We burn Juniper and Cedar here at our place in Northern arizona, mainly because we have 40 acres of deadfall. 😊 We have a Pioneer Princess wood cookstove, though, and a 5 gallon bucket full of wood will heat our house for about 4 hours!!!

We burn juniper so old it has lichen on it. It smells so good and it damn near splits itself. Big pile by the stove makes the whole house smell good. Oak is absolutely the best for heat and duration but I could die happy burning juniper and there are so many dead specimens on and near our land that are beyond dry because they have been dead longer than I have been alive..

As far as eucalyptus goes I have many 20+ year old trees on my property as well as my neighbors. Its a very cold hearty wood and I'd be surprised if you couldn't establish some in AZ.
