You are precisely correct. The real danger is if this turns into serious violence, because when that happens, the trucks and trains quit rolling, the food quits coming, the power goes off, the water quits flowing, and so on. That will by itself result in the deaths of millions, but also takes America out of the world’s power equation, which gives China and any other predatory global faction free rein to act. As for the movie, what movie? I heard not even a name for it.

@@ripvanwinkle2002 no. A house cannot prop itself up. Especially on a bad foundation.
The foundation, when it was laid, was good. The house that was built upon it, was good. The people that lived in the house for years and years was good and took care of the house and the land upon which the house sits.
Family upgrades, moves out to bigger and better house and a new family moves in. The family that moved in was not good , could not afford the house and did not take care of the house or the land upon which it sits. The grass grew tall, the trees started to fall and the land became unstable because of the trees that fell that left holes in the ground exposing the roots to rot and the water began to pour into the holes and around the foundation and made it crack and break and become weak which in turn made the house settle and crack and leak and rot.
So basically, this is what a ghetto thugg liberal gay muslim woketard obama did to our country in record time right under the eyes and nose of the people ...

I was a college professor for many years. I did my best to create a tolerant environment where everyone felt like they could speak. But our universities are in serious decline. They are fomenting this leftwing subculture that is out of touch with reality. The professors/administrators/hr people never realize it because they live in their heads and never really encounter people who think differently from them. Then the students are sent out into the world convinced by the propaganda they've been fed, which in their view must be true because it's what "smart" people taught them. The whole thing is a recipe for disaster that may be unavoidable at this point. The only way out of it is to found new universities that have a different culture. But the effect of those institutions wouldn't be felt for at least 10 years or so. It may be too late.

This country was founded on the idea of allegiance to your state. Hence "states rights". The Federal government was intended to be a LIMITED central government with LIMITED powers. With all powers not SPECIFICALLY granted to it in the Constitution to remain with the state's (ie: the people). We have fallen so far from the original design of our republic I am not sure there is any going back. As well the population of the US has the largest amount of foreign born inhabitants (they may or may not be citizens) at any point in history. Many of who may or may not have any allegiance to anything connected to American heritage or culture. That is not a slight on immigrants. We are all immigrants at some point in our ancestry. But if you want to be a part of this Nation, assimilate. Contribute to it. Do your part to defend it. Make it better and pass it along to future generations. My first direct lineage (4th great grandfather) ancestor came to North America in the 1750's and was involved in the founding and creation of this Nation. I have direct relatives who have worn the uniform of this Nation in every conflict since the Revolution and technically before (French & Indian Wars). We have been here since the beginning. We will be here til the end (whenever that end may come). Doing what we can to preserve it and protect it.

God bless you, that was well said! Sadly most of our recent immigrants have no intention to become Americans, just to take advantage of our largesse. There are enclaves of different cultures everywhere, and more division is ongoing. We are becoming tribal, not united, and our Nation is falling into pieces.

The problem is we have fallen so far from the original structure it is unrecognizable.

President Lincoln suspended the writ and habeas corpus and arrested numerous people for committing no crimes other than disagreeing. Lincoln had an arrest warrant issued for John C. Breckenridge, his political rival for the presidency from Kentucky and the Democratic Party. Breckenridge was against secession, but was forced into the Confederacy bc of Lincoln’s actions. Breckenridge had been the youngest VP in history at 36, he was a rising star in politics. Breckenridge is one of hundreds of others whose rights were violated during a time of combustible fuel that ignited the war. Also, Lincoln baited the South to firing shots at Ft. Sumter. I’m a Lincoln fan and my relatives fought for the Confederacy. Lincoln had the world on his shoulders and I applaud him for keeping our country together and his work that led to the end of slavery, but he is not innocent of violating the US Constitution. The War Between the States was brewing since 1783. Lincoln forced the war upon our nation just as much as any southern politician that advocated secession. Lincoln was an aggressor with his actions. Violation of rights are what pushes conflicts not just economic ideologies. People feel like their Constitutional rights are under threat by our current government and executive administration… actions speak louder than words, and the actions of our current administration, plus the media, has created this toxic environment. It needs to stop and forcing people to believe lies must stop. We have way more in common than differences. Outside forces are obviously involved in this as well as bought politicians and media outlets. God be with us all! Arresting political rivals and inflaming toxic political situations… does any of this sound familiar???

South Carolina threatened to leave the Union as early as 1828 and 1832 over tariffs they deemed illogical to their regional sustainability. The politicians kept kicking the large issue down the road for someone else to figure out or contain.

@@ericscottstevens you’re spot on. Andrew Jackson prevented civil war, but many could see what was coming. Jackson was a very strong leader and from sheer force of will kept the Union together and maintained the peace. After Jackson until Lincoln the country got one termers, and VPs who inherited the problems from the deaths of their predecessors. Weak leaders. By the 1850s the second generation of American leaders that kept making deals like the Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1833, Compromise of 1850, etc… were dead or dying. The third generation of American leaders particularly up north were done with making deals to keep the peace. It was inevitable.
