As I approach the end of my life, it is this history of OUR existence that this reassurance which announces to me that the life span of a human or the hereditary of human kind are but just a epoch in the the life of this planet and measured over millions of years, and makes me feel secure in the knowledge that we as humans are only a part player in the natural tapestry of what makes this wold special in the whole part of the universe.

I've spent time in the Chichester area, some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. I loved walking over the Trundle from the Weald & Downland Museum into town (after a hearty breakfast at their lovely cafe or at Louisa's in Singleton), around 7.5-miles. Wish I could do that every day. I also loved going from Dell Quay to Bosham through the marshland instead of on the roads.

I loved that bit and I agree with you completely. Ray often mentions in his shows about the fact that all of the old traditions and knowledge are being lost. Unfortunately I feel it's no different in the UK. If the generations of today and tomorrow lose interest in our local nature, then it's unlikely to be at the forefront of their minds further down the line when they are the ones in power and passing laws that could negatively effect it.

The Weald I think is also the land where the magical sport of Cricket was first played ever by some local boys.

It would be good to have a video on how to get the most from a nature reserve in Sussex. Plus how to get to one cheaply on public transport. As I am visiting one with my family who insist on taking the car.
