Yeah, still my all-time favorite scifi movie. Glad you liked my blaster. BTW, did you know that all the C57D in-flight and landing sequences were animated, by hand (no CGI back then).
I totally agree with you, Forbidden Planet was way ahead of its time, set new standards in story, quality acting and special effects. A classic legend in Sci Fi. I think its great that you make these superb replicas with so much care and interest!
Thanks for the kind comments. Yeah, FP is a film I never get tired of. I just wish I had the skill and patience to build a more accurate replica from the original materials. Unfortunately, the FP blaster rifles were actually machined metal, not the cast resin or fiberglass that most props were made of in later years. Oh well, maybe someday....
Hi, G7. Thanks for your interest. The eBay listing is titled FORBIDDEN PLANET BLASTER Prop Replica. Full scale. Lighti... click here or search for this listing on eBay.
I know this vid is a couple years old, but for reasons unknown except to youtube, it popped up on my reccomends today. :-) I just wanted to suggest looking at adafruit or sparkfun. they have little wav/mp3 player boards that would fit in there. You could just play a sound sample from the movie.
FP is one of my favorite movies to watch with my dad. Cool blaster

Great review. I can't believe you made one. You're a clever man.
Thanks. The one I built is now (Sept.29, 2016) up for bids on eBay - let's hope someone else out there thinks it's a clever piece of work.
Out of curiosity, I looked on ebay, but couldn't find it.
