I am a Physician in Australia. Been to the Hogeway dementia village .Was really amazed and gob smacked at the way the Dutch care for their elderly and demented people. Why cant this be duplicated in other first world societies. It is definitely unique and may be the way to go in the future.Absolutely fantastic way of handling these patients through a different model of care.Money is not everything but if you apply the mind to it ,it can definitely churn out miracles.

IT is NOT government RUN health care!!! It's government CHECKED health care: a big difference. Holland had a hybrid health care system, public care for the poor, private care for the rich. EXACTLY LIKE US higher education with Harvard and "community college". 10 yrs ago they privatized completely, which yes drove up cost from 15 euro month to 125 euros a month. Not paradise but government STILL enforces a basic standard, and of course we do NOT have that "previous condition" crap!

It isn't exactly like the US education system. 125$ a month for full time care is essentially free.
