India Gate is a war memorial. It doesn’t stand to differentiate the borders between India and any other countries. It stands as memorial to more than 84K soldiers of British India Army who fell down in WWI and Third Afghan War. In addition there is a structure called Flame of the Immortal Soldier (Amar Jawan Jyoti) for the soldiers who served on 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. This is the place where leaders are paying tributes to the unsung heroes.
