So sorry for your loss. My Dad is the same way- still- at 97! He LOVES line dancing! Actually my parents met at a dance, on the dance floor at Howard University. Dad cut in while Mom was dancing with someone else. They met and were married 68 years before Mom passed away.
I LOVE this song, I LOVE this dance (used to dance this too) and I LOVE your dad!! I watch this video from time to time and he's always the one I watch. Thank you SO much for sharing about your dad! It was wonderful to read (my dad was a WWII vet also) about my favorite video star. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm very happy he lives on in this video that makes so many people happy! ❤ I'll never stop watching it. Blessings to your family.
Mannnnna! my Cousin turned 60 and she had this song played at her birthday party, everybody was jamming! including the Great Great Great pickneys!!! Please send it or post
OOOOOO C'EST BON!! OUI TU M'DIS PAS MEZ AMI, THIS SURE IS THE HEART OF GOOD MUSIC. SHOUT OUT FROM OPELOUSAS, LA - THE ZYDECO CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!!! CAJUN/CREOLE COUNTRY ET TOI!!!!!
I just saw this dance at a cabaret last Friday night. It is so tight! I GOT DAT! I teach water aerobics and I'm going to teach it in the water along with the Electric Slide, Booty Call, Cha Cha Slide and Detroit Hustle! Et toi! DC Dolly
it would be great if the guy in the peach suit and white hat would do a slowed down instructional video of this line dance i would love to learn to do it to this tune Kush Kush and post it on youtube for everyone that would love to do it as great and smooth as he does think about it Mr Smooth if you are ever in the Cleveland area look me up I'd pay for a personal lesson.
I love it, just plain ole' good dancing, no popping and dropping, and all that jazz.. I just can't get the steps down. I need a Kush Kush for Dummies video
I have seen this dance a total of 3 times in the past 2 years. It took forever to find this video. The next time I hear it at a party, I will have down!!!!
Keep on watching it and trying it. I did and picked it up and I know it takes me a while to catch on. I love it also. I hope to download the song and take it to my line dance class.
Memories of my family, Louisiana "refugees" in California. No matter what you did for a living, or what neighborhood you lived in...on Friday Nights...U wuz CREOLE! Such a shame, the cultures of Louisiana (creole, cajun..etc) are becoming as forgotten as the broken french from the region. Tryin' my best though to keep it alive!
It's hard to see but the Steps are: Shuffle Right, Left, Right Step up on the left, cha-cha-cha back on the right, cha-cha-cha half turn up, cha-cha-cha half turn back cha-cha-cha 1/4 turn right, dance starts over.
This video is cool, really. Oh, I'm going to practice that step no doubt. All of them are so confident of their steps they're not even watchin' the others feet. Slick.
Thank you to all who have enjoyed this video clip. It is one of several dances done for the taping of our now discontinued local cable TV show, "Dancing On Line". The song, "Kush, Kush" is part of a collection owned by the DJ for that night, and try as I might, I just cannot track him or the song down. Your best bet would be to do a search for the song, and download it from whatever source is available. B. K. Hart Imani Bros. Multimedia Assoc. Producer, "Dancing On Line" TV show
I am a two left feets for this but it seems so easy and fun watching the video...I will give it a try..I let you know if I trip and end up with a broken hip at the hospital here in Amsterdam lmao...thanks for posting it :)
@TheMsCreole Actually, I learned this dance in CA... My adoptive mother and her RV group learned this dance and they play it every Christmas at their Christmas Party in Sacramento...

What I love about Zydeco is that it's truly inter-generational. You see elderly people and teenagers dancing to the same music. Very family friendly!
This was one of the first Zydeco songs i heard yearssss ago and loved it ever since.
The name of the song is "Kush Kush" from the album "We Bringin' The Heat".

The beat of this song sounds exactly like a slowed-down version of "I'm on My Way" by Zydeco Force.
I downloaded the song from Limewire. It's listed as "Nooney & Zydeco - Kush Kush" from his 'We bringing the Heat" Album.
Awesome coordination.
Great stuff! I wish this happened in the UK.
