I appreciate the tips. These 2 methods are probably the most approachable techniques for painting the lightning on power swords. I've only started 40k less than a year ago. I'm trying them out tonight. I definitely have to break out the really fine point detail brush for this.
Hope the video helps!
My favorite mini painting channel thx for the tutorial will definitely use this for my power swords
Thanks! Glad you like the channel!
Elegantly simple and well explained. A lot of rambling youtube painting coaches could learn from your exampled sir! Bravo!
Thanks!
Need a tutorial for how you’re painting the blade guard and the marshal cause they both look amazing
Thanks! I'm not filming any of it but may do one of the other models :)
Thank you, tried it out and it worked perfectly for me.
You make the best tutorials!
That's awesome - thanks for sharing!
Wicked . Just got the veteran bladegaurds today wasn't confident on the swords but now im definitely doing them thanks coach 👍
Cheers Dean
Great video!! Thanks master!
Glad you liked it!
Looks great 😉
Thanks!
Great stuff
Thanks Eric
Huh, hadnt thought of glazing it over a chrome. What colors would you use for a red or green tone?
Depending on how bright but warp lightning might work
Another outstanding video. Any chance we can get a video showing the brushes, equipment, etc that you like?
Cheers - check my channel - I have a video on brushes and thinning paint which goes over my preferred tools
The second one is mind blowing ! I'm up fort it ! It's just that i don't have same colors right now. Do you think kantor, to macrage, to calgar, to corax (i have wraith bone too) will make it ?
Yup painting ultra right now as you can guess. And power sword is last step to table top (for my blade guards). And i must say from all tutos i have seen, yours sir is the best. I won't find better i know it.
Thanks! I would say try it on a spare part first and see if it works - or some paper - you could also try green - with caliban, warpstone, moot, flash gitz yellow and white
Just like to say I just found your channel your awesome
Thanks Zack - I appreciate it!
Love this. What sort of brush size is getting those effects? I cannot get much other than blob looking lightning 😭
Size 1 - either a W&N S7 or a Rosemary & Co S33. Key is getting a good point and not too much paint
@@ThePaintingCoach Thank you so much, so yes I was using too big a brush :D. I'll need to practice this!
No problem 👍🏻
