    Back controls are harder to see cause we always point the light in the downward position which angels the back screen away from and to high to see so you would have to drop the light to see the back panel adjustments. The side panel can always be seen not mater what angel the light is tilted too. You are not using the trigger for the Godox properly. Read the book or see another RUclips video about the controller.

    The discussion below comes from FJH Photography website regarding the Rovelight 600B. Do these limitations exist for the Jinbei HD610 Light.
    Q. Why would I get the XPLOR over the Rovelight?
    A. The Rovelight is awesome, but I have more creative freedom with the XPLOR. The Rovelight can't go lower than 1/16th when using HSS and the XPLOR can use HSS all throughout it's power range of 1/256th to full power. The XPLOR can also use HSS wirelessly. You need a pair of Yn622 Yongnuo triggers and a PC sync cord to use HSS with the Rovelight. With the R2 that arrives with the XPLOR you can see the power output of the strobe, change the power, and change the mode of the XPLOR remotely. The Rovelight's trigger can only fire the Rovelight at your camera's sync speed and adjust the power. You still have to manually turn on HSS with the Rovelight.

    1. Does Jinbei use Bowens mount like Godox?
    2. Are Jinbei working on an A/C powered option like Godox has (Godox you can replace the battery with a box that has A/C power cord).
    3. Does either brand make receivers that would trigger my Nikon speedlights with their strobe trigger? (for background or hair light)
    4. Have you tested both the HSS and the TTL of the Jinbel? (I've seen reviews of the Godox)
    5. Do you think these battery powered units - being a bit heavier d/t battery - require heavy duty C-Stands with a 1"x3" softbox or 42" octabox? (thinking about portability for on site shoots)
    Thanks!
    Art

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад +2

      1. Yes, the HD610 uses the Bowens S mount
      2. Yes, the AC battery adaptor is in development, expect the release in a month or two. Check our facebook page for a photo of the prototype.
      3. Yes, Jinbei have just released the TR612 receiver for Nikon Speedlights.
      4. Yes, check our other videos. HSS and TTL are being tested here ruclips.net/video/XTe9KMxW1TU/видео.html
      5. Which stand you need would depend more on wind conditions and the size of the light modifier than on the weight of the head. We have used a range of mid weight light stands for our HD610 outdoor reviews, but have not needed to use C-Stands.

    Jinbei is great but lots of info about the good of Godox was left out and I was just wondering why. Like the battery. I got over 1200 at 1/4 power with some juice left. Also the bag you show isn't what comes with the unit. If you bought this from Adorama, it comes with a nice carrying case plus the trigger. The bag you showed is from the extender and it's the old one at that. Plus, the extender from Adorama does come with a secure lock where the plug won't come out. Again, you didn't mention that. This is why I thought the comparison was one sided and biased.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад

      Did you read the Video description above? The video is exactly as described here. Also, not every Godox is sold by Adorama in the US and obviously by what is shown here some markets sell it without the lock adaptor, hence the warning, not every market sells it with the case.

    You spent a lot of time discussing the position of lcd, visibility of LCD, and navigating the menus. The whole purpose of these lights is to avoid touching the menus at all. Also, smart putting the AD600 on the left of your shooting position when discussing how "inaccessible" the lcd (that you don't touch) is, but if it was in the opposite position it would be more accessible. Thanks for the overview but the language throughout is very biased.

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  6 лет назад

      With a 2 light setup, one LCD screen has to be facing away. If we had the AD600 on the right then, this point would not have been as easily demonstrated. Yes, we are biased. We are not trying to hide that. We could have chosen to import Godox into Australia instead of Jinbei. We assessed both companies and chose Jinbei because we believe it is the better company with a better choice of products for our market. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, this is ours.

    Hey, you made the comparison between the 2 TTL versions of these flashes. Would you recommend the Jinbei 601 (supposedly) over the AD600 without TTL? The remote for the Jinbei seems easy to use, and the new bluetooth one is really interesting. I can get the Godox with a softbox and remote for 520euros, versus 500 euros for the Jinbei, with only a flash.

    One thing I'm not seeing in comparisons of these two strobes is the ease of replacing the bulbs. I have two AD600's and you can pull the bulb and replace it in seconds without tools. It's hard to tell what that process is like with the Jinbei, but it really appears to be a clone of the Profoto B1, which I understand can be a very difficult bulb replacement process. (Some dealers refuse to do it at all, in favor of sending the light to the manufacturer.) Can you share what that experience is like?
    Also, is the bowens mount on the Jinbei plastic or metal? Couldn't tell from the video, but I'm reassured by the metal bowens mount on the Godox AD600. Thanks for the comparison video!

      Hi James. I assume you mean the Flash Tube. The HD610 flash tube is user replaceable as are all Jinbei products currently. The flash tube is UV coated and we carry them in stock. The LED model lamp is rated at 50,000 hours and is not user replaceable, as would be the same for any LED model lamp currently used by any brand of light. Hope that helps.

      Cheers Art, glad it was helpful. Yes, the cool white 5W LED in the Godox will look more natural vs the warm white 20W LED in the Jinbei. But you dont photograph the modelling light, it's for seeing where the light is going to fall. The 3200K colour was chosen to match in with other lights which use an incandescent (Tungsten) modelling tight.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад +2

      The video was filmed on a camera set to 5600K, This is the only reason that it looks more natural, If the camera was set to Auto White balance then they both would look natural.

  • @caleidoo

    0:44, 4:04 and 4:12 Wrong. It's not all plastic. That mount has a metal tube inside. If you took the time and effort to check inside the mount, you would have seen it.
    11:15 my version has a velcro flap at the top where the cable to the remote head comes out. The one in the video might be the only version available for Australia, but RUclips is not only available in Australia. People from all over the world watch these videos to get correct information. Do research and tell viewers that there are other versions.
    11:32 that remote head is not "just an option". It upstages all the small differences with the Jinbei model you describe. In daily use, this remote is extremely handy. It also takes almost all the weight of the top of your light stand and makes it more stable overall. It makes the package very mobile. I have an assistant walking with the AD600 in the carrying bag around his shoulder and the remote head on a light stand with a modifier. So the weight up there is very doable. I could even carry everything myself and still take pictures with my other hand.
    The "danger warning" is overrated, that connection would only come off if you let the pack hang by the cable or pull it. If still not feeling confident, buy the Extension Head Locking Ring for 7 dollar / Euros. A non-issue.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад

      So please consider what are the cerated stops on your handle are made of? OK, and when these fail as some people have mentioned here that they do., then your metal tube inside the plastic handle will have zero affect. The point we make is very valid, who cares about the metal tube? the weight is held by the two plastic halves that have teeth that rub against each other and after time loose their grip. Read comments from actual users above who say this mechanism has failed on their units after heavy soft box use in a short time. Your comment on the danger of 10,000 volts plus is your opinion, as is ours, but based on industry experience. Maybe you have not seen what 10,000 volts plus can do?

    I saw the video wheer you tested the Jinbeis multishot capability. it was done at night. Most of my shots that involved multishots are in daylight, will Jinbei be able to handle multiburst shot at higher power? Like 3-5 shots without any issues? Thank You. I'm on the verge of buying this over godox/explor.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад

      Every flash currently on the market that does multishot, offers this at the lower power setting. NONE of them offer 20 FPS at full power for example. The Jinbei is as good as this gets and it's recycle at full is industry leading. No advantage even if you spend 3 times the amount. So I do not believe this is the decision maker for you, The other features are what you should focus your decision on. The New MSN TTL600 AC head is super fast nut not a battery head, and will recycle at full in less than 1 second.

    Hi.....I've just purchased a Jinbei HD610 and TR-Q6C Transmitter, (although they haven't arrived yet) believing that as it's a later model it will be superior AND the ability to work with a phone app for settings is a bonus.
    However I've since found out that maybe the Q6C does NOT have ZGB mode so will not communicate with Canon RT system speedlights............which was ONE reason I went for the Jinbei.
    Seems like a step backwards that the upgraded trigger does not come with this feature, so now it looks like I'm going to have to buy a 611 as well.
    Can you confirm that this is correct please?

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад +1

      I confirm the Q6C does NOT have ZGB mode.
      TR611C has RT control of Canon RT speedlights
      TR6QC has bluetooth for interaction with phones and tablets for use with the Jinbei App. This is useful for advanced light setups in a studio.
      The two triggers are for different purposes, so both will continue in the range.

    • @nickstevens8858

      Thanks for confirming that, bit of a pain in the butt tbh......was hoping for the ability to control a HD610 and a couple of speedlights while on location with the phone app.
      Guess I'll now have to also purchase a 611 to use for that purpose.

      Hi Again Ricky, the Jinbei TR611 trigger controls the Canon, Jinbei, and Yongnuo RT speedlights and the HD610. So the Jinbei TR611C transmitter replaces the YN-E3-RT transmitter. You can keep the YN-E3-RT as a spare :-)

    Sounds like you are pre-disposed to calling out the good of Jinbei and the bad of godox. One sided review. There's plenty good with the Godox and you left them out. This should have just been a review of Jinbei and left Godox out.

      We have already done several thorough reviews of the HD610. Many other videos have covered the features of the Godox. In the introduction of this video, we explain that some of our customers are asking how the Jinbei compares to the Godox. This comparison is for those customers considering both lights. We are not putting down the Godox, it is also a great light. Both lights have very similar features but we believe the Jinbei is better in terms of usability, and this is not talked about before, so we think we are bringing something new to people.

    • @smeghead61

      It is what it is....did you find it inaccurate? Having used both lights I can say it is obvious Jinbei were aiming at Profoto and not Godox when they designed this light.

      I too am looking at the Flashpoint Xplor 600 vs the Orlit 610 RT system and that's how I found this video. I have to agree that from the beginning, there was a pre disposition on which like you were going to promote. It was more of the negative vs this is not negative. Ill give you examples what I found were one sided. 1. When comparing modeling lights, not once did you mention the loud fan noise. I could clearly hear it in the video however not one time was the fan mentioned on how much louder one fan was vs the other. 2. The display. You showed how when mounted on a stand how easily one could read the display then you had the Godox on your left side and showed how the display was not easily accessible. If you had moved the Godox to your right, then the LCD would be easy to read. Also, failed to mention how if a light was 6ft up tilted 45degrees down how the Jinbei would probably be more difficult to read. 3. The ability to tilt the unit. You showed and quite effectively the difference between the two units. The Godox with their serrated positioning vs the Jinbei non serrated system. I would think the serrated system would be good for heavy softboxes and prevent slippage. I do like that you can position the Jinbei in any angle you want, but you made it sound like the Godox serrated system was a negative instead of the positives. Overall you did show the differences between the two. I liked that you showed the metal vs plastic base. Also the Flashpoint Xplor 600 does come with a bigger travel bag. Thank you for making the video.. it did help out a lot

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад +3

      We do think the HD610 is a better light when in real world use. We are aiming to demonstrate that here. We clearly state that in the title, and the intro. Here are some thoughts on your comments: 1. If you had to choose between a 5W LED with quiet fan, and a 20W LED with a louder fan, which is going to help you take better photos? 2. If you only ever shoot with one light, and you always position it on the right, the Godox screen position makes it a good solution for you. If you sometimes shoot with your light on the left, or with two lights, the Jinbei screen position is a better solution. We tested at acute angles, such as 6ft in the air, and on a 45 angle down, the high contrast Jinbei screen is much easier to read than the low res Godox screen. 3. With a heavy softbox on the light, the serrated mount will hold well, but it is even harder to adjust the angle of. A well constructed mount without serrations will also hold well, and not be difficult to adjust when high in the air and loaded with a heavy modifier. Anyone who has fought with a serrated mount will likely prefer an easy to adjust mount. We're glad you found the video useful, and we hope these further comments help you understand the subtleties between the two lights.

    The Godox ecosystem can't be beat. Their latest speedlights can control the AD600 along with the AD360 not to mention their own speedlights. The AD600 also has a remote head that has a handle. Yeah it's made out of plastic, but is good plastic. Not to say that the Jinbei is not good.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад +3

      So your AD600 can control Canon RT flashes natively? Can it be controlled by Iphone and Android app? Godox use their own Protocol, as do Jinbei, but Jinbei let you natively (no receivers needed) control Canon RT flashes. So not sure if "can't be beat" is accurate? Don't think this video is saying Godox is not good either.

    • @dirtyweapon
      @dirtyweapon 7 лет назад +1

      For the people using Canon RT flashes, I can the benefit, but for the price of that one Canon RT flash you can pick up two or three of the Godox TTL equivalent. On top of that, the Godox flashes will controll pretty much all of godox's other speedlights and studio strobes. This is why I say the Godox's ecosystem "can't be beat" What other Company out there has speedlights that can controll their on Studio strobes and speed lights? I can't think of any.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад +2

      I would say that a very low cost trigger is a far better way of controlling a flash system than using or sacrificing one of you actual lights to do the controlling, Jinbei can actually do this but I would rather use my lights as lights. You can use a "master" speedlight on a camera as a active part of you lighting, BUT then you start to move away from any form of creative lighting, so again why would do this? Do yourself a favour and use a trigger to control and keep your speed lights and studio lights as part of the creative lighting you bought them for. My 2 cents worth.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад

      As for low cost guns. Jinbei make Canon Native EX RT speed lights that work seamlessly with other Canon EXRT guns so same options are available for people wanting lower cost guns that are much less expensive than the original, BUT still work in the NATIVE Canon RT system rather than the Godox propriety system, This means you can share and match your Jinbei speed lights with Canon users, whereas Godox users can only do this with other Godox users.

    well, one can tell you guys are not selling godox gear =). Sure Godox has its weaknesses, but it sounds pretty biased to start with. Anyway, still some interesting points. By the way, the last thing i need, is having to connect my phone to the trigger for full control...

      There is no need to use your phone to control the trigger, you can access all the functions without a phone. For multi light setups, the large screen on a phone or tablet can make adjustments easier and faster, but it is optional.

    • @wilfriedfederphoto7
      @wilfriedfederphoto7 6 лет назад

      allright thanks. lets hope someday soon either jinbei or phottix or godox... will build something with less compromises. If Jinbei offered a Fuji trigger, well, then i would consider Jinbei. But even with the cactus trigger you need an extra device for power control on camera, so that is no option for me. And if they would build HotShoe Flashes. Thats the sweetness of Godox, you have an entire compatible ecosystem. And nothing against being biased, its just that i'm missing ...oh well its all been said by others =), cheers mate

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  6 лет назад

      We saw the Fuji prototype trigger from Jinbei in September, so expect an official release early next year. As with the Sony, Nikon, and Canon versions, the Jinbei triggers work with the Mars3, the HD610, and the HD601 battery lights, and the MSN TTL mains powered studio lights. Plus, they are backward compatible with previous generation Jinbei lights such as the HD600, providing a migration path for existing customers and a whole ecosystem of compatibility.

      It's the old version of the Godox because this video was made in February 2017. We will do updated comparisons as the new Jinbei models are released.

    it looks like the Jinbei's modelling light has poor color rendering index

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад

      The CRI of Jinbei LED lights such as the EF200 are 95+, so we expect the CRI of the HD610 modelling lamp is also 95+. Lets keep in mind, the LED is a modelling lamp, to help position the model BEFORE you shoot. The modelling lamp does not affect the photo. Also note, the LED colour is intentionally a warm 3200K, to colour match in with halogen modelling lights should you be shooting with a mix of HD610 heads and other flash heads.

      i perfectly understand differences between color temperature and rendering index, maybe i am wrong, just it appears like that for me, especially if you have full power, not much blue or green on your subject there, hard to be sure, i cannot find full spec where it is said what cri has the led module used as modelling light, who can guarantee that the led modules ef200 and hd610 have the same cri, just wondering based on your footage. very good comparison btw.

      Huh? It's a modeling light..

    • @nickstevens8858
      @nickstevens8858 7 лет назад

      I think the difference in modeling light colour is only down to the white balance that has been set on the camera used to film the video..........it wouldn't look like that to your eye, they would both appear white.

    Is there a sony alpha ttl hss wireless trigger for jinbei?

  • @LaneMcCall
    @LaneMcCall 7 лет назад +2

    It's 2017 and there's no Sony support so unfortunately this company will not succeed until they offer full TTL and HSS for the Sony shooters.

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад

      Lane, Sony TTL development and testing is complete. Production is about to start. We'll have triggers for Sony within a couple of months, and Jinbei will continue to succeed.

    • @LaneMcCall
      @LaneMcCall 7 лет назад

      PROtog I wish the company the best but look at the crowd that moved over to the Godox/Flashpoint system already. It will be hard to convince them to switch because of how well they perform across the board. Just re-title the video and you'll promote a 1% more likelihood of succeeding. Oh and better audio.

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад +1

      Lane, for those that already have a Godox, I'm sure they will be served very well. We're not trying to convert Godox users to Jinbei, rather, show people who are about to make a purchase how the two models compare.

    • @kozz1984
      @kozz1984 7 лет назад +1

      Bold statement claiming a company won't succeed because it didn't launch with Sony triggers. I have the Orlit 610 and it is better or equal to the Godox system in every way and slightly less expensive. The Orlit is worth it knowing the mount won't break because it's not made of cheap plastic unlike the Godox.

    is this where you down one product in order to promote another ? i am not even sure if you can call this a review.

    Sorry, I totally disagree with your comparison results. Display on the side is on downward placed strobes much better than a display on the back, which you cannot see. And a modelling light in tungsten on a strobe shows wrong colors compared to the strobe colors. And there a many more aspects.

    • @smeghead61
      @smeghead61 7 лет назад

      To disagree is you prerogative, thanks for your comments. Mostly the people here who disagree are Godox owners and the ones who are glad that we have shown the differences are people who are looking to buy.

      The 5D Mark 4 was not in the original HD610 firmware, but is in the current firmware. Please download and install the latest firmware on your trigger and your flash. If you need help, your retailer can help you with upgrading the firmware of both.

      Hi there! I have the same problem here... HD 610 doesn't work on my Nikon D810 in HSS mode, and I use TR-Q6n trigger. Just updated the firmware on both, but flash is now syncing with the trigger by C (canon) channel... OMG. And, of course, my camera can't trigger it anymore.
      Is there only one firmware available for all versions of the TR-Q6 trigger? I mean is it just one file for all cameras - nikon, sony, canon? It seems that they uploaded it for canon trigger only on their website. Can't find any firmware file for the nikon version of the trigger :(

      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад

      @Iurii, it s sounds like you have installed the Canon firmware on your Nikon Q6 trigger. Contact your retailer to get the Nikon Firmware and reinstall it.

    can a godox trigger control the jinbei power output?

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  6 лет назад

      No. I don't expect a Godox trigger can control a Profoto or a Broncolor head either. Each flash brand has their own protocol.

  • @sibaraku2023
    @sibaraku2023 5 лет назад +1

    Godox is better, better color constancy and better trigger. Jinbei is cheaper, the trigger sucks. The old trigger doesn't support new light, the new trigger doesn't support old light, but it is cheap. worse the price. You get what you pay for.

    Just got my Godox, and noticed the INSANELY POS thoughtless mount! selling it and getting the JIn Orlit...But have heard a number of folks with bad units not working....Hmmm

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад +1

      Phil, I see you found this video, so you can ignore my reply on our other video :-) We're not seeing bad units, rather, a couple of Orlit owners have incorrectly updated their firmware and caused issues. We do the firmware updates though our Jinbei dealer network so we are not having issues.

    • @artmaltman
      @artmaltman 7 лет назад

      Phil Indeblanc Can the firmware updates be done via Apple Macintosh computers? Photographers, at least in the USA, tend to favor Mac over Windows. I don't even own a Windows device at all.

    • @philindeblanc
      @philindeblanc 7 лет назад

      Art Altman that is a sad and bad assumption. Last few times and all the times I was at a photo get together, it was 75+% PC users. I own both platforms in the studio. The 3 Macs vs 4 PC systems. Now the front office uses the nice Mac, the other stays idle and gets used for some font or format related stuff and the 3rd is there for hires that prefer a Mac. The 4 workhorses churning out photos and editing are the PCs. Guess what? I'm not alone :-)

    • @artmaltman
      @artmaltman 7 лет назад

      The percentage using Macs is high enough in my experience to warrant attention.

    • @philindeblanc
      @philindeblanc 7 лет назад

      Art Altman I agree fully...just saying😉
      (I should also clarify the photo get together was by adibe and usually has over 130 to 250 attendents.)

    I'm sorry but biggest issue with this system is its name. Only CRAPHY beats JINBEI these days... What gear do you use man? Craphy! And Jinbei is something you get in your local Chinese restaurant.

    • @PROtogPhotographic
      @PROtogPhotographic  7 лет назад

      Jinbei means "Gold Standard" in Chinese. Many years ago when Honda, Hyundai, Samsung etc first launched in English speaking countries they also sounded weird. Once you experience the performance of Jinbei lighting, you'll get past the name and it will come to mean world class performance, reliability, and value, rather than the flash brand with the weird name.
