- 🛶 💦 🐕 The Tobin Sports inflatable kayaks are unbelievable for the price. We purchased these at our local Costco, but if you want them you have to keep checking back because they aren't in stock very often! The kayaks are very sturdy, and super easy to put together!

The part that was sped up on getting the pump working is the detail that people need to get the pump to work. There is a fitting on the end of the pump hose that needs to come off in order to inflate the kayak. How do I get it off without breaking it.
Also, how do I install the batteries to get the pump turned on. That part was sped up as well. Not helpful.
Thanks so much for bringing this up George! I do apologize for the original “fast forwarded” footage. I HAVE MADE A VIDEO JUST FOR YOU HOWEVER! It’s right here, Tobin Sports Inflatable Kayak Pump Review - The Cookin' Camper
ruclips.net/video/cdtWL5Y88mE/видео.html . Thanks again for taking the time out of your busy day to watch our video, and to even leave us a comment!!! Hopefully this new pump specific video helps you out!
Haha love the little float at the end and Zeena thinking/contemplating jumping in the water 😅😂
She loves to swim lol...But the water was kinda chillllllly lol...
Great that you have pros and cons besides for instructions. Love the fast forwarding so I have a choice of watching the detail or rolling through!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
Here is my list of pro's and con's if you can't read them in the video!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!
PROS:
1. Super easy to put together
2. Light weight when taking to the water
3. Very maneuverable
4. 1 or 2 people with a dog can fit
5. Plenty of storage in them
6. Flexible so when you hit big waves from the front or back the kayak stays stable
7. The fabric stays cool
8. Zena (any small-ish dog) has a lot of surface to stand on in the front
CONS:
1. Seats have almost no support
2. A plug on the back that is not mentioned in the instructions that can come open while kayaking letting water into the kayak
3. Extremely heavy with water trapped inside until deflated
4. Rocks will get stuck in the fins if they touch ground or shore (we had to use kitchen knives to get the tiniest peoples and rocks out of the bracket on the bottom of the kayak in order to get the fins out to deflate the kayaks)
5. (not sure why I didn't include this one in the video) THERE'S NOT A CARRYING CASE OR BAG INCLUDED...So you need some sort of tote or carrying bag to store these kayaks............
Appreciate the review.
Thanks so much for watching, and for taking the time to comment!
Just got mine on sale at Costco. Can’t wait to use it. Thanks for the video!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Did you get the new southwestern looking one?!?
@@TheCookinCamper It’s orange. Was going to try it out today on the Charles River today… but we’re having a cool day today in the Boston area… so hopefully tomorrow.
@@philiptuths3747 THOSE ONES LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!
Great review..
Thanks for stopping by…HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!
Great! I couldn't figure where attach seats, since on bottom velcro line ends to close to front. The point, that buckles have to be in front of the seats.! Very bad manual
Yeah the seats are not the best part of this kayak!
Hey just have a question.. does your robin lose some air/psi after pumping it up and kayaking with it
We haven’t used these in well over a year so I don’t think I could answer that…Have a blessed day!!!
love you dog
Thanks soooo much!
I saw a couple of people indicating that the pump did not fit. I thought the same at the beginning but if you need to unscrew the actual plug piece it comes apart and then re screw the bottom piece back on. Once screwed back in, it will entertain the pump piece and "click" in...there is a diaphragm on the piece you clip the pump into that allows the air to stay in while you check the PSI and then reattach the plug.
I am having the same problem with the pump nozzel not fitting. I am having a difficulty understanding how you are explaining this.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!!
I am so sorry you didn't understand...I also have a new video describing and using just the pump...HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!!!@@debpapp4817
nice I got one for Christmas I wanna use it
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THESE KAYAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
👍🏾
Merci Thank you I like it.
Thanks for stopping by!
I have same one but branded diff,
use in river and sea cramped two people but usable better one person plus lots gear stable drye's quick
Do you know what brand it is?
does it deflate or loose air when it's in cold water after a while? Some reviews say so.
The water we were in was pretty chilly, and we were in it for a couple of hours with no noticeable air loss. Mr. Camera Man's filled with water a little bit, but that was because of that plug I mentioned.
Thanks for the video. Can it fit two adults comfortably as advertised?
It is doable, but the seats aren’t really supportive. While filming we had two adults and a small dog in our kayak and we fit with no problems!
How are the seats, i read someone saying they offe rno back support and felt like they were laying down on their back
The seats are pretty worthless…not much support and they move…
Great video. Can a seat be repositioned for one person more in the middle?
The seats are pretty much worthless, but I'm sure you could just remove the seat and sit more in the middle of the kayak!
How well do they track? (stay in a straight line) Are you zig-zagging everywhere you go or can you stay on a straight course fairly easily. Also have they stood up to the usage (get holes, tears or wear) now that you have had them a while?
Honestly we haven’t used them nearly as much as we’d like! We aren’t the best kayakers so not sure if it can go in a straight line lol.
It doesn't track well at all. The seat back is a major problem, its lousy.
@@simongabriel5157 Yup, I have one, and I'm planning to spend 3 to 4 times as much and get a Aquaglide Chelan soon. Not much room inside, doesn't always inflate properly, the back support is really bad, only last 2 hour max in it. I used it around 4 to 5 times last summer, the only real plus is that it come's with so much stuff, but that's really it.
I agree that the seats are pretty worthless...@@simongabriel5157
Hey, Can you guys tell me where the gray triangle piece attached to the kayak?
I haven’t used this or see them up in years, but I think they go right in the “wedge” in the front and back…Hope that helps, have a blessed night!!!
Did you find that the kayaks lost air while in cooler water? I've come across alot of reviews stating this. Wanted to make sure before purchasing.
We haven't used these enough to really notice a difference in different water temperatures.
Your best to give it a little more pressure If you are going in really cold water, or use it and put a little more air if you think it's noticeably softer, I haven't noticed it in mine.
@@T101cyberdynesystems great idea!!!
If the water is colder than the air, slightly overinflate on land, set in water to cool the boat to water temperature, then top off with more air if needed to proper inflation. This is a normal procedure.
GREAT IDEA!!!@@Roscoe8161
We bought one and it's great. What is the grey triangle thing that you can blow up? Saw it in your video laying on the table.
Honestly I haven’t used these in a while…If I remember right we shoved the inflatable triangle in the the front of the kayak where Zena was standing…It holds the area open a little bit more!
While the instructions for this are a bit lacking in detail, I did catch that the triangle piece is supposed to be for a foot rest? Just got mine the other day and looking to take it out soon.
Thank you for this review. Your puppers is much smaller than mine. If just 1 person going out, hoe do you think it would do with a 45lbs dog?
I AM NOT SURE HOW THAT WOULD WORK...Zena is only 4 pounds so we haven't had any experience with kayaking with a big dog...Have a fabulous day!!!@@sarahminnick4776
New to kayaks - what use are the ropes?
Not really sure what the actual purpose is…They’re good for if you want to hold onto the kayak next to you…And if you wanted to dock somewhere you could tie it up!!!…THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!
Do you have to worry about dog claws puncturing the bottom?
Nope. Not Zena at least. We keep her nails trimmed back.
Thx!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Hello just got mine! can you pleaae explain the plug in the back that can open letting water in? where is it and what should i do before going in the water??? thank you!
We couldn’t find anywhere in the instructions where this plug was talked about, but the only thing you have to do it make sure it’s shut tightly before you venture into the water! Thanks for stopping by!
@@TheCookinCamper Thank you!
❤️
It is chinese HF Bestway kayak, labeled by distributor with that name :)
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Does this work well with just one person?
While we were filming Mr. Camera man was floating around by himself if his kayak! They work great for one person!

ruclips.net/video/cdtWL5Y88mE/видео.html ! Thanks for all the support!
What about leg room? For tall people...hubby is 6'1 and I am 5'9
My partner & I are 6-1/6-2 and we have no problem with leg room. I also like to stick my legs on top of the sides if I’m in the front of the kayak!
This is awesome !! I have been thinking about getting an inflatable kayak. We live down the street from a lake and a river where we could use them. I would buy a normal kayak but then I would have to store it and bring it to and from the River. So is it easy to deflate and easy to store? I’ll have to look for them at Costco.
They’re easy to put together, but a little bit more difficult to take apart and deflate…one thing we didn’t even think about it having to let them totally dry out before we put them away so they don’t get gross…You definitely need to get one!!!…or two lol!
On sale now at Costco online $50 off
WOWZA!!!@@kal7049
what do you store it in?
We store these in two plastic totes. They are the kind you put Christmas lights, or decorations in.
Got one of these but the pump nozzle doesn't seem to fit? Is there something I'm missing?
I’m not sure what the problem is. I would try to send their customer service an email!
@@TheCookinCamper seems like numerous people who bought this item at Costco got a pump that doesn't fit. Unfortunately bought as a gift last Xmas and just now opened to use. Fortunately we had another pump.
@@capodad2u That's nuts!
I'm having the same problem. What to do?

Well you convinced me. I'm allowing my wife to purchase me one for Father's day lol
Right on, but YOU NEED TWO LOL!!! The new ones at my local Costco are a southwestern color scheme now!
Dam man. I thought that was a big dog in the beginning
😂
Would have loved to have seen you deflate them and put them away
It’s a struggle…lol…HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!
I bought 2 of this inflatable kayak. The air lose a lot after 30 minutes in the water. Return for sure.
THAT STINKS…That’s the exact reason I shop at Costco…Return anytime for any reason…THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!!!
I mentioned in this video that there is a plug on the back of the kayak that can cause water to get into the kayak…The instructions don’t mention this…Maybe that was the issue…
@@TheCookinCamper I know what did you say. But I mean lose air. It was not water problem.
@@agoodwife8787 In some reviews I read that the temperature of the water -is colder than air temp the pressure compresses in the water and you lose some inflation. Put it back on land then inflation returns. Best to put the kayak in water for a bit before paddling off. Let the pressure compress then give it a couple of pumps of to bring the inflation up and you should be good to go.
@@Zoe-ik7uf great thinking!!!
My pump doesn’t seem to have the right end. And the seats don’t stay fastened🙃
