Nice review, and matches how I felt riding it at Hood. I think one thing it does great is that the binding positions it recommends are perfect for the boards length, sidecut, and flex, it just feels really balanced and that makes it so easy to carve it. It definitely loves to stay on edge rather than skidding. Wish there was one a little wider but 161 was still great. Have fun in Wanaka dude! - Lindsay
Hopefully next year they make a wide version! Thanks Lindsay!
Please can you teach snowboarding to some random people again i loved that old video
hi kev, nice review.
the board looks awesome but i heard that its rather stiff, like uncomfortable stiff or too agressive, do you agree ?
and also i want to ask you, how the union ultra fits the board?
can't wait to see a long term review of the board!
Where's David btw? he always pops up at some point.
I think he’s in Puerto Rico at the moment
You should do a Capita navigator review bro!
Will try and get my hands on one this season.
Love the review style. Fun to watch you cruising so fast!!!
Thanks! Going try and do a lot more of these this season with different gear and conditions!
First! Hope this board rips
Still think kev needs to ride a mercury *hint “capita” hint*
😂
@@SnowboardProCamp sounds like things are getting crazy hope you and the crew are staying safe!
Hey Kevin, Great review. Love the look of this board and want to get it with some new Union Forces. Only issue is im a at beginner to intermediate level. Is this a plain and simple no recommendation for my level or is there hope that actually with its slightly play full attribute it might actually work? The other option im looking at is either the Burton Process or the Salomon Assassin but im completely torn.
You can definitely ride this board at your level. Great for cruising around the mountain and you’ll use more of the boards attributes as you progress!
Do a review on the YES typo please 👍👍👍
Hey @snowboardprocamp, what size board are you on? Also, what size boot and angles are you on? Trying to get an idea of the width.
Man i need some help deciding between Salomon Craft, Rome Warden, or jones frontier. Im an intermediate rider, mainly groomed, through trees, a bit of carving, a bit of powder if available.
Nice Review. How would you compare to the Super DOA for carving and side hits.
you prefer this or Burton hometown hero can't decide which one I want this year?
How's it compare to the Mercury? Why'd you give up on that? Never saw a review.
The Mercury has a more aggressive feeling camber. Wasn’t my style of board.
You feel the aeronaut has less and easier to ride?@@SnowboardProCamp
how would you compare it to the nitro fusion ?
Sick bruther
How is this compared to the Kazu? I already own the kazu and it seems like these two boards have a lot of similarities. I ended up getting one of these too intended to be a less-aggressive compliment to the kazu
How do they compare? Been thinking about getting either this or Kazu
@@hyppyrotta71
What did you end up getting ?
@@mikeregner4719 Neither since I had a season ending crash. But would most likely go for the Aeronaut at the moment. It seems to be maybe bit more versatile.
@hyppyrotta71
I had to change my riding style a bit for the kazu. It charges hard , however after riding it you could be right.
What size where the ultras you where riding and what size boot? also what size was the aeronaut?
The bindings are medium, my boots are 9.5 and board is 161
Profile on that board looks flat on both sides with traditional camber. Stiff flex on both ends. Does the board feel light in weight in comparison to a mega merc?
It does feel light. The mega Merc is probably lighter.
@@SnowboardProCamp well the Merc use to be Longo number one board. I wonder what changed.
I have the 159 22-23 Mega Merc. It’s a nice board but it isn’t my daily driver. It’s a true twin volume-shifty that really light on weight and it has super sharp edges. I give it a 6 flex. It’s more ideal for jibbing and jumps.
My new daily driver is going to be the Burton 164 3D Double Dog. I want to head back to Nagano for more Japow and Wagyu steaks.
@@Anukuloussorry but the mega merc isnt twin or volume shifted.
@@brianp9268 no you are right, i am wrong. I am in error. I misunderstood something. Ty.
I’m light for my height 6ft about 155lb, i have a 58 custom camber that I use as my Swiss army kinda board, gonna grab a 56 indoor for more park flat ground stuff but im stuck on what size BSOD to get. Im gonna use it as a groomer bomber 60mph style riding and for some pow. I want a wider board but can’t decide between a 161W or a 162 regular. Would you get a 61W or a 62? I want something that’s really stable at speed but can still be really quick toe to heel. I’m gonna be using L Atlas pros with size 11 boots. I was thinking the 61W for more float in pow but just wondering how much response toe/heel I’m going to lose vs a 62
I’d go for the wide. If the want to ride fast and carve the Wide will keep you size 11 boots from dragging in the snow.
do you think I would boot out with the 161 with a size 13 with low boot profile? I like to carve harder but not to the extreme level. btw i ride +18/-6
this a late reply but anything about 11/11.5 and you'll generally want a wide board. the 161 has a waist width of 259mm so the 161 may or may not be wide enough for your boot depending on its profile; 160w would definitely work though
NZ looks so good!
How would say this compares to the DOA?
It’s has some similarities, but the Aeronaut has a more freeride feel to it. Better for pow and carving I think.
The way you tested it, it could be absolutely any camber board and there is no need to buy this new expensive board just because of marketing and because it is a new model.
*Checks flight tickets to NZ*. Holy shit, it's like $2.5k to get there. :(
It’s a chunk of change. I was lucky to have some travel points saved up
This review is rather "mehh", to be honest. Long time sub here. This video feels like you wanted to push it out asap. Where's the love for details and testing it in other conditions
sorry to burst your long-time sub bubble haha but I would not expect a great and reliable review from this channel.
I should have made it more clear that this was supposed to be how the board feels in a run or two. Can give more feedback on the board as the season goes on.
@@SnowboardProCamp Yeah. Maybe call it "sneak peek" of some sort. I know that you cater more towards beginners / intermediates on your channel and more advanced or even expert riders tend to consume other content more. Nevertheless (or all the more), such details are important to your brand. Keep shredding, yeewww
@@gnar_tar You ain't bursting anything, all good. I know this ain't Tribute Boardshop or SearchOfSnowboarding. I wanted to make sure he knows I am not just a random 1 click hater but somebody who cares
