The chorus and orchestra was all Jimmy Page as well, what to speak of the melody of the song was written for guitar. @@julesrose7738 Nope...where I grew up (A medium sized city in the south) Led Zeppelin never got near us, unless maybe they were in Memphis or St. Louis, but I was a senior in 1981 and didn't get to St. Louis or Memphis for a visit until Led Zeppelin had already gone KAPUT! The only bands that would come to my town were Rush and Cheap Trick, and they came just about every year so I have seen them plenty of times. Later YES came through so I was able to strike that off of my bucket list. It was the Talk concert tour, and although Yes had been slowly going downhill with their new stuff (just my opinion) the Talk album was simply incredible, as good as 90125 but not getting any radio hits. Are you a Yes fan...you have to check out Talk.
      As far as pick-in-mouth disease, I have three instrumentals I made up that require plucking at the end, and I am getting pretty good at stuffing the pick between my lips fast enough to not lose the beat. One of those songs is actually called My Pick Tastes Funny.

    Your reactions are so true to the emotions stirred by the song. This is one of those Led Zeppelin tunes that proves how varied their music was. They are always talked about as being one of the fathers of heavy metal, but they drew their influences from an incredibly wide range of music. Blues, folk, rock n' roll, jazz, surf music, classical, soul, music from non-Western cultures... they ingested it all and what came out was Led Zeppelin music. Well done on another great video.

      @@henriettaskolnick4445 know the exact quote you speak of.
      Do think Jimmy did his best work when challenged and motivated. When he brought Achilles to the band (riff and concept), Jones' commented it would be impossible to do Live! To this day Page still says he's very proud of that song and is his favorite to play live !

    You two are amazing. You hear so many details in the music, the way the music relates to the lyrics, and you already have figured out a way to talk about it. When you get to college you definitely should take as much music history as you can. You will love it and you'll learn new languages for explaining what you hear.

    I'm a big fan of Led Zeppelin from grade school until now. "Stairway To Heaven" is the first Led Zeppelin song that my late dad and elder brother taught me to play in guitar. Since then i became not just a fan but a believer and "The Rain Song" has always been one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. I love them so much and i love the fact that you guys love Led Zeppelin too. Very few people in your generation knew how great and legendary Led Zeppelin was. Rock 'N' ROLL to you cuties. I'm going to subscribe to your channel. Sending you my love from the Philippines. ❤️🤘

    This is beautiful. Now go listen to LED Zeppelin at the MSG 1973 version done by 4 guys. It’s equally beautiful in its own way. The story I heard about this song, is that Bonzo and Jimmy Page were talking with George Harrison of the Beatles, and he said that Zeppelin never does ballads. Jimmy wrote this. This was an especially wonderful reaction. Thank you.

    UPON US ALL, A LITTLE RAIN MUST FALL! How epic is that? I know people wanted the song from the MSG concert, but I am glad your dad chose this version. A mature Plant & Page from the 90's. This song was not going to have vocals, at first, but Page wanted Plant to sing. Please listen to the original when you can. You will appreciate the song more. This song is also on the DVD you received-The Song Remains The Same! Plant is amazing in concert singing it-full of emotion. Loved your comments and both of you were spot on with them. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs. They were told by another musician (George Harrison from The Beatles) they should do a love song & there you have it. Glad you both felt emotions when listening to the song. I always do. I would love to see you both react to another rain song by Zeppelin-Fool In The Rain! You keep saying Zeppelin brings something new each time, they do in the song I mentioned. You will like it. Hope everyone is staying safe! Blessings & Love! 💖

      Excellent! Just one little correction, actually the song that was planned to be an instrumental is The Song Remains the Same, not The Rain Song. Long live the mighty Zeppelin!

      @suzycanusazep-girl6845 4 года назад

      @@leonardosmaniotto thank you for clearing that one up. I read some place The Rain Song was to be an instrumental only as the melody was so beautiful but then Page decided the song would be better with Plant singing so he had Plant write the lyrics. I guess you can't rely on articles these days as you never know if it is true or false...lol. I know my Zep history as I am a huge fan but thanks for calling me out on this one. Greatly appreciate it! ✌

      Thank you Suzy for liking our reaction! Our dad always tells us that Led Zeppelin are so loved that different people have different choice of concerts! And he went with this one! LOL! I believe that Led Zeppelin can play a baby's rhyme song and Mia and I would be happy to listen o that! LOL! ! Mia and I love them, even though we were missing John Bonham and John Paul Jones, we still loved the way that both Page and Plant played and interpreted the song! : )

      @@danasfaith5738 you are welcome. I could not wait for the two of you to react to the song. I like the fact your dad decided to go with the Plant & Page version when they toured together in the 90's. A bit different from the Zeppelin days but it seemed to work & fans went to the concerts. Bonham & Jones were missed...I agree with you on that. As I mentioned, you can always watch the DVD a loyal fan sent with Plant singing The Rain Song from the MSG concert. He nailed it. I laughed about the baby rhyme song comment...lol. So true! As I mentioned in my main comment, down the road, please have your dad review Fool In The Rain for the two of you to react to. Bonham makes the song...trust me. A different sound for the band. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more Zeppelin and other artists! Let's keep the music journey going! Blessings and love! 💖
