👍🏻On the new gym. Love the review👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Nice haircut and new gym!
Haha! Yes! Thanks for noticing! I’m looking forward to posting the video of me building this new gym. It looked like a murder dungeon before I put in the equipment and lights.
Nice review!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Heavier at the top is nice compared to dumbbell flies. Dumbbell flies usually feel the heaviest the further out your arms are from center. With this, you get the most resistance when your pecs are fully engaged. I’m not an expert, but I think this would be better for pec focused flies while dumbbells are better for shoulder focused flies. And a cable fly would be in between the two.
I’d love to have that
It is a pretty nice machine
The resistance curve seems like it may actually match the strength curve of the pecs. Reminds me of the one that Powertec used to sell
😊
Супер тренажер!
I just bought this machine and definitely agree about the resistance curve. Any suggestions to Improve resistance at the bottom other than connecting to cables?
Not that I know of
I want this.
It is pretty awesome
Btw Kaizen, it looks like a guy drilled pegs into the arms at the end to which he said greatly increased the ROM, especially at the bottom.
Awesome, seems like a good hack!
I like the review. I’m beginning to noticed that a lot of the overseas firms are making leverage gyms similar to Powertec. That chest fly model was once made by Powertec but was discontinued around 2008 or 2009. Would like to know how does that chest fly component compares to a pec deck machine?
The pec decks I’ve used are typically connected to a weight stack or some type of plate loaded cable system which means there is no change in the amount of resistance throughout the movement.
Hey, I'm a subscriber, and I watch your videos. There's always something new I learn from your RUclips channel. I'll go ahead and run this past you. I have an Altas Strength Home Gym Smith Machine 3058 model. My friend gave me two lever arms he found for dirt cheap at an Estate Sale last week. I can't hook the lever arms to my equipment because there are no side holes to slide the pin into to lock it in (actually, I have one hole but I need to drill the other hole). I want to drill extra holes into my equipment to make it compatible. What drill bit would I need to make a hole through Alloy Steel? This would be a significant upgrade for my equipment, and I want this to be successful. I have a drill, but please let me know what drill bit will do the job. All the lever arms sold are incompatible with my equipment unless I alter my rack.
You’ll want to use a step bit (amzn.to/44qm62T)
@@KaizenDIYGym Thanks for the reply, and I'll pick this up this week. Just to make sure, this will penetrate the Alloy Steel and make a second hole going down the rack?
Not sure about the tension curve... Maybe add a band between the two pegs?
Its interesting to see, but definitely not the kind of thing I would buy, especially considering I could get an invincible used Atlantis or hammer strength for like 1/3 of the price or less.
Yeah, if you can find hammer strength used it’s too good to pass up
From my very basic understanding of resistance curves, I believe you would want the most resistance where the muscle is stretched and strongest and gradually less resistance at the shortened position which would be the end of the fly as this would allow for better progressive overload
From my limited knowledge, I would think the opposite. You might want less resistance when stretched so less chance of injury and greater resistance when shortened when you can really flex similar to the curve of this machine.
@@clarkg5946yeah agree.
The name of the machine is misleading. It’s not targeting the upper chest. It’s simulating a flat chest fly.
True
You look like my neighbour Rodney.
He sounds like an awesome guy
The people who wrote you those questions I’m debating if they have had a lobotomy prior to asking
No such thing as a dumb question. I’m always happy to help provide clarity.
This is a copy of an old powertec and body solid design.
Now powertec has a bench attachment pec fly .
I use the attachment on a floor adapter then inclne the bench , or on the bench as a flat fly . does the same as this machine and takes up less space.

Nice review. If I had unlimited space in my home gym, I might be interested. But I have no extra room. I do think you might be able to do rear flys with this machine. Similar to what Lee priest did on the Powertec machine that was similar to this one. ruclips.net/video/Ug5ANG962pE/видео.html
While I appreciate your equipment reviews, my favorite videos you’ve done are the DIYs . I get it, I’d take free equipment all day every day, but it contradicts the name of your channel. I don’t mean any disrespect, just being honest with you.
That’s fair. These reviews help me pay the bills so I can keep making DIY videos. I don’t think they’ll ever become the primary type of video I produce, but they are integral in keeping my channel afloat.
