Ah man, after some 20 hours of playing I can say this: I love this amp, its an instrument of itself. Its saggy, squishy, dirty ánd tight. Also very usable at home with the attenuator.
Agreed! It’s been my go to since I got it. It’s also going to be the platform for my boost/overdrive videos going forward! At least for awhile. It’s super fun to mess with!
@@tyrannosaurusriffs yeah and great video btw, looks like you had fun making it. What boost did you use so far? I already had a Maxon OD808 for my Dark Terror and havent looked for a new one yet, it tightens it up nicely in my ears. Later I got lucky again finding a matching 2x12 from 2009, just amazing together😇
@@-LSTR- thank you! I definitely had fun with it! That’s cool you have a matching 212! I miss my Jim root 212. I’ve got 7 boosts/drives in hand. Really enjoyed them all. King in Yellow, Night Terror, TS9, Dirty Tree, SD1, Grim and Direwolf! The grim and night terror are my favorite on it though!
Great to see this amp return. Although I would have liked to get one of these, considering I’ve got a OR100 and a TH30, I can already get the vast majority of the sounds from this amp. I’ve also got a Rockerverb MKIII 100 and a Tiny Terror, so you know, I think I’ve got the whole Orange thing covered. If I can’t do what I need to do with all of that then I’m the problem, not the amps. Now if they want to make a 30 watt version and make it the same price point as the TH30 I may be convinced to get one.
You do have all your bases covered! I was pretty stoked when this came out, more for the price. I think they could have really jacked them up and still sold them out fast. I need to try the OR and TH but I’m really wanting a Jim Root Orange.
@@SearchingForTone I traded mine 2 months ago to keep new things coming to the channel. Only did it since they’re still in production and I can get another. But I have really missed that amp. The Rockerverb was my first orange and it absolutely crushes!
This just made me even more impatient for mine to arrive 🤤 It sounds monstrously thick, huge amounts of low end there. But tightens up pretty well too.
It’s so damn fun! B is the spot for me. I’ve hit it with 6 different drives/boosts and it’s just a blast. Even without them though I enjoy it! Hopefully sooner than September for you!
@@tyrannosaurusriffs ended up arriving last week! Monstrous. Heaps of low end when you really push the volume knob right up without attenuation. Absolutely love it. May need to grab myself some swamp thangs and texas heats for a huge sound so that'll be the next move to make for me.
Dude........I don't know. I love Channel B on this one. But I'm wondering how close a Dark Terror sounds to that Channel B. I also am tempted to buy a Jim Root Terror because it's supposed to be the gain channel of the MKII. Which I love the Rockerverb. I feel like I need 3 Orange's now to compare them all. I think I can borrow a Rockerverb to compare soon though. Maybe. Anyways, long story short......I love Orange.
*If the Dual Dark 100 is out of your price range, the Super Crush 100 is a great alternative!*
I've only heard great things about the Super Crush 100! I need to get one one here to demo.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs Sounds like a plan!

Cool amp, glad you were able to get one and check it off the list \m/

Orange has been cranking out some great products
Some of my absolute favorites!
Awesome amp and Trivium riff!!
Trivium for life!
I agree with you, that channel B right around noon sounds ridiculously good.
Yes! Like just turn it on and play. I love that setting. Super fun with boosts/drives too.
Shout out Casey and OOtO! Awesome dude and amazing ATL band
Hell yes! Of course I had to check them out after finding out that info!
Always Wanted this Amp, Love Orange Amps
I got lucky and still feel that way. I haven’t played a lot of Orange amps but haven’t found one I didn’t like!
@@tyrannosaurusriffs I had to part with my rockerverb 50 couple years ago due to life. Recently just got back into playing, this just ignited some GAS

@@harleyray3058 hell yeah! I’m glad you finally got yours! That was a long wait! It’s such a fun amplifier to mess around with! Tones for days!!!!
@@tyrannosaurusriffs It was a long wait! Snail mail. Well worth it though - such a massive, chunky sounding amp with TONS of low end. 100% agreed!
@@harleyray3058 I’m glad it arrived safe and sound. Even happier that you’re loving it as much as I am!
I also have an emergency credit card for music equipment lol. Used it last week!
They’re emergencies! They’re very real and save lives 🤣
Still don’t own an orange. This or the Rovckerverb MKII? 🤔

Jelly
Brandon but not from the Marsalis brothers and no Winston smoked filters to collect near the rock guys, anymore, uh?! I don't know. Namastè.
Two darks > one dark
