Your grandparents make me think of my grandpa. He had a hard life and worked nearly until he was 100. His favourite things were his family, good food (specially because he lacked it younger.) and well done work. Enjoy every seconds of your time with them, what a wealth are grandparents ❤

It appears that we have all overlooked something very valuable in our quest for existence.
Lemongrass is 1 of the most aromatic, fragrant + refreshing spices. It is used extensively in Thai Cuisine. (The Yunnan Dai People are similar to Southeast Asians around Thailand.) Pen Ji really put a lot of effort in her cooking + videos. From harvesting the lemongrass, washing all the ingredients, the labor intensive, but precise chopping + cutting, to the complicated cooking of her Michelin quality dishes, can easily take a whole day. No wonder she was "late" in delivering lunch to her family. But as Axia displayed, the heavenly meal was worth waiting for + bragging about. (Pen Ji is too modest.) I would love to have her "simple" dinner of shrimp + fish EVERY WEEK !!! Nothing that Pen Ji ever cooks is simple.

I grew up in the village and often went to field with my parents as well and believe me even a very simple meal taste wonderfull if you eat it after work in the open field with breeze around you.. now im pursuing my career and living in town and i really miss the simple but full life in the country.. i hope i could enjoy this experience later on my life

Hi Dianxi, I would like to suggest you making an aromatic Chicken Rice. Chop or blender; lemongrass + ginger + garlic (make paste). Saute the paste until aromatic. Place some chicken with bone parts. We plant lemongrass here but not THAT much lol. And we mostly use ours for tea, medicine and scented oils/soap/lotions or shampoos, not really for cooking. It’s so nice to see different methods of using lemongrass. As usual, awesome content!

In Ecuador, we use lemongrass as a tea. It is very refreshing and great for stomach problems
It can also be used to prevent mosquitos. Put water in a jar together with lemongrass and place it near you. It can be used for about 4-5 days.

Cooking, as always, perfect. What I love the most is the view of the farm, with grandpa, grandma, and Axia. I grew up in the countryside, abd I always love traveling back there.
We had lemon grass back in one of my relatives house .We didn't knew how to use that ,kept it only for the fresh fragrance and in covering fences/decorative plants😅.i learnt so many things from you.Thank you so much!! I'll try this recipe soon..
lemon grass go well with boiled chicken. the broth will definitely taste like heaven. now i want some of my mom boiled chicken soup. 😅

I would like to suggest you making an aromatic Chicken Rice. Chop or blender; lemongrass + ginger + garlic (make paste). Saute the paste until aromatic. Place some chicken with bone parts. Add in rice, required water to cook the rice, season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until rice is cook. The aroma of the Chicken Rice is awesome. 😊

We plant lemongrass here but not THAT much lol. And we mostly use ours for tea, medicine and scented oils/soap/lotions or shampoos, not really for cooking. It’s so nice to see different methods of using lemongrass. As usual, awesome content!
