Lovely heart felt message Greg!! I'm so chuffed your Dads is getting better that's great news!! I wish more RUclipsr's had your ethics, always happy to share your knowledge of the hobby and also share your videos!! We are very similar as we're both self taught and of course we share a passion for a lot of the same planes!! I will let you into a little secret I very rarely watch the big channels!! The race to fly the latest plane that most of them get for free or they take the time to show you how good they are at flying!! If I message a fellow flier and they don't reply to me as far as I'm concerned that's it I unsubscribe, its channels like ours that I spend my time watching!! So keep it up your doing a great job!!👍😄 Your mate across the pond. Ian.
Thanks so much Ian. Yeah I beleve in a hometown or grass roots approach to this channel. Let me show you my planes from a perspective of aa self taught pilot who loves it. I may not have all the correct terminology or the latest gear but I will work with what I have and what works for me and share it. Thanks Ian
Thanks and welcome Well I do the channel wether people suscribe or not. I taught myself with the help of you tube so I am just repaying that.......And having a blast doing it!! Thanks again for the prayers and well wishes!!
Hey Greg, so happy to see your feed back about you Dad, thanks for the update. I know about blood thinners. I had a Heart Valve (Aortic) replaced 8 yrs ago and will be on Coumidin (Warfarin) the rest of my life. I need to monitor my INR weekly. He will be just fine. I use that Polycrylic on all my planes. I use all 3 finishes, depending on the plane. For example on my giant Cessna, and the Otter, gloss and on the Air Tractor I used matte or semigloss cant remember. I’ve notice if I got a run (I put mine on thicker then you) I just use a paper towel wipe it off, you’ll never see it when it dries. Thanks again Danny
WOW, this is a very special video. Thanks again for sending me the link. Your Dad is fortunate you have the medical background that you do. On a lighter note - I know you have been commenting on the current cool weather in Florida. Maybe it will help you warm up to know we are about to get slammed with our first big snow here in Somers, NY on Sunday. Stay well and God Bless.
Any time! And more Prayer is needed he went back to the hospital for the third time with blood count being so low. He is out again but mulitiple follow ups needed. Thanks!
Hi Brad, I use EzeKote from Deluxe Materials (UK) or a friend tried now "Foam finish" of the same brand. This need to be painted with a brush and can be mixed with water too. After a couple of layers the result is a very hard surface in comparison to before. And it may be just around 30g of added weight for my 40-50" planes. How is doing your father? It´s a long time ago... Mine was visiting me from Chile two weeks ago and back in Chile he got 3 bypasses on the heart. Best wishes, Francisco
It may take a little more time, but I paint this clear coat on from a quart can using rubber gloves and a piece of foam rubber as a brush. I can make sure I get the leading edges, tips and places I hold the planes coated. This seems to add neglible weight to the plane. You can feel this coat as much as see it.
It's been a year and a half since this video was made... hope your Dad is still doing well. I'm going to try your technique. I've also seen videos of guys using the liquid version of the product, applying with a foam brush. Do you have a preference of spray vs liquid? Pros/cons? Thanks!
Dad is ok, had another heart attack and another stint. I have moved Mom and Dad into my home to keep them close. I preferer the spray for convince both are good. The liquid is much more economical. But with both avoid too much in the hinges.
Thanks 👍 And yeah I treat it like waxing your car. Its a little bit of protection with minimal weight and work. Dad is back and forth only time will tell. Thanks for the hope though.
Im so glad your dad is doing better, nothing can beat the power of prayer.
Soo TRUE!! Thanks so much!

So you just put one coat on?
Yes just one for now repeat every couple months. It will wear off eventually . some people put on multiple coats but thats up to you.
Hope for your Father, don't care for the minwaxing of planes but it does make them shiny. Great how to video Jeff in LA USA
