Russ and his brother grew up spending a lot of time outdoors in and around Nevada. Whether hunting or hiking, the pair grew closer through their experiences outside. Russ was with his brother when they got into a terrible accident that resulted in his brother's passing. This experience took a toll on Russ and led him down a path of addiction. Thankfully, Russ was able to get sober and begin to live a life of meaning and purpose. Now Russ spends his time reconnecting with the outdoors and helping those around him with his work as Field Guide at Legacy Outdoor Adventures.
Legacy Outdoor Adventures is a gender-specific program for young men 18 and over who are struggling with mental health issues including substance abuse, trauma, unhealthy relationships, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
