Earthspark really isn’t that good in my opinion, the story line is great but they did it in such a weird way, I don’t know how to explain it. Also Starscream looked really goofy.

I think you mean the one at 10:21?
Basically: when transformers are low on energon they can malfunction, so when Soundwave was low on energon he tried to eject his minicon but it ended up malfunctioning and killing the minicon!
So Soundwave killed one of his minicons by accident
