the sharpness of his voice starting to come out, but he doesn't sound so unique yet.
hadley and ramin are just sublime
Agreed. His voice really gained richness, depth, maturity and fullness in time after this recording.
It’s lucky we even have clips from such a long time ago. This is gold.
wow...this is Ramin & Hadley before they were quite so famous absolutely awsome! and both are even better now!
Hadley sounded so young here! As in SO MUCH. Too much. It's actually cute. Haha!
it's amazing how GOOD Ramin's Enjolras is here... but how much more AMAZING it is in the 25th Anniversary performance!
ooo I much prefer Ramin in this compared to Phantom. *hides* But then, the Enjolras character has some of the most epic vocal parts ever.
Same.
Agreed; his voice suits Enjolras well, but isn't as smooth and angelic as I prefer for the Phantom.
no way he's the best phantom
I had no idea Ramin and Hadley were ever Enjolras and Marius together!!
oh look i've been here already
@@Mistardmuster Isn't that a mood. Finding gems like this and realizing you've been here before. Nice to know my younger self had good choice in music
I think Enjolras in general is sexy because of his patriotism. Which girl doesn't like a guy who would give up his life for his country?
The Phantom says to RAOUL of all people. I died laughing!
"And here he comes like Don Juan"
Ramin should've been like 'no, *I'm* Don Juan! The opera is mine not Raoul's!"
Ha Hadley sounds so young!!!
Yes... You can really her how he refined his performance of the role over time and how his voice filled out and matured. He was still one of the best Enjolras' ever though even here at the age of 24.
I love Red and Black, ever since I watched the 2012 movie of Les Mis I fell in love with it and now it's my fav. movie everrrrr
And the musical version is 100x better than the movie, since that one was cut off everywhere and it ended up like half its length (and with a lot less meaning).
Haha, the phantom's like, "who cares about your lonely soul?"
They must have been really young doing this... Hadley hasnt got that timbre he has later in phantom 25th anniversary... Ramin still fab though ✨
This was from the 2002-2003 run of Les Mis at the Palace Theatre. So yes, definitely young: 22 years old.
wish they both had major roles in the Les Mis movie
This will be forever my favourite version of this song! :)
Invent a time machine!
***** Yeah, that sounds like the perfect guy to have as a lover ;)
***** Now that you say it, I think Hadley would've been a great Enjolras too, if he'd been given the chance ;)
You'll never know until you see him do it ;) But apparently, he stayed as Marius for the rest of his time, just like any main Mariuses :)
I mean if he doesn't play Enjolras, you'll never know if he fits the role or not. But apparently we will never get to see that.
the cooolooouuur of desire
Ahhhh The Revolutionaries went to the Opera Garnier!! POTO/Les Mis crossover!!! *Phangirls soooooo much*
love Ramin and Hadley!
Anyone know who played Grantaire there? I love his delivery of "It is better than an opera"!
Hadely fraser!
@@LoU-vi1dl nope, hadley fraser was marius in this production, it was his first west end role
i don't know who grantaire is tho :(
@@jenniferlee9577 actually they stitched two audios together as ramin and hadley never actually played enjolaras and marius together.. so R wouldve either been the actor for marius in the 04 production (unsure who) or hadley who played him in the 25th concert where ramin reprised his role of enjolras
Hallooo! The Grantaire in this is me - David Ashley. I loved working with these two glorious humans. The whole cast were wonderful 🤩
I also played Bamatabois! Would love to hear a recording of the whole show of anyone has it?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love Ramin as Enjolras!
Ahhh Hadley has a such a baby voice!! 😂❤
~:~
Even though I think that Ramin was great as JvJ, I think he's much better suited for Enjolras! If anything, I would want to see him as that in the movie.
I know! WHY ARE THEY SO PERFECT???
Ramin has the sexiest voice I have ever heard.
They're inseparable! Not that I'm complaining, double the hotness ;D
He legit makes me cry every time
I love Fraser so much!!! He is Grantaire!!!
Well yes, but in this recording, it’s me as Grantaire 🤩
Hadley sounds so different here. i love them both
Very good performance. Thank you very much !!!
i must say thats hilarious...... ITS THE PHANTOM AND RAOUL! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA xD i think they magically became friends and did this xD
Does anyone know if there is audio of Look Down from this same performance? I'm always looking for more Hadley/Ramin singing!!
Hadley sounds like a teenage David Shannon in this, my god his voice deepened when he transitioned to playing Javert
Ramin talking about opera. Foreshadowing maybe?
have Ramin and Hadley been every role??
I mean, between them they've been JVJ, Javert, Marius, Enjolras, Grantaire, Feuilly, the National Guardsman... so yeah pretty much!!
This fucking cast omg ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
are there any actual videos of Hadley as Marius? because I can't find any :(
mangomelon I'm desperate for them, too.
Sadly, I don't think any exist :(
Sad, isn't it?
G. Rism Definitely :(
Yes I have had a clip of him singing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and possibly him doing one with Eponine.
I love this
Who played Grantaire here? I love his voice!
Ramin
RAMIN!! *dies*
StarWarsObsession42 dooooont
❤❤❤
Why the fuck were these two not asked to be in the movie
OMG that's just sooo great *W*
@Andy Sunnucks Actually it's Miner, but dont fret. But sadly they haven't done everything together. Hadley did a small part in the Les Miserables movie and Ramin wasnt.
Ramin is Enjolras? And then he became Valjean. So, so cool! Sry, I know nothing though I'm a big fan.
BABYS
Does anyone know if there is a recording of Look Down with this cast?
What video? Its only audio. What a pity.
Ramin, Hadley and Jerome together?! Could it be better??
they even have a band
can you send me the audio of this show please? :)
Is that the only time enjorlas is said in this show?
Who was Grantaire in this?
It was me! 🤩
I know right?
( you know who's playing the other students?)
school boys
