  • Hey you guys! Hopefully you enjoy our reaction to The Rain Song! Mia and I absolutely love Led Zeppelin and we were so into the song! Led Zeppelin has the magic of making you feel so many emotions and we hold so much respect for them! If this song didn't make you feel anything, we do't believe you! LOL! Additionally, even though we loved the performance we were saddened that we did not to see John Bonham and John Paul Jones! If you'd like to see more reactions like this definitely comment down below! And as always stay safe and stay tuned for upcoming videos! We love you guys!

    I remember asking my dad at age 13 to buy Led Zeppelin 4, at K Mart around 74 or 75. After that I was hooked man. This song in my opinion Jimmy Pages best song writing ever. The chorus and orchestra was all Jimmy Page as well, what to speak of the melody of the song was written for guitar. This is highly advanced guitar playing combined with Robert Plants voice.... it's the best. Nobody could touch them, they are truly the best rock band ever!

    Wow, they nailed that performance. That is good quality sound for a live show also. I noticed the pick being thrown away also. I always stick mine in my mouth when I want to switch to plucking the strings instead of strumming. When you throw the pick there is always the chance that it will stick to your fingers. For real.

      Ok girls, since you loved that
      Video, you need to see a earlier Live stage performance, with them Standing on Stage. You see Jimmy lose himself in the mellowness of the melody. It's almost hypnotic to watch him.
      And Bonham's drums are epic!

      Wow they sure nailed it. I was impressed with the Orchestra too! I'm glad to hear you're not just a Zeppelin fan but also play Guitar too! Your right about the pick sticking to your fingers, I've noticed Jimmy has a pick in his mouth at times. He's also had them slip and fall, and someone runs up to give him one. He had a great crew I'm sure. I'm happy I saw Page and Plant in '98, they sounded great then too. I hope you did too!

      @@julesrose7738 Nope...where I grew up (A medium sized city in the south) Led Zeppelin never got near us, unless maybe they were in Memphis or St. Louis, but I was a senior in 1981 and didn't get to St. Louis or Memphis for a visit until Led Zeppelin had already gone KAPUT! The only bands that would come to my town were Rush and Cheap Trick, and they came just about every year so I have seen them plenty of times. Later YES came through so I was able to strike that off of my bucket list. It was the Talk concert tour, and although Yes had been slowly going downhill with their new stuff (just my opinion) the Talk album was simply incredible, as good as 90125 but not getting any radio hits. Are you a Yes fan...you have to check out Talk.
      As far as pick-in-mouth disease, I have three instrumentals I made up that require plucking at the end, and I am getting pretty good at stuffing the pick between my lips fast enough to not lose the beat. One of those songs is actually called My Pick Tastes Funny.

    UPON US ALL, A LITTLE RAIN MUST FALL! How epic is that? I know people wanted the song from the MSG concert, but I am glad your dad chose this version. A mature Plant & Page from the 90's. This song was not going to have vocals, at first, but Page wanted Plant to sing. Please listen to the original when you can. You will appreciate the song more. This song is also on the DVD you received-The Song Remains The Same! Plant is amazing in concert singing it-full of emotion. Loved your comments and both of you were spot on with them. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs. They were told by another musician (George Harrison from The Beatles) they should do a love song & there you have it. Glad you both felt emotions when listening to the song. I always do. I would love to see you both react to another rain song by Zeppelin-Fool In The Rain! You keep saying Zeppelin brings something new each time, they do in the song I mentioned. You will like it. Hope everyone is staying safe! Blessings & Love! 💖

Bonham & Jones were missed...I agree with you on that. As I mentioned, you can always watch the DVD a loyal fan sent with Plant singing The Rain Song from the MSG concert. He nailed it. I laughed about the baby rhyme song comment...lol. So true! As I mentioned in my main comment, down the road, please have your dad review Fool In The Rain for the two of you to react to. @@kenduffy5397 I think so but only 60%. From Pages hair it has to be around that time as it grayed in the 2000's. • @kenduffy5397
      @kenduffy5397 2 года назад +3

      @@Cashcrop54 Mark, I couldn't agree with you more. That’s also how noticed it had to be around that timeframe. Because of the ages Plant and Page look. It was very cool that they had a full string ensemble. It was VERY uncool to exclude not only a founding member but probably the most talented Multi-instrumentalist Bassist and arranger of just not Led Zeppelin, but of his era. Be seeing there was a full string section there was no need for John to play the Mellotron. Still no excuse to not have him playing his famous 1962 Jazz Bass! If they wanted to strictly keep it an acoustic set up he was more than capable of holding his own on upright bass. Though knowing John as an A1 classically trained musician. He would have left the Double bass duties to an expert upright bass player. Also, it would have been AWESOME if John was the Conductor! It probably would have sold 3/4 more than it did, had he arranged and conducted the entire string section! John was an expert in string arranging especially full ensembles. He learned these skills first hand growing up as the son of his professional musician and Big Band arranger father. Along with his mother who was a classically trained Pianist & Vocalist. It would have kept Plants & Pages “Led Zeppelin’s” reputation intact. They did not feel the repercussions at first. Though, as time went by? As would be expected. A music writer eventually found & asked John. “Why didn’t you perform with Jimmy and Robert?” His answer was disturbing at best & sad a worst. (I’m paraphrasing) “Well, they never called me and asked if I would like to join them” Writer: “Would you have played with them if they called?” John: “Well, we’ll never know the answer to that, because I was never asked!” “ I’ve known them practically my inter adult life & had they asked me? I’m not sure I could have said no“ “Me and Maureen have had the same phone number for over 30 years now” Writer: “How does that make you feel?” John: “I will admit, I was a bit taken back by it all. I didn’t know about it until everyone else did.” I read somewhere Mark that JPJ read in a news article that the Beatles were so famous that they couldn’t go anywhere without getting mobbed. So from the very beginning, he told himself “I don’t want to live like that!” That was the last thing I wanted for myself. I didn’t want to have the privilege of travelling the world and not being able to go outside and enjoy different towns, people, cultures. I didn’t want to travel across America in a hotel room & a limousine. Especially when in those extremely rare times my wife would travel with me and leave the children home with their grandparents. That’s where it’s believed the animosity started when he (JPJ) would sometimes walk out a different door with a hat & sunglasses on. So as not to be recognized by fans. Whereas Robert and Jimmy loved the attention & would walk out the main door & get mobbed by fans, especially very attractive female fans. John didn’t want any part of it. Now with that said. Lol, JPJ partied, fornicated & lived the life of a Rock Star just as much as the other 3, if not more?! He just kept it on the DL. I don’t know about you Mark, but I call that being smart in my book! But not just smart in my book. I believe it was Peter Grant (don't quote me that it was Grant. It may have been a member of their Entourage) who said “Jonesy? Ah, Jonesy was the easiest one of them all to handle.” “He never talked?He goes and do his own thing and always is back in time for soundcheck. Then he’d go backstage with other the boys, eat & knock a few back while preparing to go on stage. “He did partake in the debauchery just as much as the rest then for the first few years.” “But he never had bad press strictly about him.” Anyways, at some point in late 77 to 80. He often started to stay in a different hotel? I’m sure it was to get away from it all? Especially when his wife Maureen was with him! But apparently, it didn’t go over well with Jimmy & Robert (lol come on, the Dude has his wife on the road) Bonzo? Well, Bonzo, was Bonzo & he could careless about where or what Jonesy was doing. As long as he stood in his same spot every night on stage so I (Bonzo) could read JPJ’s body language if I couldn’t hear him or they both decided to improvise, only if they COULD hear each other. Which, as I’m sure you know… Led Zeppelin generally improvised a lot. Especially when the fans didn’t want them to leave the stage! JPJ was never late or missed any rehearsals, soundcheck’s and performances. That’s one thing Jimmy did do (& John) everything and anything in regards to the band and music was very strict and ALWAYS professional! The other stuff, away from the band & music? He didn’t care, why would he? It’s not a secret anymore, that he loved his Heroin. I don’t mean to ramble Mark but as a bass player myself. I tend to take it a little too personal, sorry. JPJ is one of my Heroes! He wrote some of Zeppelins biggest hits! These are a few he wrote: Black Dog, No Quarter, Royal Orleans, All My Love, How Many More Times, Fool in the Rain’, In the Light, Trampled Under Foot, The Rain Song etc.
