Honest reaction...I enjoyed it. We Maori are proud of our culture and heritage as it was almost taken from us by colonisers who wanted us to conform to their ways...eg beating our ancestors if they spoke Te Reo Maori. My grandma was beaten in school for speaking her native tongue...To this day we still have people in New Zealand who hate that Maori is spoken...
in regards to the faces...it’s called a pukana...in ancient times Maori warriors would perform haka to intimidate their enemy...with the hopes it would scare them off so they wouldn’t have to battle.
Keep learning and embracing new cultures. You didn’t deserve all the hate you got on your last few haka videos. I’d react the same to new culture that took me out of my comfort zone.
