Hello Mac Cat. It's always so lovely to hear from you! We're so happy you enjoyed this video... we had fun making it & wanted to share the experience with all those people curious about the new Wizzair routes! ~ Mandy 😁😀
Great video M&L-as usual. Thanks for showing us Bucharest Airport and Wizz Air. I’ve heard of Wizz but never tried-like Ryanair or EasyJet. While 28-inches on a 5-hr flight sounds very tight to me, it appears you’ve managed quite well (I’m 1.77 m). Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain are all on my bucket list. Will be interesting to see future videos by you two from the UAE. Safe travels. 🇦🇪
Thanks, lucchese20 😁 The flight was really quite comfortable and we'd definitely do it again. Can't beat the price! We enjoyed our time in UAE 🇦🇪 and the videos will be following shortly. 👍 ~ Lee
I've not tried Wizz but they seem to have good routes. Their baggage policy seems similar to Ryanair, which is good for my travels. I'm planning my trips for this year, so your video came at the right time.
Hello Alice! We're so pleased this video has been helpful to you, as it's so easy to get caught out with oversize luggage with those budget airlines! I saw a few people get pulled out of the queue and charged for an oversized small bag, so they had to pay the extra fee for Priority booked at the airport! We actually joined the Wizzair Discount Club as knew we'd be flying with them quite a bit in 2023... it's crazy to think they now fly to the Maldives, so we'll be heading there soon 🌴🌞 ~ Mandy
(My first comment has disappeared so I am writing again). 🤣🤣 That's an amazing price. You did so well. It's so exciting that Wizz are expanding into the Middle East. They are generally a bit late but I accept that. Your luck at getting a window seat. But you so appreciated it. Lee's enthusiasm whilst sharing what he had seen. Loved it.** Did you find a place to fill up your water bottles?** So I like to find a frugal adventure each January. There were some really good deals on flights in Europe. But for a little more £70 return we decided to fly via Porto to Sãn Miguel, Azores. Hostel room £22 a night. £11 each. Comfortable, met interesting people and it was in the middle of the old town of Ponta Delgado. Good supermarket close by. Free activities in PD. Botanical gardens, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean lido with the locals, climbing the Town Hall tower for views over the city, hikes along the coast to watch the sunset and visiting a pineapple plantation 🍍🍍🍍🍍(free tour with sampling of pineapple jam and liquor at end). Local buses easy. Cheap. Not frequent but you can get around the island. Bit hair raising at times. But I loved it. Hikes to water falls, up to the top of the crater views for breath taking views. We splashed out £25 each for a day out in Furnas. Local bus £8. Morning dip in Poca da Dona £8 thermal pools. Six pools. Surrounded by lush plants. Nice changing. Then in the afternoon to Terra Nostra £9 which has a sublime botanical park then a huge orange pool (old costumes needed) for a dip after. What a great day!
Thanks for this detailed report Julie. We're so jealous you got to the Açores as we haven't made it there yet. You did so well managing to find all those budget options and things to do. Well done. That's quite a challenge as we'd heard it was way more expensive than the mainland. We'll definitely refer back to this when we finally go there. 👍😊 It's strange that your first comment disappeared. That's happened to a few people now. Not quite sure what RUclips is up to. 🤔 I don't think we did find water in the airport in the end. We arrived in Abu Dhabi very dehydrated because there was no way we were buying it from Wizz. 😂 ~ Lee
Btw Lee, as a linguistic enthusiast and future polyglot, I wanted to tell you that I travel with a small book (nice quality, the size of my phone) and I collect languages within it. If you have travelled for years you don't want souvenirs but this is turning into something really special seeing different scripts and messages. I thought you might appreciate hearing about it.
Great video guys. Wizz Air ok yeah? I've flown with them once from Ljubljana to Brussels for an unbelievable 1euro cent (plus luggage) . Only a short flight, but 1 cent, I kid you not. Safe travels.😄
(sorry that comment posted before proof reading 😊). *Ponta Delgado airport had a great place to fill up water. Clearly marked. ** Didn't get a window seat arriving on island but when we left I negotiated with a guy as it was empty. He was middle, took my aisle. We flew right over the island. Breathe taking. We choose a 6 and a half hour transit at Porto on our return. Dumped bags in airport locker. 2 euros. Then metro to Sãn Bento station and walk to churches and river. Then second flight home. Azores is very expensive any other time of the year but it is possible to go frugally. Highly recommended.
Thanks for the updates. You did so well with those flights. Great that you got some time in Porto as well. What a lovely place! You'll have to try Madeira next. I hear it's lovely. 💕😊 ~ Lee
Wizz Air is a fantastic option for minimalist travelers looking to save money and don't mind dealing with hidden fees and hiccups that come with budget airlines. It's a safe and reliable way to hop around Europe and the surrounding countries on a budget. I trust you had a pleasant and enjoyable flight.
I have a question, since I need visa to enter UAE and Wizz air doesn't have connected flights (which means I gotta enter UAE to have my next flight) and since my layover is going to be 5-6 hours (which means I'm not eligible for 8-48 hours transit visa) what should I do? When you exit airplane, do you first go to Passport control or you first take you luggage? I'm asking because I could take my luggage and then wait 1-2 hours in "international zone" so I can enter when it's less than 4 hours (no visa required). Could this be possible?
Hello. Thank you for your very interesting questions. We haven't been in that situation so are unable to offer any information about our personal experiences. I hope you find the information you need. ~ Mandy
Hahha... that's one of the ways they're able to keep the prices low! Always have some form of entertainment ready... we listen to podcasts and read ebooks 😁😀 ~ Mandy
We totally recommend the Osprey 40 litre backpack for Carry On after more than 4 years of using it. Check it out here amzn.to/43lTKrj 👍🎒
Great video! Loved seeing the views from the plane. Beautiful!
Thank you so much, P-INK! We're so pleased you enjoyed the video and the views... it was a great flight! ~ Mandy 😀😁
Great to see you posting again and that the trip was enjoyable and good value.
Thanks, as always.

@@FrugalTravellers I would be exactly the same! Don't give them your hard earned money.

1 cent!!! Wow.... You've out - frugalled us there. Well done! Got to love Wizz Air 😍✈️😍
We have an upcoming transfer to a Wizz flight via Abu Dhabi - looking forward but unable to sort out visa rqmt beforehand - Pleasant Journeys!
Good luck with your flight planning. Hope all goes well for you. Abu Dhabi is very nice if you get to stopover there. 👍

Thanks, Dougie. It is a great bargain option to travel with Wizz and thankfully so far we've had no dramas. So far so good flying with them. 🙏😁👍 ~ Lee

That definitely was a bargain flight!
Sure was. And the next one to Kuwait even moreso. 😁👍 ~ Lee
