My order of sofi finally went through today! I woke up and it had gone through at 6,97$, which was also the lowest of the day. I never make the lowest price of the day but today I did and that feels great

SOFI student loan holders are all on the high end range (both loan value and FICO score). The cuts are all for people in the low end of the economic ladder.

I keep hearing some say there will not be any rate cuts this year.
In the meantime time sofi will grow customers and improve products. This is a couple of years of growth. I'm still very confident in management

Noto provided SOFI earnings estimates for FY24 based on 5% unemployment and 4 rate cuts which implies a bad economic environment. That isn't the case so I bet that even though he said they were going to reduce lending that they did the opposite and increased lending because so far the economy isn't as bad as what they were projecting in their earnings projections. The economy is hot.

What does it matter to Sofi? The Govt can’t just evaporate money owed to a private company. If anything the Govt would have to pay Sofi for any student loans cancelled that are held by Sofi.
Borrowers could slow down their repayments in the meantime plus once the debt is forgiven then no more interest income. So even if you and I pay the loans back through taxes we will pay it back at current value rather than their future value. Though perhaps the bank could re-loan the money out at today's higher interest rates. I don't know anything about banks. This is not financial advice.

But correct me if I’m wrong sofi doesn’t provide federal student loans. The forgiveness will be the federal loans. So ultimately would not affect sofi. What hurt sofi when it came to student loans was the delay of repayment of all student loans.

The people most affected by student loan forgiveness were not paying on them anyway.
I'm holding through earnings. I think it will be a positive earnings but in this brutal environment it may just be a wash. It's a gamble at this point. I think we're headed for some rough waters.

SoFI price just keeps going down even on good earnings. If there’s ever an earnings miss I can see the price absolutely collapsing back under 4$.

I believe there are over 1.3 Trillion dollars in student loans in the US right now. 7 B is nothing in the big picture.
It's crazy to think about the scale of student loan debt compared to other financial figures.
Everything is fake,or false. Sometimes the opposite, and the truth is nowhere to be found. That said I am a sofi investor because I believe in the company.
