Well said. I always look forward to your Saturday videos, Don! I look forward to visiting the store in late August! Greetings to your family from Texas!
I have been trying somthing different i have been adding a persimmon leaf or a sweet sop leaf and the persimmon leaf is somthing amazing when i add to Tiguan yin
Yes Te Guan Yin was my first real tea (after Jasmine)that got me tearing down the tea path. You nailed it. And I so agree with you, we become OBsessed with different teas as we go. I currently am having a white tea moment. Hey Don, can you go over the tea tool sets. What you look for in each piece? I am most interested in how you use the tongs, and what would be your ideal group? Thx. Great revisit to Te Guan Yin!
Scorching hot day over here as well! 🙌🌞🙌 Hard to imagine, that I've been wearing pullovers two weeks ago. Hope you are already over the worst of your cold! - I'm following with last year's Superior Iron Goddess. Still have a couple of sessions of that one left, but I've never had a chance to try Sour Sap nor Golden Flower. The latter sounds really trempting. - I tried to look up the taste profile of last year's TGY, but couldn't find it anymore. Or is it always the same diagram? I've the feeling that this year's might be a bit fruitier and fresher/greener in comparison to last year's almost egg-yolk-custard creaminess? Did anyone of you other teaheads get the same impression from Superior Iron Goddess 2021?
I think he has hyperosmia. Some people smell better than others. Some people smell worse than others (usually they would be the one with hygiene issues since they can't smell that well and don't know they smell bad)
When I was first getting into specialty tea I always rolled my eyes at his dramatic tasting notes. But listen, now that I'm experienced I totally get where he's coming from. When I listen to his tasting notes now I can imagine my experience and it's always completely accurate. Every note here is something I have experience with other quality tie guan yin, with out a doubt
@@DokiDokiDoku Don is what got me into Gonfu cha back in 2016 and I have been drinking tea daily since then, from many brands including his. Most of his tasting notes are generally appropriate and reflect the tea. His over dramatization is marketing.
Tea added 30% more happy days to my life. Even just a few hours here and there embracing the multitude of insane flavors and depth. But I personally hate any teas smoked, it's a slap of smoke flavor that ruins any other flavors from ever being invited to Flavor Town. like throwing wood chips from my batch of smoked fish in the Tea Kettle type of rough. Keep at it Captain Tea Head we are behind you, the Tea heads. 🍵 🍵 If you brew it, we shall too. 🫖
Hey Don, these videos are my ASMR while I work.

Just curious, do you have a dominant nostril for finding all those characteristics?!

Every time I watch Dons videos I honestly can’t with the tasting notes tho
