1996 was a very good year for Capcom. You had this, Street Fighter Alpha 2, X-Men VS Street Fighter and Street Fighter EX, Resident Evil. All these games came out when I was 6 yrs old playing them all with my Uncle.
Kinda hard to blame that on Crazy Talk when this entire game is bootleg Star Wars, since it was originally created to be a 3D Star Wars fighting game. They might as well call the characters Fluke Starrunner and Flan Bolo for how subtle the changes are.
+The NEW Nile Ue Ue Fly >All DLC is bad Hahaha dumbass You telling me KOF14's DLC is a rip-off? Because it definitely doesn't feel like they kept characters out to sell them DLC is good when it's like that Bad DLC is the new BlazBlue
CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG Everyone but the RWBY girls are just getting some tweaks to fit. On that note, they made Blake and Yang permanently free DLC to make up for separating the girls.
STAAAAR GLAAADIATOR shiiiiiiit Brings back memories of (when i was 9) the time my brother 1st brought it had no clue what it was miss the PLASMA SWORD series love to see it make a comeback someday
Visually, this game is amazing. Bright and colorful stages and characters. Animated stages. No (or at least minimal) slowdown. In 1996? I'm impressed. The gameplay may be slow and clunky, but it seems to function properly.
Friday Night Furry Hot Zone Featuring Woolie. Watch as it turns into Saturday Morning since it takes Woolie over 12 hours to coordinate his fur color to his Reboot button and mood.
The stages are great. Especially the one in outer space, the cargo bay with the floating containers, the platform with the rings around it, and the one in the city!
The problem is that they refuse to learn the game. Theyre trying to play it like street fighter just because its capcom. Theres tekken-like ten strings. And no supers. Its not Marvel.
Just going by the date this came out I can tell you exactly what this is. This is Capcom trying to se if street fighter can work in a 3D space without actually risking the Street Fighter is in case it was bad. Kind of like how they made Dino Crisis to test the 3D waters for Resident Evil.
+Kaz Kobb I know right! I've never played this game but I can clearly see it doesn't belong in the "scrub" area. Pat going on and on about stolen assets makes me want to punch him really fucking hard on his face.
ReachStudioPro I wouldn't have minded them not liking the game at all(not everyone has the same preference), but Pat's "it's a rip-off!" whining has seriously made this Scrublords episode hard for me to watch. Normally, hearing him being bitchy is usually entertaining, but not this time for some reason.
That soundtrack... Unless I'm mistaken it plays a track until it's finished, then moves on to the next track, instead of being like a normal game where the track starts at the start of a match and ends at the end of the match. Edit: Okay, at the very end of the video they say that there is no music in-game, so what I'm hearing was obviously put in after the video was recorded.
Will Keaton theres music, they just couldnt figure out how to make it work. or how to get to the options menu. Or how to do any of the strings. They are truly our scrublords
This is one of the only two fighting games I've ever played on an actual arcade cabinet (the other being Tekken 5). It wasn't nowhere close '96, though, more like 2005 or some shit. It's incredible it was preserved in some shitty bar in a summer house rental place. In Poland, no less. Anyway - that fucking weird-ass green guy with the yo-yos, that was my guy. There was one other kid around my age, and we played this a lot, but for the life of me I can't remember who he played as, usually. His mom played as Gerelt, though, I remember that one vividly. Probably because she only played once. She called him a gentleman, or a pretty-boy or something like that. Funnily enough, I sure as fuck don't remember anything about this game, other than the name and those two characters. Also - fuck you, Pat. This game belongs in Fisticuffs.
Sometimes the Zaibatsu comes up completely ass. This game was a lot of fun, has good(for the time) graphics, the mechanics were different, and the music was sex. I can't say I played this game as much as Soul Blade, but it's not deserving of a Scrublords.
I think I own a copy of this game but I have no idea when I would have acquired it. Also there's something about hearing those 1980s-1990s sword slashing and clanging sound effects that makes me happy in a weird way.
Yoshimitsu is my favorite Freak Pick tbh. Dude has moves where he stabs himself, flies like a helicopter, and bounces around on his sword like a pogo stick.
Kevin Hernandez They must really hate this game, even though everyone else (includeing me) loves this game. Werid Update: Now that I actually have seen the gams in action.... I can see why they hate it.
I don't get the scrublord status, the animation and character design in this game are great. I even really liked some of the stages and music. If it were just faster I think it'd be a great fighting game throwback, still pretty good though. Easily way better than some of the shit that they've played on fisticuffs.
theres something profound about having a fighting game, where just about all the characters in the character select screen have portraits, except for this one guy who has a picture of 2 cucumbers instead of a picture of his face
Wow I can't believe they gave that MvC2 character his own game.
J Eisel I was going to post the exact same thing.
He did, it was called Cyberbots
CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG Dude you're either too young or not yet born in 90's. Cyberbots happened.
Star Gladiator came out long before MVC2, this is Hayato's origin game
@@ShaneDouglas713 That’s the joke.
Woolie’s face when he opens the door and Matt screaming at the now-nonexistent Liam never gets old. I love the Scrublords intro.
1996 was a very good year for Capcom. You had this, Street Fighter Alpha 2, X-Men VS Street Fighter and Street Fighter EX, Resident Evil. All these games came out when I was 6 yrs old playing them all with my Uncle.
Pat in every other fighting game ever: "This move/sound/character/effect is stolen!"
Kinda hard to blame that on Crazy Talk when this entire game is bootleg Star Wars, since it was originally created to be a 3D Star Wars fighting game. They might as well call the characters Fluke Starrunner and Flan Bolo for how subtle the changes are.
Character does a jab. "Look at this move they stole from this game we like more". Every time.
Scrublords?! B-but... Hayato is the coolest...
that one guy is just dudley with a sword
Blue Mary confirmed as the last DLC character of the batch for KoF XIV. It's a good day.
And Shermie entered waifu wars.
I know who I'm maining.
+The NEW Nile Ue Ue Fly
>All DLC is bad
Hahaha dumbass
You telling me KOF14's DLC is a rip-off?
Because it definitely doesn't feel like they kept characters out to sell them
DLC is good when it's like that
Bad DLC is the new BlazBlue
Maybe free DLC?.
CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG Everyone but the RWBY girls are just getting some tweaks to fit. On that note, they made Blake and Yang permanently free DLC to make up for separating the girls.
Damn pinko commies always wanting more free shit.
Raptor man with a skull hammer. Thats a metal ass alien.
DOWN JUMPS!?
DOWN JUMPS!!!???
You press DOWN..... to go UP.....
hello!
Arc Ray hey Ray. Branching out to fighters?
Serpico's Beard it's like digging up
YOOOOOO! I played this as a kid.
I remember that Saturn guy, dumb looking alien who may as well be part of Jiren's team.
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 I was just gonna say he looked like El Hermano 😂
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 he is
He would go "Somebody stop me!" Like that green character from the Jim Carrey comic book movie, Kick-Ass 2.
STAAAAR GLAAADIATOR shiiiiiiit Brings back memories of (when i was 9) the time my brother 1st brought it had no clue what it was miss the PLASMA SWORD series love to see it make a comeback someday
I never noticed that sign in Liam's spot...
Why did you have to point that out? :...(
The “Every step you take” one?
f
Hypno-Thorax what happend to Liam? Haven't tuned in for a while
EastlakeRasta7 He left but still streams. He uploads to RUclips and has a schedule. He also does videos with Matt, like Life is (hella) Strange.
Is Gore the adult version of that weird alien from "Mac and Me"?
So all those shitty games in the last few weeks have been Fisticuffs but Star Gladiator is a Scrublords?
These guys are top tier shitlords.
Traitor To Heaven i agree this looks passable as something to have fun with
I think they're screwing with us.
I mean, they had fun with Cruz Brothers, unlike this
RollCritFail They had fun once the huge crazy particle effects came into play. As well as some of the wacky effects.
Scrublords.. *In space?!*
_Coming to a bargain bin near you_
I read that in the "Big Green dead!?" voice
Look forward to the crossover episode with the Ninja Turtles!

Ah yes, Monday afternoon battlebois
Is that a Yogscast reference, or blind coincidence?
Characters that could have save MVCI include:
Richter The D Yep.
Goku
"Ecks Men"...? Who the the "Ecks Men?"
Saturn
Do you mean... FUNCTIONS?!
I knew Kappa would be a kappa, but I hoped it would be fighting cucumbers anyway.
Star Gladiator? Russell Crowe? Divorce auction?
"We are all Space free now..."
The Pickles see you later space cowboy?
Whaaa?!? Scrub Lords for Star Gladiator?
Thanks to this video i will now use the "Freak Pick" as an actual term
Capcom's Soul Edge? Or... Capcom's... TOSHINDEN!
DEADLEH RAVE!
BEAT YOU UP!
What if Star Gladiator is the game capcom decides is its big return?
If It's more like the sequel, then that'd be a good thing.
They’re like “RE7 and MH:W are NOTHING compared to Star Gladiator: EX Hyper Calibur Zelkin Mode EX 9999”
"I've been yelling about Darkstalkers for years, and yet management decided to bring this shit back? What the hell!?" - Ono
The gameplay reminds me a lot of a game called zero divide.
Can't be anymore worse than MvCI.
Diego Brando vs Dudley
Justin Kloss scary monster vs Joseph jostar with a sword
"Look at me, Star Gladiator, Home owner!"
The stages are great. Especially the one in outer space, the cargo bay with the floating containers, the platform with the rings around it, and the one in the city!
The combo strings for this game were really ahead of its time. Pretty decent arcade game for the 90s
But Hayato's so cool
but Sol Badguy is the coolest Mary Sue
It's slow and clunky but for 1996 the graphics and character designs are pretty cool. An anime based on this could be fun.
Star Gladiator is one of my
personal favorites when I was
a teen.
10:30 Bootleg Chewbacca with horns going up against Bootleg Reaper from Overwatch. Exactly how I'd imagine it.
Best Super Combo: B, B, A, K, A. (b-baka)
The problem is that they refuse to learn the game. Theyre trying to play it like street fighter just because its capcom. Theres tekken-like ten strings. And no supers. Its not Marvel.
"look at those textures you can actually see them on this direct feed emulator footage"
Obligatory "But it's Friday!" comment.
It's Saturday in Japan
Its 2 am Saturday where I am.
11am Saturday down in Australia for me.
Trygve Plaustrum 1:11pm Saturday in New Zealand.
Thanks for ruining the joke, West Pacific. (or, more specifically: Kiwis, Emus, and Weebs).
Transcending dustbins--and the world.
Ganymede, Jupiter III
A tale of barrel scraping, eternally retold.
Aww man but i like Hayato, and bilstein is super cool
He a ninja with a lightsaber katana... AND A BULLET BELT!!!
Just going by the date this came out I can tell you exactly what this is. This is Capcom trying to se if street fighter can work in a 3D space without actually risking the Street Fighter is in case it was bad. Kind of like how they made Dino Crisis to test the 3D waters for Resident Evil.
Miss you guys so much.
How is this game Scrublords? It's awesome.
+Kaz Kobb I know right! I've never played this game but I can clearly see it doesn't belong in the "scrub" area. Pat going on and on about stolen assets makes me want to punch him really fucking hard on his face.
It's not the best but it ain't scrublords level
Feels more personal than objective
The gameplay itself reminds me of a game called zero divide.
Kaz Kobb I whold argue that about Plasma Sword but this game controls like horse ass
ReachStudioPro I wouldn't have minded them not liking the game at all(not everyone has the same preference), but Pat's "it's a rip-off!" whining has seriously made this Scrublords episode hard for me to watch. Damn, I thought it was the game. I really liked that, it made the experience very atmospheric and seamless.
This is one of the only two fighting games I've ever played on an actual arcade cabinet (the other being Tekken 5). It wasn't nowhere close '96, though, more like 2005 or some shit. It's incredible it was preserved in some shitty bar in a summer house rental place. In Poland, no less.

This game belongs in Fisticuffs.
Honestly, this looks better than most PS1 3D fighters outside of Tekken.
It's funny you mentioned Darkstalkers. I think that Donovan is the reverse freak.
15:40 - Okay that stage and its music is just fantastic.
"You forgot the cookies..."
Sniff sniff.
This game is absolutely not Scrublords level of bad. It’s not EVEN bad.
I still remember June's combos in this game (well except her plasma combo). This game has some serious tech.
Kappah has written player 1 on his shell.
10/10
I wonder whether it's part of his outfit so it changes to P2 when he's on the right.
Bilstien looks like ancient armor from Breath of the wiled.
There was Primal Rage toys. I had like 4 of them.
Loved this game as a kid
Never Back Down: THE BACK DOWN!!!
Nostalgia overload
Maybe because it was *supposed* to be Teras Kasi
Scrublords....now that's a name I haven't heard in years....
Sometimes the Zaibatsu comes up completely ass. This game was a lot of fun, has good(for the time) graphics, the mechanics were different, and the music was sex. I can't say I played this game as much as Soul Blade, but it's not deserving of a Scrublords.

I hear you, they're pure 80's and 90's anime sound effects.
I rented this game once when there was nothing really left and I bought it the next weekend. I loved this game
Maybe this is a Scrublords becuz of the competence level of the players? Look up the specials, especially Gore and Zelkin.
At 1.5x speed it looks dope though.
I played way too much of this game as a babby. I unironically loved it at the time.
MvCi: "I forgot the Hayato."
Us: "YOU FORGOT THE HAYATO?!"
I subscribed simply after I have seen the intro...
Wasn't disappointed when I expected a "What's wrong with your faaaace?!"
Yoshimitsu is my favorite Freak Pick tbh. Dude has moves where he stabs himself, flies like a helicopter, and bounces around on his sword like a pogo stick.
Why is this game on the saturdaymorning scrublords its a great game :(
Kevin Hernandez They must really hate this game, even though everyone else (includeing me) loves this game. Werid
Update: Now that I actually have seen the gams in action.... I can see why they hate it.
Mostly because they themselves are scrublords...every game is bad if you don't know how to play it.
idk this game looks like Soul Edge but more slower and weird also came out 1 year after Soul Edge
Kevin Hernandez ikr?!
Agreed, I've never seen this before, but it seems both better and hyper than Cruz Brothers, which was at least half a fisticuffs.
Star Gladiator being Scrublords is just offensive
Sure Pat... Bilstein surely is Nightmare... In a time when Nightmare wasn't introduced and Soul Calibur wasn't even out.
Man, the game looked cooler than what I remembered playing it. This game really did not aged well. Bilstein is still bad-ass tho.
Damn this reminds me of evil zone
Ah yes, I love Friday Morning Scrubicuffs.
June’s hot tho...
The one redeeming factor
Yeah thats the stuff i was waiting for
I used to love this game as a kid. The soundtrack was amazing too, it sucks that it doesn't play on most emulations
Correction, it was only called Plasma Sword by dumb USian marketing.
Aww yiii played this shit so much as a kid
So Criticom when?
My favorite hypebeasts
Saturn, the Hero!
I didn't even know Kappah existed. Though now having Byakko in the second game makes sense.
I for one love Tera Kasi!
I don't get the scrublord status, the animation and character design in this game are great. I even really liked some of the stages and music. If it were just faster I think it'd be a great fighting game throwback, still pretty good though. Easily way better than some of the shit that they've played on fisticuffs.
I never clicked so fast!!!! Let’s gooooo!!
For anyone wondering, you get one super per round. It's weird. You just get 1.
Saturn may be the best character I have ever seen in a fighting game
The thumbnail looks like white Sol Badguy.
Tim curry : SPACE !
theres something profound about having a fighting game, where just about all the characters in the character select screen have portraits, except for this one guy who has a picture of 2 cucumbers instead of a picture of his face
Its like 9:05 PM here so its a satuday night scrublord for me
This game was more about button combo that do cool things (abba or w/e) than normal supers.
This game is so cool!
I found it funny how throughout the whole video they were naming all the things Bilstein reminded them of and none of them mentioned Darth Vader.
man i loved this game as a youth, they are missing out on things like hyato making his sword as long as the screen
can we talk about how the bird guy is just Storm Eagle
I only know these characters from snk vs capcom card fighters clash
