For those who criticized the dancers: in case you don't know, this concert was held at the colosseum in order to raise funds for the earthquake's victims in Aquila, Abruzzo. So, although it might not please everybody, I would say it is contextualized. Por aquellos tiempos el "Ave Maria" de Shubert me estremecía (hoy igual o tal vez más) tanto que me creía predestinado para la vida religiosa y claro quise ingresar en la congregación, primero de los hermanos lasallanos, luego de los capuchinos. Las misiones y los misioneros golpeaban puertas de las aulas demandaban por vocaciones.
This Ave Maria is attributed to Shubert who wrote it. Shubert was a Protestant and the song was not allowed to be used within the Catholic Church for many years. I was seen as being too much of a feeling type of music so I suppose due to those two factors it was many years until it could be accepted into our liturgies.
