    • Some Fun On The Tri-an... W2218 Running With Broken buffers
    Today I take another look at this excellent Wrenn 2218 2-6-4 B.R. 4MT tank loco. Last time I ran it it was missing two buffers, I found a bit of time the other day to sort this out. Today I run it on the Tri-ang Hornby Super 4 Layout with the little Wrenn R1 loco, W2205 that I got running last week. Thanks for watching

      Thanks for looking Martin, Using spare broken drill bits is a great way to fix delicate items back on to the casting if you are able to drill through them ok. Take care, all the best to you

    The Hornby Dublo / Wrenn 2218 ( 2 6 4 T) was one of the best RTR model locomotives ever produced.

      I think I agree, considering this was first issued in the 1950's it's a really well designed item. Best regards to you

    Excellent buffer repair. I like these 2-6-4 tanks. I have a W2246 (CR 2085) which I love. It's probably the most expensive locomotive I've ever purchased. Interested to see the experiment around the Gauss theorem!

      I don't have that excellent variant, it's very nicely detailed version and the blue looks great. I bet it is a favourite of yours. thanks for looking, all the best to you

      @@jimmanyk yes indeed, I notice both the station buildings on the back of the layout have decent clocks on them so I just need to attach a wire and wait for the lightening 🙂

    That must be an early period 1 issue still with the hole in the bunker. Early Wrenn items are very interesting!

      @MrSnooze  Год назад

      Hello I certainly think it is early, it also has plastic wheels on the front and rear bogie, my other 2-6-4's have metal tyred wheels on the bogies. Thanks for looking, all the best to you

    I have had the Hornby model of this since 1958 ,i have just tried to service it its running but niw got to look at either a neo magnet or get it re magnetised .

    • @MrSnooze
      @MrSnooze  2 месяца назад

      Hello, yes if you have a weak magnet they will run poorly. If you cant get your hands on a remagnetiser a neo may help it run better. Thanks for looking, best regards to you

    My Wrenn 4MT tank front bogie sometimes derails on my super 4 track points, is there anything I should check?

    • @MrSnooze
      @MrSnooze  Год назад +1

      First thing I would do is check the back to back, 14.2 mm is what I use. Maybe glue a bit of weight to it to stop it jumping. Thanks for watching, all the best to you
