I was very much stable as a single girl, I even bought my own apartment with my own money. I achieved a lot before getting married.
My married friends make way more than I do, but I have more disposable income because I don't have the financial responsibilities that they have, with the kids and the bills.
My point is that a couple will likely have the have very similar rent and utilities but two ppl work instead of one. The only difference if the couple has a few children, then their expenses rise as their children get older.

I don't drink. When I used to go dancing, my friends would get their own drinks and I would be dancing. Don't believe anyone ever offered to buy us drinks.
