I just found a six year old three hour long video and I watched it all. Lol.
The best part was that there were still three deer just chilling out amidst the cannon fire and explosions when yellow and orange went after red.

I have never played this game, and I have no interest in starting to play it. But for some reason I find these streams immensly interesting and have watched most of them. Though it was time to thank you for putting them up and to say keep up the good work. I am learning lots about build orders what units to use to counter what other units and the importance of timing your backstabs correctly. Some hilarious moments. Not to mention how elite Viper is. Again, thank you T90.

Klavski is so painfully bad at diplo i cringed everytime he started complaining. seriously when the two top scores are teamed up and obviously have the most map control why in the hell would anybody backstab, that would just result in all of them getting steamrolled. to backstab in that situation would basically be to forfeit and he's sitting there trying to tell people that's how theyre gonna win and getting pissy cuz theyre seeing through his BS

Personally I really enjoy watching those long drawn-out games because I feel like it gives the edge to those players that play the diplo correctly rather than setting up eco quick and efficient... If I wanted to watch eco-simulator I'd watch standard 1v1s or 2v2s

Interestingly, saying that to klavskis might've been a mistake, since he started asking "where"; so he probably didn't know what was going on.
Mandela Effect is big in this one. I was damn sure Blue Coffee said "Just passing" when going into purple's base with the cataphracts at 50:29 but instead he said "Just pass"
Between Blue Coffee's mind games, diplo intrigue (like T90 said, he'll backstab you in a second but also call for help if he's being attacked), and general spectator attitude (letting other people tear each other apart while he builds up his eco but tries to keep his score low to avoid accruing attention), he's a very dangerous opponent to ignore. Obviously everyone is trying to ultimately look after themselves, but Blue Coffee takes it a step further. He reminds me of when I play a game like EU4 and I send my subject nations in to do my fighting for me before annexing them. He doesn't even try to hide it, he's like the international general of other people's armies lol 11

Sifflys last push was crazy. He went from 150 military to under 30 in less than a minute. Then resigned. I think that's just the effect of sheer exhaustion, he wanted it to be over already one way or the other.

Shorter trade routes seem way better to me. Yes, gold increases with distance, but so does travel time. When I look up studies people have done, it does not seem to add up to be worth it, such as
"Just did a rudimentary test in the scenario editor, imperial age tradecart.
>30 tiles
83 gold produced in 5:30 minutes
>90 tiles
186 gold returned in 5:30 minutes"
If so, that longer route in that test is making less gold, because the carts travel for 3x as long but only make 2.24x as much. Though I can't find any VIDEOS of tests, so I don't know if they were careful about, for example, making sure the last trip in that 5:30 didn't fall just short or something.
Longer routes are also more susceptible to being destroyed by an enemy getting to one point, whereas 4 shorter routes are isolated like airlocks.

at first i was annoyed by King Marv and Klavski cause they attacked others first, but as the game progressed and they were bitterly fighting against 5 other players and sticking together i increasingly root for them and want them to win!

Life as a trade cart would be so scary. Running across the terrain and land, dodging buildings and battles and arrow fire and projectiles. To bring gold to their master... JUST TO REPEAT IT!
won't gold rush be a good FFA map? it would motivate players to go aggresive a little earlier because the middle is so important. Also king sniping becomes important if you lose middle :D

HD isn't super conducive to casting large scale matches like this. That's why most games are played on the original AoC through Voobly.

Orange could have tried going for a relic victory while raiding yellows trade. That's probably a safer strat than diving for yellows King, but I can totally understand if you don't think of that after an intense 3 hour long game.
I was rooting for Teal to get Robb Stark'ed on the boat, but what actually happened was also very satisfying. A friend of my friend can not be my friend if he is in fact my enemy.
Couldn't Teal have garrisoned in Red's town center? If so, is it an immediate game-over for Teal if Red changes his status to Teal's enemy? Someone knows the answer and I don't feel like launching the game to try create this situation...
