  • "Check out this insane custom 1978 Yamaha XS1100 chopper! I built it from the ground up, completely redoing the frame, battery mount, and handlebars. With everything relocated, this radical, low-riding chopper sits just 3 inches off the ground. It's one of a kind and an incredible ride. - Kaleb Woolgar #XS1100 #Chopper #CustomBike"

    Sick ride! I just bought a 1980 1100 and I’m looking for ideas. Yours is a little low for me but I love it!

    First off you bike is sick, I've been looking for over 4 months for something to chop and your bike gave me the idea to get a maxim 1100 (it is the most insane sound coming out of that 4 and the pipes look evil coming out the front like that). I love the proportions, not too exaggerated everything seems "just right" I would love to see some pics on how you did the the rake chop and weld. I'd like to get the chance to pick your brain on some of that build.

    And every time you have even a light curve, you have to go back and pick up the pipes.

    I think I fell in love with the bike just on the growl alone. I use to own a 1986 Yamaha Maxim XJ700, fun bike and was always good to ride. Seeing you build this makes me want to see what I'm able to think on, maybe you can give advice.

  • @d4rkst33l1
    @d4rkst33l1 12 лет назад +2

    If you like the Before better (give me a thumbs up) first pothole, bump in the road, 50mph curb ...you are so toaste !! ..that pipe will catch the ground and spin you to arial ablyss..not to mention that seat ...well trying to be nice but that seat is gonna make that fender eat you dude..also that "custom plate" is illegal as a "carjacking a friggin icecream truck" you cant chop a bike to be lower like that..unless your front wheel is 5sizes too large..even pulling into that driveway..point made

    Looks cool but low riding those pipes around a corner could be tricky and dangerous. Think I would look better with a wider tank since the engine is so wide, and get more range to boot.

      I cut both sides of the frame where the shocks connect, leaving the very front part connected after I cut both sides. I let the rest bend to where I want it and then welded it back up. It kept the bike, true and straight.

Anyway, I guess I come from a "safety first, ride for long" philosophy and not a "safety second, break my neck, never ride again". Ill take safety first anytime.
