A proud Canadian here. We are freaking out in our own way but trust me when I say, so so many Canadians stand behind you and despair of what is happening to our dear neighbours. We have our own fears but I cannot begin to imagine how hard it must be for you all. I’ve shed tears of frustration and felt helpless and hopeless these past weeks. I cannot eloquently express everything in my heart but know that there are millions of us supporting you and trusting that we will get through this. Love and hugs to everyone ❤️❤️

You need to try to pull back from that a bit. It's what they want you to feel right now, because while you are like this you can't focus or mobilise in anyway. They are sowing the seeds of chaos. Try to ease back, find something to help you feel calmer and look locally for a way to help someone in need, which puts you back in control. Avoid sensationalising media. A lot of my US friends have turned to the UK Guardian news paper and web site for news because the Guardian is fully independent and factually accurate. They take the time to fact check before they run with a story. They are not out to wind people up the way some of the Red Tops do.

I don’t know how I will make it for 4 years. Never in my life (68 yrs) have I ever seen anything like this. Our country is so divided and it truly scares me. The fact that some of my friends and family voted for him kills me. I just don’t know how to navigate that. I love my family but I can’t believe they helped do this.

I am glad you state how you feel with no fear or you do regadless of it. As a Hispanic from Puerto Rico I just appreciate your words. I had nightmares about being pulled over and just asked to be identified and I am from PR for FFS. The fear and hate words they encounter in the street is horrible. Is just nice to hear someone that feels the same way I do. Have you tried Aldi's? I look up sales in the nearest supermarkets and plan the meals accordingly. Whoever does not like what you say they can go somewhere else. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and so are you. Big hugs.
My husband is a teacher at a high school in a low-income inner city area of Southern California. Yesterday was “a day without an immigrant” where immigrants were encouraged to stay home and call out sick to their jobs, etc. Hubby only had like 3 kids show up to every class. Most kids stayed home because most are immigrants or at the least, children of immigrants. My husband and I already have had to have a conversation and made a plan for what to do if he gets arrested for protecting his students from ICE. He will not let them in, he will be hiding the kids and treating it like a terrorist attack if they come to his room. The fact that I have to worry about my husband’s safety as a teacher ANYWAY because of school shootings and now I have to worry about our own government raiding what should be a safe space of a school… I’m not exaggerating when I say I have a pit in my stomach every single day. I’ve been avoiding all my maga family (basically my entire family tbh) and I live in a blazingly red dot in blue California. It’s a very wealthy area filled with cybertrucks, red hats, and rampant white supremacy. But we’re barely scraping by, and I mean barely. Thankfully I had already gotten the ball rolling on cutting back our spending last year and this year we’re doing even more. Not only am I protesting certain stores, I’m protesting by not spending at all. We’re only buying food and things absolutely necessary. If we cripple the economy, things will change. In a capitalist society it’s really our biggest power, the power of where we spend our money - or whether we spend it at all. I’m basically forcing us to live as if the next Great Depression is already here, because in all likelihood if the tariffs actually happen, that’s where we’re headed.
The thing that hurts me the most is how many people I know and loved are still happy about all of this. Coming to terms with the fact that a lot of my family members are absolutely trash humans has been really sad and isolating for me. I have literally no desire to talk to any of them (or to listen to them talk) but I don’t have anyone else. My husband is more right-leaning than I’d like but he draws a hard line when it comes to his students and basic human rights. So even with him I don’t feel a whole lot of comfort. Thank you for being brave and not acting like everything is fine and normal. At least hearing you talk about this makes me know I’m not alone when I doom spiral and that there are other people out there who feel the same way as me. ❤

Food insecurity I know it well, after my divorce I went from 140 lbs. to 99 and started having teeth/gum issues I'm from lack of food and stress. I didn't drive, so that was a HUGE stress, but I learned, and a friend helped me buy a $400 beater to drive; I called someone I met years ago when I worked in a library, and he helped me get a job. So, I'm skinny, I had a car, and I had a job -- I'm good! The skinny part really helped with food because all of a sudden guys wanted to date me so lots of free dinners! That was back in the early 1970s, but I've never forgotten how hard life can be with money is in short supply. After rent and utilities, I had $4 a month for food and/or gas, so that $4 went into the gas tank. As for current events I just made a copy of my birth certificate and put it in my truck so if ICE stops me, I have some documentation that I'm a legal citizen, I worry because I'm Mexican American and you just don't know what might happen.

I was in the army years ago I met my husband and he retired after 20 yrs. We ended up getting divorced and I was suddenly a single mom of three children. 13,10, 9
I never in my life thought I would end up on food stamps, Medicaid and went to food banks. We were car less, homeless.
I would never ever look down on anyone who gets help and needs help!

I have been very upset about what is going on . Our Social Security and Medicare are on the line. Our small military pension and our Tricare is also. We are 75 and 78. I don’t know if I could find a job at my age and my husband has very serious health problems. So, yes I am scared.❤❤❤

Canada always seems like such a sensible country. I've only been to Toronto, but it was beautiful. So clean! Nicely played on the tariffs thing yesterday. I know he's not very popular anymore, but from over here in the UK, I'm going to miss Justin Trudeau. He is everything Trump isn't. But sadly he lost the country, so that's not good. Time for a change. BBC is currently side-barring a piece saying Trump wants to be your head of state instead of King Charles. I mean KC is hardly inspiring, but even I'd stick with him if that were the only options.

He promised to lower grocery prices during his first week, and now he has admitted that they’re probably going to go up because of his tariffs. I really hope that the ones who voted for him feel this the most.

Every day, I wake up and wonder what horrible thing will happen today. Making enemies of our neighbors drives me crazy. I knew this government would be chaotic, but this is even worse, than I imagined. I am not financially impacted yet, but I worry for people like you who are already struggling. So much of the country will be so much worse than it could have been. It breaks my heart! I live near the border with Canada in Michigan. Our country is trying to punish them because we buy more from then they buy from us. We are almost 10 times in population than them. We want/need their products. This is crazy! My family and I are going through a financial situation right now, and my sons school is also a title 1 school and a community school. I thank God for the resources that have come from those programs. There were days when We had nothing in the house to eat but getting the free food and the snack bags from the school has really helped us in so many ways. But I am in a Blue State (MD)

Right leaning politics is also currently in power here.
Clearly at a much lower level, however (our new Prime Minister is a previous failed CEO millionaire, with no worry where his next meal will come from) they came straight out of the gate with a 3 billion tax credit to landlords, yet have made huge cuts to health, public transport, social payments and seem to be unconcerned by the multitude of nurses, doctors, teachers and police leaving to work for double the salaries in Australia as we won't pay a decent wage to these sectors.
It is a hard world to live in if you are someone who believes everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and equality when you grew up believing our leaders were in their positions because they wish to do good for the people of their country.
Not for ego or money or power.

Its gotten so bad I get physically sick grocery shopping every week. I do get EBT but not a whole lot especially with today's prices i have diabetes and eating healthy let alone eating at all is almost impossible. A dozen eggs is over $7 here in Maine. I am a disabled single mom to a Neuro Diverse 15 year old. Between the both of us we depend on SSDI, Medicare, Medicaid and housing and this whole thing is hella scary!
I bought eggs at Aldi's for just under $6 a dozen. Ridiculous!
At the high school my son went to many kids weren’t given lunch or money by their parents. The guidance counsellor said they had a room set up just for those kids to go to. They relied on donations. They could make their own sandwiches with drinks and snacks. I guess as they were older kids they were ignored. As soon as we heard this we started to help. I think all schools need to have some kind of lunch programs. How can a child learn with out a full stomach. I’m glad they have a program at your son’s school.
My husband and I are so concerned about our country and our neighbors. I can not believe the people that have their heads in the sand. I have limited myself to 2 news shows a week because it is not good for my mental health. I stew on things and it affects me. We will ride it out and help where we can and pray that something stops the madness.
Your Christmas tree is same size as mine. What i have done is push branches from back forward, so back end is flat. I tied a loop on back of tree and hang it on my wall. Great space saver,looks fuller and keeps animals from knocking over.

Omg! I think I just found my new best friend! I randomly found one of your videos yesterday where you were talking about how your content started out about health and weight loss and quickly morphed into decluttering and organizing out of necessity. You got my subscription right then and there because both of those categories are like my whole life right now. Then I get the notification that you got this new video up and I'm actually listening to it while I'm panic cleaning my house and I'm not even exaggerating when I say panic cleaning because I literally had the worst panic attack then I've had in a very long time last night and I wasn't sure what to do because when I think of calling 911 I immediately think of the cost involved in an ambulance ride and a trip to the hospital. Part of what triggered my nervous system so badly was everything that you were talking about in this video about what's going on in the state of our nation and world with these popular movements towards all things racist and xenophobic not to mention All those people at risk including people that I love because of the growing expression of ignorance and intolerance. I too am trying to think of ways to be prepared instead of scared and how to organize instead of agonize but it's overwhelming when you're just trying to keep your head above water and afford groceries. I really appreciate your balls expressing your honest opinions and concerns on your channel. If I liked the first video I saw I can easily say I loved this one. Not that I like to have to watch anybody coping with struggle but just because you put it out there for folks to know they're not alone. I happen to be in a disaster region impacted inexplicably like unbelievably like unprecedentedly by that hurricane Helene so that brings to a whole another level my concern about the way the things are going when I know all environmental protections are getting stripped and more severe weather impact is coming for all of us. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us so we know we're not alone and maybe we can find a way to support each other when things get worse. I'm not planning to go anywhere however, I'm one of those people stuck in place not just by finances but by caregiving for elderly, handicapped, broke loved ones so whatever goes down I've got to stick it out. Today I watched as ICE and other agencies stormed various apartment complexes 10-20 minutes away from my home. I did sign up to take volunteer training for a group who shows up when ICE raids are confirmed to help individuals know their rights and to serve as video witness. I don't know what I will end up doing with them, but I don't feel like I can do nothing.

I have been watching what is going on in the USA. Im so sorry. It's so hard knowing that family and friends have voted for this. I'm still so mad about Brexit in the UK that it has affected the cost of food and our relationship with the EU. There are still families in the UK that are divided by Brexit. My thoughts are with you all. You guys are going to have a fight on your hands.
In so many ways Brexit was the forerunner for this mess. It ruined my small business. There's no way back from that. I now have very little income and no business to carry me forward to retirement, which won't happen until age 67 anyway. I will never forgive those who voted for it. It ruined the soul of the country. Those riots last summer were a result of the hatred and anger and "othering" that Brexit caused. I've just walked away from anyone who supported it.

I can barely stand to watch the news anymore. The sight and sound of the criminal in chief literally sickens me. Never in my worst nightmares have I been as unnerved as I am. The past 2 weeks seem like 2 years to me. Why and how did we get here? I say invoke the 25th amendment. We are in danger of the death of our democracy and more unimaginable consequences.
I am from 🇬🇧 and can’t believe what is going on and what uninformed decisions are being made that have a knock on affect to the whole world! It’s crazy 😤🤯😱 I’m also a solo parent and find the cost of living crisis really difficult and can’t actually afford to pay all my bills and food and run a car and all the insurances and phones. I'm Israeli, a good friend of mine was killed on October 7, and Trumps talking about transferring people from Gaza to other Arab countries horrified me. My family was killed in the holocaust. I can't not compare. Anyway, Food prices are extremely high here as well. Everything is the most expensive it has ever been.

You are so right and everything you said. I am a disabled 59 year old female I do receive Food Stamps now for myself. In the past 13 years I was raising my four older grandchildren, my oldest daughter their mom passed away her youngest who's now 19 he was five at the time. The most food stamps that they gave me probably was $200 for myself and four children. Now it's just myself and I live on a fixed income with my disability check. So I was wondering if they were going to try to mess with that with the stamps I don't know. So I'm just sitting back to see what happened because there's nothing I could do anyway. I just got to tighten up on saving my coins. And buy more perishable food items I think I'm going to try and purchase one of those things you have the vacuum seal bag for meats. Therefore they could stay in the freezer longer just in case. Because you are right a lot of the foreign workers they work those jobs and their jobs that some Americans refused to get because of the pay or what not. But if he deport all of them you're right who's going to replace them and it will affect us in some type of way. Have a good day try not to stress. As a Canadian with American friends and family, I am anxious and concerned with the deplorable behaviour of your current government. As a nurse, the social determinants of health influence a great deal of my work and life. Income, education, occupation, employment, housing and homelessness, early childhood experiences, family relationships, and social inclusion- all influence the course of our lives and our health. There is not one area that will not be negatively impacted by the current regime. I struggle to understand their cruelty. I guess the trauma really is the point. As a fan of your content, I applaud your decision making and preparedness, within your capability. I hope the powers that be are able to find some way to stop the madness, or at the very least limit the damage. I also hope Elon is stopped before he makes good on his threats to influence our election as well. Probably wants to make a gift of Canada, and there are some politicians here who would support that for the right price. And as the hetero Mom of a mostly rainbow family, thank you for your advocacy and allyship. All humans should have the right to be safe.

As far as the cat smell, I found a solution for me(I think) . We have had two stray male cats hanging out and eating with our outside cats while marking on our deck. I moved all the food and water outside our front gate for all outside cats. I chase the two strays off the deck. The smell was still there and awful. I sprinkled cat litter (Tidy cat) all over where they have marked and put plastic over that. After two days I removed the plastic and swept up the litter and the smell on the deck was gone. You could really smell the urine in the litter and on the plastic. They have not been on my deck since I did that. I am wondering if that could help with your smelly carpet problem? I used Tidy Cat light because I knew it would be easier to sweep or vacuum up. Just a thought.❤❤❤❤❤

I am a community health worker a Carr coordinator who assists people in navigating community resources that could all go away. It's winter and negative degrees and I know people who are sleeping in the cold and 2 that died. This world is not going to have many good days because of DT.
Grocery prices have been increasing for over 2 years. That is why there is more credit card debt now. People have had to charge their groceries. The new president has been in office for 15 days and is being blamed for the past 2 years. Yes, I voted Red. But I don’t subscribe to hear politics. I can watch the news for that. So I will skip this episode and wish everyone well.
After 2020 I started keeping a little extra food and hygiene and meds. I don’t over buy. I think we should all stay a little prepared.

i am a 74 year old widow on Medicare and live on SS. I have health issues. I am worried about what he will do next. I worked for 45 years of my life, then survived Breast Cancer. Then my husband passed away after being sick for 2 years. He was able to have Medicaid. Thank God, because his medical bills were over half a million dollars. How could people call us free loaders?? Over here in Germany, we will have our elections this February and I suppose my fellow Germans are as blind as many Americans and will vote for a party that will further de-stabilize our country and the world. And most of all, will harm themselves- people are voting for a party that beforehand states in its manifesto what it will do and even though its planned actions will be a disadvantage to them, many voters will vote for this party nevertheless just because they want to protest, vote against the established parties. I am 💙 in a very very red state of Oklahoma, also in fear. I am 70 and for the first time in my life, I am getting housing assistance. I called the housing ofc and asked what my rent would be without assistance, it would almost triple, very unaffordable for me. I am literally sick to my stomach every day. In my town we have homeland grocery, Walmart, and target. I went to homeland and shopped but it is very expensive for me, this week had to go back to Walmart, however I am dropping target and Walmart is for food only, I did have a membership but am canceling that. And giving their politics as the reason. Do they care? Not sure but I have a voice. Keep your voice, use it, continue to be kind 💖💖

As an American, I am been very seriously considering moving to a different country and then I also found out that even if you move to a different country as an American, you still have to pay American taxes every single year. You still have to file your taxes for the rest of your life no matter what country you live in and so that's kind of impacted a little bit because that's just ridiculous in my opinion and it feels kind of illegal. But yeah, still highly thinking of moving to a different country

Hi from Australia. We stand beside you! The things he has already done are horrifying I shudder to think what’s in store there. We have legislated free or heavily subsidised healthcare here. There are also a lot of welfare benefits for people that need it. Also no guns! I have to say despite cost of living pressures here, Australia is so much better.
