I was having the lid issue as well. That went away real quick once I upgraded to the 4s lipo and put the jumper in the plug closest to the locking arm the cover has attached to it. Of course, like you I replaced both plugs off my Reaction 4s to the Traxxas connectors. That's my only real complaint like many others is the forcing of the battery cover, as well as the thin area's of the shell being much weaker and thinner that makes the shell tear much easier. Pretty sad part for 100 bucks.
just got mine in September love it so far replaced servo and front drive cups has a ton of mods already vitavon stuff next only thing I hate about it is the way it has no power off button 😑
I love my UDR. I have the RPM upgraded plastic trailing arms. I was gonna do the aluminum, but at that particular time, on the RPM ones were in stock at the hobby shop. They've been great though. And they have replaceable skids on them. Ive broken a bunch of front cv shafts though. They're cheap, but ill have to see if there's an upgrade for that
I loosened up the screws on the battery gate hinges a little for the extra clearance to fit over sized batts and its much easier to get the gate closed and way more easier to get the door slid into place and locked..
Thanks for mentioning that the battery connectors on the truck are Traxxas. I've watched several other videos on this truck and none of them mention this.
Steve, many thanks. I wanted a bit of feedback as to whether this format would work. I can borrow a few cars to ones besides the ones I've got. I shall work on some more on the days when I'm stuck at home! I nearly didn't buy this as I had an axial yeti I'd fitted with traxxas vxl running gear and I spent more time rolling it than driving it. I'll test it on blacktop sometime soon but I strongly suspect loose stuff is where it's at it's best
They were 5000mah 50C 3S ones BUT I've had a lot of problems with the balance leads failing in 2-3 months of purchase and killing off the battery. I think the balance leads maybe shrink wrapped on and not soldered either way I can't hand on heart recommend you get them. I'm a big fan of ovonic batteries at the minute
Peggy depends where you are going to drive it? If you are going to go on road a lot as well as off road then get the erevo 2.0 as the UDR will traction roll a lot on blacktop but it handles really well off road on loose dirt. The UDR handles a mite better at speed, but the erevo is better over jumps (Back flips, big air etc), the UDR like fast shallow jumps but it's not one to get for huge air or to do flips with. Hope that helps. Erevo maybe better for multi surfaces.
Floureon 2 x 3s Packs, they are an easy fit with the 3300mah ones, and a 'comfortable' fit (Read that as I have to lean on the car hard to shut the battery door) with 5000mah ones. I'd say if you're on the lookout for new packs for the UDR buy 4 x 3300mah ones, the easier fit is preferred, and you have spares to avoid carrying it home in the event the packs run out.

Adapters fit, just a squeeze. I use the same batteries on a lot of cars and the deans are the most common one. e.g. traxxas won't fit on arrma's! Easier to use adapters although I avoid the cheap ebay and amazon ones as they can fail or overheat.

I dont like how the fronts lift like that. it looks cool and feels good to drive but i had to swap the spares with the fronts already! the rims pull away from the tire, but the glue is stronger than the rim, so the rim is cracked

youtube have adjusted the notifications from the old 'always' setting to either 'always' or 'sometimes' - I only found this out from netcruizer. Sorry you didn't get one. Next one coming up at 10k.
2 standard size hard packs fit perfect in the compartment. There is not 7 -8 inches of travel its around 4.5 inches full down full up travel on the rear suspension.
6s - 2x3s Ovonics at the minute, although it was on floureons in this video. The ovonics I just tested in my erevo (search my recent videos). I would say I've just tested them in the UDR, just got back from my speed spot, UDR went 18 inches forwards...and the pinion came off!
Driftomaniacs e revo shock and rod ends if you get a shock rebuild kit take the rear shocks apart and take one of the rubber bump stops for the shock shaft put it inside the shock under the piston on the shaft then put it all back together it will keep the shock from coming out to far it’s like running limiting straps.
You know my Floureon batteries 2s 7.4V, 6200 mAh 40c, wouldn't last much more then 15 minutes in this truck. They would great in my rock-Crawlers and last a good long time. Just not in my UDR Fox. I ended up buying 2 Reaction 4s 14.8V 5000 mAh and stick one in at a time of course. They last in some cases over an hour or less depending on what I am doing with them. My Floureon batteries didn't even get below 3.8 per cell and the UDR would have the red light blinking and and you could see the power loss. Is anyone else having said issue? Good vid!
@@ToGrimmToWin untrue. I see 2s lipo's 100c. I have seen 4s lipo 25 and below. My 4s lipo's I have running are 50c. Just because my 2s lipo is 40c shouldn't be the soul problem. Look at all the 4s Lipo Traxxas batteries, they all are 25c. 🐹
Mate I'd rather snap the plastic trailing arms, and I have, than have the alloy trailing arms snap somthing else. Plastic suspention parts are expendable and cheap to replace to boot, I'd rather spend the $30 and have some spare ones in the toolbox.
thing of it is since fitting them I've not busted anything else. it's personal choice so i respect your decision to save some money but despite some huge abuse the rest of the car has held up fine. This is a very common mod, in general I only upgrade when stuff breaks, (BTW I just like good RC cars so I'm not a traxxas or arrma fanboy! If it goes well I don't care who makes it. Although one wonders if arrma are running scared of entering the solid axle market?). I've a losi SRR which despite rumors of it being 'weak' is far from it.

Nikola that's a great car to have. Now funny you should mention that as I've a castle 5700kv and a mamba x on the side next to it, which set me thinking....However need some uprated diffs first! The Granite is way more stable than the Stampede, if you go brushless I'd stick with a 3500-3600kv motor, it'll go like a rocket and yet lose none of that stability

Traxxas connectors aren’t built into it on the other side is a piece you can remove and modify or 3D print a new one that fits a different connector or hot glue ones you like in place problem solved
Thanks for the info and I appreciate you sharing that they can be modified, to anyone looking at them to all intents and purposes they are, the average person seeing one in a hobby shop isn't going to pick it up undo the body (which is screwed on) and look as to how you can remove or modify them. They're simply going to pick it up look at it and think they're built in. Thanks for sharing with people that they're not though as I appreciate you taking the time to provide some 'value added' info. Indeed I bet if I ask in my 2/3 LHS over the next few days they'll all think they're built in.
That'd be me! I keep trying to slow down when talking, often harder than it sounds. Regarding the lipo get your soldering out and remove the deans and solder the Traxxas connector on problem solve. :)

Kevin Talbot has a tutorial in changing the connectors in the chassis for the UDR to XT90.
I use deans....
Driftomaniacs same principle regardless of connectors you use. Just use your imagination and make the deans swap work, I did.

It's big but only 1.5 inches longer wheelbase than the erevo, I nearly got the losi super baja rey (Still might!) as that's huge by comparison!
