I saw this band live the night after Jani passed away ... thought the show was absolutely outstanding, especially his dedication to Jani. Maybe Jani is not replaceable, but Robert Mason is an outstanding performer!!!
As far as the surviving members of the classic Warrant line up are concerned meaning Erik, Steve, Jerry, Joey, etc. At least one time before they decide to hang it up for good, they owe to the fans to let the beautiful Maddi Lane to come up on stage with them and sing her dad's signature anthem and I don't mean Cherry Pie. She has already sang this song a couple of times. Let her come up there one time with them. I think it would be a very sweet gesture on their part.

I dunno man, I'm maybe coming at this from a different perspective a bit ; I admire good writing, and in this genre especially having been a part of it myself for many years, and this is a pretty memorable hair-band era ballad. Always liked the song, and really never heard anything better from them, so I can't call myself a fan of anything beyond this particular song. Anyways, my point is: in watching this clip not knowing if "this is the guy on the record" my initial reaction was if indeed it is the original vocalist then his voice has aged really well because it sounds pretty good here. Compare this with *anything* from live Def Leppard, or Whitesnake, or Cinderella etc etc etc from the past ten years and you'll understand. Some really feeble research clarified quickly that this clip was not Lane so I gotta give it a big thumbs up. He's carrying the torch really well. It's not like a band like Yes where the original iconic singer Jon Anderson is still alive and well (and singing like a million bucks) and the original group soldiers on without him with a salaried doppelganger. Mason used to have a killer voice.. still has a respectable one. Didn't do that horrible a job but i didn't like his interpretation on some parts. I agree though, you need someone to step up and they could have done a lot worse let's face it.
