This was one of the biggest plot twist in anime history, everything was calculated, only we couldn't see through it. Back then, who would've thought the man who murdered the entire clan, was actually the hero who prevent something much worse. Itachi's last line, made us tears up everytime, can you imagine how long he waited just to saying that again?
One thing don't make sense to me, why kill babies, elders and children?
@@tixetixeunem2508the plan was for every Uchiha. It was total elimination. However, Itachi couldn’t go through with it unless The Leaf Elders / Third Hokage agreed that Sasuke wouldn’t be harmed.
@@tixetixeunem2508 that’s the thing. He isn’t a hero. Just someone who had an impossible choice and chose the village over his clansmen. Think of it this way, either Itachi would’ve done it or the village would’ve done it (which would’ve resulted in even more bloodshed). Either way, depending on who did it (killing babies and the elderly), ‘you’ wouldn’t have liked that individual either any more different than Itachi. And you would have to direct some of your anger towards Third Hokage too who allowed it to happen to again defend the village (in his mind) and of course you wouldn’t have a problem disliking Danzo or the other two Leaf Elders / Council. They already came off as unlikable in their limited screen time.
We couldn’t see it from the beginning cause it wasn’t plan form the beginning 🤣
It’s well known that kishimoto made itachi at first with the idea of making him a heartless monster
@@creadordepan293no! That's not it. Because in the beginning of Naruto, Saske said that when saske recalls itachi, the person was crying. This shows that the writer was planning from the beginning
i had watched many movies and shows to this date, each time hoping it would bring forth tears and make me remember the experience for moments to come. Idiot me would never have thought i would be teared up watching this scene i have watched hundreds of times
Sasuke’s entire life was a lie. Imagine living day after day with one goal of killing your brother then finding out he was a hero.
He is not an hero
@@nicolapavoni180ur right, he is not a hero...he WAS a hero
True. He is also fictional. Imagine you find out one day that you are fictional.
Sasuke could've chosen to just live his life in spite of his brother's actions and not dedicate every day to training to kill him. Granted, I didn't watch all of shippuuden since there are far too many episode, but I recently watched the final fight and Sasuke was still on his angsty bullshit. Like, he just didn't get enough attention 'cause it feels like he makes problems just to be a foil.
@@TakakiM-sr1df Sasuke wasn't even an anti-hero. An anti-hero is a literary archetype that ends up being the hero but doesn't intend to be. He was entirely self-absorbed and made choices exclusively in his own interest and only valued bonds that were useful. That's the definition of Neutral Evil.
"Itachi went undercover as a Spy for the Village."
I'm surprised no one realized who Jiraiya's informant on Akatsuki internal affairs was after learning that. As well as why Itachi didn't really want to fight Jiraiya when they crossed paths.
Can you prove that? I can't see it that way 🤔
@@PabloAlqaIt isn't confirmed but it makes sense, Itachi and Kisame together would've taken like 2 seconds to kill Jiraiya but it is possible Itachi simply ignored Jiraiya cause the message that he was still around was already sent to the leaf higher-ups
@@PabloAlqa I mean it makes a lot of sense. Jiraiya is stated to be one of the best spymasters in the whole series, Itachi is stated to be spying on the Akatsuki for the village. Jiraiya has more knowledge about the Akatsuki than anyone in the Leaf, and the one time the two cross paths, neither uses an offensive jutsu (Jiraiya uses the toad mouth to capture them, Itachi uses Amaterasu to flee) on each other. The math just adds up.
@@__vx3 except jiraiya was surprised when itachi was able to escape, which wouldn't be the case if he meant not to harm him and he also would've stopped itachi from hurting sasuke.
@@Harrypotter-rb6kv Jiraiya was surprised because he didn't know Itachi could use Amaterasu, and because no one had ever escaped his technique before (he says this before it happens). Jiraiya would also have known that Itachi wasn't going to kill Sasuke, as his safety was the entire point of him going rogue in the first place.
Nooo Itachi...😭
*a few minutes later...
Taka only has one goal, We...will destroy the hidden leaf🥶🥶
A few seconds later😅
This episode broke me. 😢
Itachi giving everything he had to protect the village, just for sasuke to say he will destroy it xdd
Sasuke don't own shit to his lapdog brother and neither should he became a slave to Konoha like Itachi was.
@@joaov.candido8399 lmao you know he goes back to konoha right?
@@TmBeast17Yeah, when the story literally end and even after that we see he leave to start his journey.
Sasuke isn't Itachi, he reacted like any other person would
@n1ghtwhirl what do you mean no?
The moment edge lord Sasuke became edgiest.
I just watched Naruto and Sasuke's final fight yesterday and I was just annoyed the entire time 'cause Sasuke was just on some angsty bullshit once again.
I don't know if they noticed Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan, also Sasuke is the only one who has a black background in his Mangekyo
His Mangekyou background isn't black. The patterns are black. The part you see red is actually the background.
The whites of his eye is all black, his Mangekyo is all red
@@quentinjones6877 the white layer of his eyes are still white, what are you talking about?
@jojomachado9428 ok, his pupil is all black but the whole Mangekyo Sharingan is red where as other Mangekyo users have red pupils but the Mangekyo is black
@@quentinjones6877 It's because you're thinking about the pattern on a inverted scheme. Even in the Sasuke's Mangekyou, the black part which encircles the pattern is above the red layer which is exposed just in the middle of the eye. Try to imagine the eye scheme this way, you'll see Sasuke's eye isn't differente.
I'll give Kishimoto a lot of credit for doing near perfect retcon in his series. He's always been fantastic at not telling the entire story right away and instead give room for potential growth of a character's background later on.
I'll die on the hill that Itachi was definitely a 100% villain when he was first introduced, but plans had changed. Much like how Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura were originally supposed to master Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu and how that wound up changing to just making them students of three of the most powerful ninja known at the time.
The real reason for the retcon, looking back, was clearly "what's next in Sasuke's story?" What would Sasuke do after killing Itachi? What was, thematically, most appealing in terms of drama? Well, there were just enough holes in the backstory that Kishimoto was able to patch up and create a different story out of it.
How is that a retcon, actually? Weren't all these hints already given from Chapter 220 to 225 in the Manga. So what exactly was retconned here?
I have the feeling some Naruto fans have a borderline illness which prevents them to give Kishi any credit, but well that's not my problem. Just gonna enjoy the Story.
@@Imoha-fz5nm The backstory was still left fairly vague to expand upon, which is what Kishimoto did. Even so, I'm referring to when Itachi first appeared. Keep in mind that during this time the tailed beasts weren't all completely thought out yet, it was just the kitsune and the sand demon.
Then we later find out that they needed to collect the tailed beasts in order, yet Itachi was going to completely allow Kisame to cut off Naruto's legs and take Naruto in general, because he had the kitsune inside. There'd be no point in taking Naruto if they weren't ready to extract him and risk having the Leaf Village hunt them down even more, causing more issues.
Then you have Itachi's little episode during the flashback before Sasuke "snapped him out of it," when he started making snide remarks about the clan. They were words filled with venom, typical of any villain origin story - especially from a prodigy that "grew bored" or whatever.
However, the way Kishimoto did it, it's easy to redirect things in the disguise of "he was a double agent." But even if he were spying on them as a double agent, why would he risk his mission by snapping at the no-name Uchiha that confronted him, saying such idiotic suspicious things? Like, if Sasuke hadn't interrupted things, he was in the process of causing the entire mission to fail - that's not genius planning. Definitely not on the level of someone like Itachi who supposedly planned out the next, what, 5-6 years worth of life.
Personally, I feel like Kishimoto started changing things around during the first arc of Shippuden, using what any great writer does - instead of outright ignoring previous lore (like Toriyama), redirecting and expanding upon it.
I'm also 100% sure that itachi was planned to NOT be evil, the author just didnt have the plot planned out in all its details at the time. Remember, one character that is important to this plot point is danzo, and he didn't exist in part 1. Similarly for tobi, i don't think even kishi at the time had planned to tie the plot of kakashi's friend to the uchiha tragedy.
I can see how these points can play to your point, but imo the critical point is that itachi going back to konoha made no sense if he was evil. The akatsuki hadn't ordered him to capture naruto, they had to start with the one tail, and he didnt put much effort into actually capturing him. He just wanted to warn jiraya and the village.
There are some bad writing points imo, like why did itachi go out of his way to put sasuke and kakashi in coma? it was to show that he is truly dangerous but then isnt he supposed to be a good guy? It was just to tie this arc with this the next arc (looking for tsunade). At the end of the day, as i always say, we don't like naruto because of its solid plot (its not solid), we like it because of cool characters and epic fights.
@@holamola897 again, the tailed beasts weren't really a fully thought out thing at the time. Gaara's sand demon and the ninetales were two separate demons, not really completely part of a set. With that being the case, it makes sense for Akatsuki to take Naruto IF they were going to do whatever the plan had originally been at the time.
That said, I could understand the point you made, Itachi not being intended to be a villain completely, but no real idea of how to bring it about. Personally, I just think Kishimoto was going the traditional route of introducing the typical "next strongest villain" for shonen series to follow.
I still subscribe to the idea that it probably wasn't until Shippuden, with the reveal of the 9 beasts, that Kishimoto started planning out for Itachi to not be evil.
It was a fucking retcon and the only ones who want to denial are Itachi fanboys and Kishimoto fanboys who think this shit is some great plot twist when in reality this bullshit make the story worse.
About Sasuke's future at time after his fight against Itachi, Sasuke said that he would after Obito and that's it. But, in fact, this situation only happen because Fraudmoto wanted so bad that Naruto VS Sasuke end the story, but he never could make the fight between them when the Last Uchiha as his Hebi persona since he could care less about Naruto, Konoha and the world.
god, i hate Animaechan's "idc face" about this infomation
This an Obito being under the mask are probably the biggest plot twists in the anime
Why didn't itachi tell about madara/obito, that he was behind 9 tail attack. Instead he kill his clan ? 😮
Itachi didn't know about who was responsible for the attack.
He knew Tobi existed because they crossed paths when he was very young, they very day it causes it causes him to awaken the Mangekyo. If I recall well Tobi killed his teammates.
Yall know itachi actually died from cancer, not sasuke
Yk your stupid for saying that right 😂now 😂
😱😱😱
🖤
Trashy character from destroying the leaf to protect the leaf
Hail Lord Orochimaru 🥷🐍🥷

真要哭死啊!
The Itachi reveal was REALLY problematic, since this show has a habit of glossing over negative actions/rushed redemption. Itachi having the "great big brother" reputation after this was disturbing.
He is anything but a big brother.
It is strange, Itachi still committed a horrible deed
You all seem to be forgetting that Itachi was forced to do most of these things. All he ever wanted to do was prevent a senseless war and Shisui offered a perfectly reasonable alternative but Danzo wouldn’t have it. Itachi had to sacrifice the few for the many and what he did to Sasuke only served to give him motivation instead of having him sink into despair. Itachi has been manipulated and played with all his life
@@ZeroResurrected Uh...thay's not *quite* what I was referring to. If you recall, Itachi mentally, emotionally, and physically abused Sasuke to get Sasuke to hate him and kill him. THAT part wasn't forced.
@@OpticalSorcerer Again, better that Sasuke be driven by his hatred then just be swallowed by grief and hopelessness. Itachi never thought that Sasuke would go to Orochimaru and became a criminal himself. He wanted Sasuke to kill him and become a hero
