Spent so many years with the Stern show. Working construction in DC sucked but that show was so entertaining. Thank you Artie for making our days a little better.
Artie was in Dirty Work with Norm McDonald and the film was directed by Bob Saget. Out of the 3 of those, who could have predicted it would have been Artie that survived?
If you’ve listened to Howard for many years, watched E!, watched Howard on Demand... you know that Artie is 100,000% dead on accurate with the way Howard changed.
Hanzi had some small strokes of genius in his schizophrenic crack babble 😅. I loved when he would go off on Howard and Robin for being in the illuminati. They did seem to get real uncomfortable when he would bring that shit up
Artie was the best part of howard stern show . TONS of people cheering in your corner Artie ! big love brotha keep fighting for yourself and everyone !
I’m a truck driver and I bought a lifetime membership to Sirius before Stern ever started on Sirius just so I could continue to The Stern Show and I listened to Stern every day for 20 yrs until he started kissing the ass of all the people he used to verbally destroy for all them yrs and I couldn’t listen to him anymore and dropped the Stern show like a hot rock and I don’t even have a Sirius radio anymore. Artie is still funny as hell.
I like that Artie and Robin are still friends. It feels like so many on the Stern crew just completely cold-shouldered Artie, so it's really awesome that Robin never turned her back on him. I understand that Artie was a handful back in those days, but he really is trying to improve himself and get back on the right path.
@@alienbotfarm187 he was being tested regularly and passed them. He's taken himself out of shoe business for now because he doesn't want to relapse. The guy seems to be doing better.
Tex Truman I think the show carried itself up until they left KROCK. Howard actually cared back then...he had to, terrestrial was a different ball game, a lot was at stake and ratings were the be all end all. Once they hit SIRIUS though, it was 100% Artie. He was the SIRIUS years. When he left, the show died.
Howard mocked Imus for being that guy that no one was allowed to say hi to in the hallway. But then Howard BECAME the guy that no one was allowed to say hi to in the hallway
It’s because Howard wants to be know. As the guy who talked to Paul McCartney. And also retards. Not just retards. Because it’s the only thing he didn’t have. He took the easy way
Last year I was lucky enough to open for Artie at Cobbs comedy club in SF. I've opened for pretty much everybody, from Chappelle, to CK and Bill Burr. I've never seen a crowd as enthusiastic and crazy as Artie's crowd. I felt like I was performing at a Raiders game; shit was insane. You couldn't plan to kill, you just hope to manage chaos. It was a blast and Artie and his entire team were absolute class acts. The best.
Artie is legit - thats why everyone luvs him & creepy racist Howard is the hero of all middle aged privileged suburban ish Lib housewives....... Good Luck w/ your career - Bro - awesome memory...... you got serious ballz doing stand up - I''d vomit from fear of failure!
Thats so cool to know this!!! Im glad people still love Artie. I wish he would have came to a place near me, i would have loved to go see him. I think his talent was best on the Stern show. He brought the energy that glued the show together and made it magical. Sad Artie's demons and Sterns ego and greed to be mainstream made him go downhill
Artie also filled a void in that studio that was desperately needed- the blue collar, guys guy, grounded human being. Something that Howard, Robin, and Fred were not. Howard is too narcissistic to ever see or admit that Artie was good for him in so many ways. Artie was relatable to his core blue collar audience, he kept Howard in touch with the real world and actual normal human behavior that wasn’t limos and mansions, and also Arties presence seemed to curb Howard’s gay tendencies and made him reluctant to froth over guys genitals and his trans fascination -all of which started running rampant once his left
As much as I don’t care for Fred I disagree with him not being grounded. He’s one of the only ones I’ve heard call out Howie for his oddities over the years.
It sickening to see what a lefty hypocrite pos stern turned into- massive hypocrite after years of black face, retard, midget, demeaning “broads”, over and over and over even guns, trump, just the Ultimate hypocrite. Guy deserves to be cancelled like everyone else.
Yeah. It will never happen. Howard’s ego at this point is so insane. He wouldn’t care if it was his biggest show. Cause even his average shows make him so much money. And having Artie on wouldn’t just be Howard’s biggest interview but also the biggest thing Artie would ever do. And Howard wouldn’t ever do that for someone who he thinks took his show for granted.
If Howard asked Hillary about Epsteins pee dough Island it would have been huge. But he only gets those interviews because he won't ask those type of questions. Howard has so much money I don't think he cares about getting listeners anymore. He wants social acceptance and he wants a different image.
@@XViTNg Agree. Sterns ego is so off the charts and he lives in his own bubble where he still believe people really like him these days. At this point he has invested in Sirus so much that he gets away and does whatever he wants. NOT on his talent or listening numbers etc.
The Artie years were the best on Howard Stern's show and while the show is funny without Artie, it has not reached that pinnacle again. He was a breath of fresh air and the main reason I followed the show to Sirius Satellite Pay Radio.
@@georgeburns8447 Hey, I’ll have to disagree with you. Artie was the one guy on the show that was real and he brought it to the table. That’s what made him an asset and why Howard hung onto him. He lost control one to many times and ultimately was released from the show. Jackie was funny for his brand of humor but money was more important to him and Howard called his buff. Stuttering John, Jackie and Artie all made bad decisions and probably regret it to this day. I guess we can agree to disagree. Give my regards to Gracie😸
@@georgeburns8447 I've been a listener for 30+ years. I liked Artie on the show...at first. I guess when his addictions got the better of him he turned into such a mean, hateful person. But when Billy West was in studio that was the best era, to me.
It’s called growth, success and wealth.... he went from outcast to “one of the greatest interviews in the business” you think he’s going to reject that kind of adoration?
Stern got rich (no issue there), traded his wife for a model, stopped busting on on the wealthy, famous and powerful and became friends with them. Frankly another example of what some people will do for money, and what that money does to them. I quit Stern 6 year ago. Please take care of yourself Artie.
drewzifer Howard isn't friends with half of these famous idiots. he's doing a radio show you brainless pee on you're worse than Jesse Ventura with your theories. psychopath good riddance go listen to Howard light aka Opie bitch tits radio
this always happens.....look at most musicians......their music is pure and at their best early on......not only because they eventually run out of ideathat arent as goos as early on.....but they get people in their ears talking about giving them more money if they change or they just want that themselves and you change........happens in many ways of life.......but you cant expect people to still love them when they change so drastically......remember how early on howard use to interact so much with fans and for at least 15 years he does nothing for them......he in some wasy was like early punk bands.......he was the regular guy who entertained people and we could relate........then he turned into the clash when they became popular and changed and were no longer average guys who were not about money and fame
Actually the show started it's downturn when he first went to Sirius and they were on 5 days a week LIVE. Then it was cut down to 4 days a week and there was a huge lawsuit for Howard's tapes of all his older shows. Nobody realized why he settled for just the tapes and no money. Well, Boy Gary had plans for these tapes that fucked all you followers who never put two and two together. They went to 3 days a week live and you paid for 5 days! All you got was the stuff we all listened to for 15 years for free! That's when I left.Howard could not continue with his politically correct liberal rich friends out at the Hamptons and trash all of them as he did for years and years. Remember how he lamented that these people hated him? What a joke. No Artie, he is not the best ever anymore. He's become a POS like all his friends.
Bitching about drama in Howards life when he has his own major issues to deal with that are 100x as bad. Artie doesn't like to deal with Artie, just everyone else!!
I don't feel for him, there is a very good reason STERN gave him the could shoulder..and Artie painted himself out here to be a little more reasonable than he really is
@@highgonejhin666 I agree. Artie doesn't get it. Addicts think their redemption story automatically excuses them from all the stupid stuff they did. Meanwhile they forget that the people they are now mad at gave them 3 or 4 chances and do overs. Stern knows that if he gave Artie his old job back he'd be back on drugs within the week. Artie just can't see it
Are you serious right now? This is like one of those things that Howard said and everybody internalized and accepted. His stories were lame and just rambled on and on. He was as bad as Johnny Fratto's story-telling.
I've always loved Artie, I know he's been a liar and a drug addict, but when he left the Stern show, I left it as well. The stern show was never the same.
I loved Artie on the show too but he just couldn't hack it. I don't know what his issue was but I suspect it has a lot to do with self esteem. I think he didn't feel worthy enough to be on the show and fell into a depression that led to alcohol and drug abuse and the rest is history.
Just remember: NO ONE has left the Stern show under anything other than a black cloud. I think that Howard sees people leaving, regardless of the circumstances, as the ultimate betrayal and shuts them out of his life.
I heard Howard talking about the Ellen backlash the other day. His argument was basically dumb down to/ for the most part: "Soo what? She's a mean boss.. Hitler was mean, and a lot of people loved him". 90% of his shows are now him like.. ragging on Ronnie for what he ate for breakfast. Or getting upset that he has a few Nascar friends, or if he's having fun. He just whines (more than ever) like the old Jewish broad he's become.
@@stevecollins9650 Lol eh it was much more than that.. Artie was always the best, and I think helped light a fire under Howards ass. He's still good at interviewing people, but the entirety of his show, and how he treats callers/ people who differ even slightly to his own opinions.. Treating his staff like shit over almost literally spilt milk.. He turns into a bitch. Then you have Robbin, who will just blindly sound like an idiot, agreeing with everything he says.. (but that's not anything new).. You know what, yeah, I do miss the times he had porn stars getting their twats twiddled on a vibrating saddle. 😂It beats hearing Howard going on and on for an hour, about a bagel being missing from the greenroom.
The days when they did the roast's were the best. Shortly before Artie left and the gang was killing it every morning. Artie leaving left a silence on the air that remains to this day...
@@Tony_Cardoza I agree !! Definitely Jackie......plus the amount of things Sal did on that show is epic ! exactly what they are...stories unfortuneatley Artie seems more like a vindictive ex employee rather than someone trying to unearth what is really going on at Howard 100, Artie is mistaken in alot of what he says howard does.
Tell it like it is Artie! You're absolutely right about Howard! Don't ever sugar coat it, no matter what terms you and Howard are on! Some people are not smart enough to see that you took the high road with Howard after you got fired. You spoke out for the ex workers when no one else would. You always own up to your mistakes, no matter how bad, and that's a man right there! You got my respect, stay who you are Artie, UNLIKE Howard!
Artie is a humble guy in the sense that he wont admit that he MADE the show enter its prime. The fact that people remember it as the best time of the show and its...20 years on......think about this....when we were kids in the 80s....Woodstock was 20 years before that.....Artie is a legend.
@@Machiave11i umm yes it absolutely was the best Stern years. They were finally free of the FCC and relentless commercialism that forced 30-40+ minutes per talk hour into commercials. That's 30-40 minutes per hour being mindless, horrible commercials. So you could easily miss the entire show during your morning commute. And then FCC interference further cut everything up and destroyed the content,. YES, the initial satellite days were THE BEST STERN DAYS. If you say otherwise then that means you weren't a true fan or you were too cheap to buy satellite radio when he switched over.
Artie's time on Howard was absolutely the peak of the Stern show. His comedic timing on that show was genius. Unbelievably quick and definitely the funniest kid in class and in the car but gotta admit it pains me to say l I haven't ever laughed at his standup.
Not even close. First, the 90s were the peak of the Stern years. And second, Artie had no comic timing whatsoever. He constantly dragged out "jokes" way beyond their best used by date, and Howard had to often abruptly cut him off. And FYI, today's Howard can go F himself.
My dad kinda stopped turning it on around that time. Also wasn’t too fond of Sirius switch. I spent a lot of time as a young teenager watching this show late night on E! Channel. That was awesome
He was a great addition but he's not the ultimate comedian.. I was just watching the Russell Brand interview they had and I didn't even realize Artie was in the background.. as in as soon as other people with huge personalities used to come to the show he was always quiet.. in my opinion he had the easiest job in the world and still failed 😂😂
Started listening to Stern in late '93. It took about a week before I got it and I've been a fan ever since. The show was really rockin' and then Jackie fucked up his life by leaving, but the show continued on without him. And then Artie showed up. The Artie years were my favourite years. There were so many times when Artie would say something and Howard would laugh so hard and so deeply. It wasn't a laugh that I had heard before when Jackie was on the show. Artie had a unique sense of humor, great stories and an infectious laugh. I really miss those days. Yes, Howard and the show have really changed. I find it almost hard to listen to anymore, except for the musical acts and the interviews. He is a fantastic interviewer. He always somehow manages to take someone that I didn't give a shit about and make them supper interesting. An example is the first Lady Gaga interview. What I knew of her was her penchant for outlandish dress.....crazy outfits and such. I thought she was an untalented empty vessel, like many of the so called musical talents of the day. But she truly blew me away with her talent. Her voice and her abilities behind the piano are amazing. I thank him for that. But again, the Artie Lange years are still my fav.
When Artie left the show, I was done with it. Hung on for about a year to see if Artie would come back but once I realized he wasn't, I cancelled my subscription. Look how Artie was balls on correct about Ellen, we all found out in 2020 what a mean human being she is.
America's Got Talent was Howard's audition to show that he wasn't just his act, and that he could fit in with the rest of the mainstream. Once he passed his "test", everything started to change with him.
Artie was the reason I listened to Howard for several years, he was the best part of the show with his stories and quips and side jokes. Yet he maintained the attitude that he just was one of the several contributors there, no arrogance at all. Love ARTIE forever.
Howard's edge came from feeling disrespected by the mainstream. Now the mainstream kisses his ass and he's satisfied. Being satisfied has ruined the act.
Howard should have retired. He doesn't need the money. He is probably afraid to quit then he would have to be home with Beth full time and she will realize what a dick he is.
Jennifer Timlin Howard’s Howard. He’s an image of God loves by God, like the rest of us. He started out with just brains, balls, and bullshit. Now he’s a billionaire. If you hate him (or anyone else) you’re hating yourself.
5 hours of artie fights. Telling Alice she's a pile of shit with eyes, throwing things at his assistant, dice clay $5k, etc. Now here I am. Miss those days.
I used to be a super fan. Now I can’t stomach Howard. I listen to old shows all the time. I miss what it used to be and I miss Artie. Those were the days.
Howard, like most greedy people, take all the money and leave everyone who helped him get to that level behind. They become out-of-touch with reality sadly. I fully understand what Artie is saying!

Artie Lange was an integral component to the Stern Show for years. When Jeff the Drunk would be on and Artie would parody him in the background, that was the best. No matter what happened between them Stern should be the bigger man and get Artie back on.
These guys don't get it. The reason why Howard did a 180 is once he went to Hollywood he had to face people. No more behind the radio mic. Now he doesn't have the balls to NOT be politically correct while facing the Hollywood crowd.
he used to send John and KC and Gary Garber and others to ask celebs rude questions, now there's no middleman...there may be something to what you said
I know a lot of people dump on Howard out of spite, but I don't see that with Artie. I've always appreciated how honest and fair Artie is when discussing other people.
As someone who still listens to Howard on a daily basis... I'm happy i have the Sirirus app. I can skip the interviews and whining about working 12 hours a week. The prank calls and personalities are still good. I do love watching old Howard tv shows on youtube though, especially when Artie was there. I used to love Opie and Anthony too, and when Ant got fired, I stopped listening. Now there's no Norton either. Opie is kind of a hypocrite with this and frankly I only came for Artie
None can deny the Artie years were the best, and it was for many reasons beyond just Artie being there. We know deep down there was no way it could last forever. The dynamic was too perfect, too funny. But it was so turbulent, so wild. Something had to give and everything has to evolve. I think even if Artie was able to hold himself together and keep that job, the show would have changed all the same.
I recall listening to one of last (possibly THE LAST) moments of Artie on Stern. Stern was ripping into him HARD about his vices in a really disrespectful way even for Howard... *and Artie said something along the lines of "at least I don't have to pretend I don't wear a wig every day."* There was a lonnnnngggg awkward silence, which immediately made apparent Artie just said the worst possible thing on-air he could've (in retrospect, I could imagine Stern muting the mics and screaming his ass off for 5 seconds). And right after that Howard angrily demanded him to leave the studio. Still to this day, I can't find an audio of this clip anywhere... which makes me wonder if it was intentionally scrubbed from the internet. From that day I was done listening to Stern, and I'll always respect Artie.
Wow, would I ever like to hear that clip too. Considering what Howard meant to Artie in his early life, that's the biggest shot he could have took at Wiggy. Yay Artie!
Howard was good to Artie when he tried to off himself, I never heard him bad mouth him on air (at the time). Its too bad Artie never was allowed back for a visit. I stopped listening to Howard several years ago, so I'm not up on whats going on these days. I won't pay for Sirius so I can hear Howard a couple days a month between his many vacations. I miss the old days when Howard was an angry guy and Hollywood hated him/ Now he's one of them.
Should have been an o and a fan with that being said Artie is the fucking king best set I’ve ever seen hands down blows burr norton or anyone out of the water besides Patrice
You're not missing anything. The show is terrible. He's even shackled Sal & Richard for the most part. Bits are now manufactured by the likes of Chris Wilding, Mike Trainor and Jonathan Blitt. All of their bits are terrible. The show is a shell of what it was. It's the type of show Howard would eviscerate even a decade ago.
@@hattorihanzo2275 how is Sal still working there in today's PC cancel culture so many clips of him saying the N word almost every show lmao. I guess when Howard tows the line twitter will question why he has Sal still there and how howard had the Phelps family and Daniel carver on their . Why can no one accept Howard has just gotten old.. He's been doing this shit forever.. Remember the stories you'd here about your parents or grandparents being wild but you could never even imagine it cause you see a nice, calm old man.. The dude is just old... Accept it.. He may have changed, but who the hell hasn't changed over the last 40 years?
It's weird, right? Stern has no reason to do anything other than exactly what he wants to do. Every way the show has changed is 100% because Stern wanted to change the show. What's amazing is that even after working with Stern for years & spending time with him outside of the show, Artie can only think of Stern as the guy he listened to on the radio in the 80's & 90's and not as a real human being. It's no different than if being upset to find out that Sylvester Stallone wasn't really Rocky Balboa.
fuck that...the current show, the PC-ness, the desire for mainstream acceptance, the banning of top contributors. is an insult to what the show was...it's like if Lenny Bruce turned into Steve Allen
The story Artie tells of Robin, Howard and himself in the hospital room is truly heartbreaking in every possible way. 😔 My feeling is Howard genuinely loved and cared for Artie, even likely felt bad that he just didn't know how to deal with Artie's addiction and maybe was even an enabler just by the nature of the situation. Truth is nobody knows how to deal with someone you care deeply for being an addict. You try to help over and over and over and it falls on deaf ears. You want so desperately to help but one day you finally realize you can't, it's out of your hands. It tears everybody involved apart. Heroin wins 99.9% of the time. I also think that experience with Artie played a part in Howard basically doing a 180* as far as his style on air. A kinder gentler approach. I think he felt somewhat responsible (not that he was!) and a little guilty as it just naturally became part of the show. No one here is to blame. The fork in the road finally came and Howard had to walk away... IMO because he did love Artie so much. Artie's a big boy. He made his choices. I wish Artie the strength to one day rise up from the ashes and shine, again.
True that Linda, i think Howard truly care for Artie, but when he left, he felt that he fail with him,, and people around Howard bad mouthing Artie made more difficult for Howard, to want to have anything to do with Artie again, after 2 years of not seeing him,, just saying,,.
Eh, this is a rose-tinted view of it. Doesn't explain Howard continuing to treat others like shit. And besides, it's a common trajectory for edgy pop culture figures; eventually they become part of the elite and lose their edge because they get comfortable.
i dont think he'd do it since artie has nothing to lose. howard likes to be in control and have the upper hand and he wouldnt in an interview like that. id love to see it happen though
People have their reasons for liking or disliking Howard, the old Howard or the new Howard. I posted this awhile back in a MomboMan video... "I lost my father to suicide,my sister to leukemia, and my 29 year old nephew (massive heart attack in his sleep) all in a span of three years. I was sad, angry and (temporarily) depressed. Around this time I was listening to Howard, as I have been since 1985. 33years. He and Robin made me laugh and helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. I'll never leave him. I'm in it to the end." This is still my stance.
No he's not. He's barely a footnote in comedy. You seriously think he ranks up there with Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, and Norm McDonald? Not even close. He's more at the level of Bobcat Goldfwaite.
@spankynater4242 He's a comedic legend TO ME. These types of things are subjective. If I think he's funnier than Richard Pryor (which I don't by the way) then that's MY opinion. People have various tastes when it comes to food, music, comedy, etc. Why would you try to correct someone's opinion? Arguing who's the funniest comic is like arguing who's the best rapper or what's the best food. I can't make Artie a legend to YOU no more than I can convince you that pancakes and hashbrowns is the best breakfast.......and I'm not trying lol.
I agree I was such a Howard fan in the late 90s 2000s but his show and views are so fucking crazy the show jumped the shark years ago. And Howard seems like a person that years ago he would have despised.
Nobody is more happy about Artie talking so openly about Howard than Opie- desperate to remain relevant in the radio world, this was the best radio he will ever have on his new show.
I met Willy Tyler at the Holiday Inn, in Mansfield, Ohio in 1988... he was sitting in the restaurant all by himself after his show there.... it was late at night.... I sat down and talked with him for about 10 minutes.... such a nice guy.
yeah but for me i shut off sirius when its not artie years i still listen to the new shows in the mornings but the replays and sternthology i cant hear it jackie was not funny to me
there are many versions of Howard, the years of skits, the years with Jackie, the years where he relied heavily on wackpackers, the Artie years, the ETM years, and now Howard before he retires, just a plain old interviewer.
Artie Lange does have talent. I thought I was the only one who saw through Ellen’s phony act. And yes--Stern approved every line of Artie’s bit, especially this one.
I still like Howard, but don't listen to him much anymore. I had a similar moment like you when he had Chevy Chase to his show. I remember when he used to ruthlessly clown him on his show, so I was shocked Chevy was coming on his show and was waiting cuz this was going to get ugly and entertaining. Howard proceeded to fawn over Chevy and his career for the first couple minutes so I ended up switching to something else. Couldn't believe the 180 I was hearing.
Cassius71 I think there’s really something to what Artie says. Howard hates everyone because no one would give him a seat at the table. Then he got one and loved it. Doesn’t want to rock the boat. Stern just isn’t entertaining when it isn’t vulgar and over the top offensive. The kardashians are no talent trash monsters who’ve built their careers on an “accidentally” released sex tape. No one should prop that up. It deserves to be mocked. Aggressively. The show doesn’t interest me If that type of behavior is common place.
Oh, so you never got to hear him praise Hillary fucking Clinton. I'm still trying to figure out how he could talk with his tongue up her ass. That did it for me. Subscription canceled.
I've listened to Howard for years but in my opinion, people are lying to themselves if they think the show is as good as it used to be. Howard is out of touch. Personally I can't listen anymore. He'll always be the greatest, but I'm done.

Howard has sold out and become what he used to make fun of BUT as far as Artie Lange is concerned the guy is responsible for his own self-destruction. That isn't on Stern.
He should literally dye his hair. Even today he would look so much better, even with the nose. But at least he has trimmed his hair more recently (before is recent disappearance). Seeing his long, wild grey hair made him look like a half-crazed wino waking up on a stoop at the Bowery
Jason Lopez Is it possible to have an anarchic edge when you're in your 60s? When you've got it you can only lose it. And then when you have to adapt for the AGT dollar, there can be no edge. It was all old and repetitive by the 00's anyway.
Jason Lopez It's hard being a 73-year old rebel. What he gonna do, not wear adult diapers in protest against the establishment and smell like he means it?
John Waters said he couldn't picture himself making movies about colostomy bags when he was 60. This was 10 yrs after Pink Flamingos when he had been knocked for releasing the comparatively tame Polyester. Its like that...
Stern had two great eras... the Billy West/Jackie Years and Artie Early Sirius Years. Now he's a joke. He's literally become everything he always hated and talked shit about. He worse than Imus.. he's an Imus imitator.
Thats how you sum up the Howard Stern show for the 25+ years leading up to now? Its painfully obvious that you are a recent Stern fan...you didn't listen to him in the 90's or early 00's. Everything you just said amounted to 1% of the show.

One of the fastest 38 minutes of my life. Artie makes it so easy to pay attention to his stories.
Because he tells the truth... that's my gut feeling

I like that Artie and Robin are still friends. It feels like so many on the Stern crew just completely cold-shouldered Artie, so it's really awesome that Robin never turned her back on him. I understand that Artie was a handful back in those days, but he really is trying to improve himself and get back on the right path.

White Boy with a Father and the Spin
Artie also filled a void in that studio that was desperately needed- the blue collar, guys guy, grounded human being. Something that Howard, Robin, and Fred were not. Howard is too narcissistic to ever see or admit that Artie was good for him in so many ways. Artie was relatable to his core blue collar audience, he kept Howard in touch with the real world and actual normal human behavior that wasn’t limos and mansions, and also Arties presence seemed to curb Howard’s gay tendencies and made him reluctant to froth over guys genitals and his trans fascination -all of which started running rampant once his left
Dude, your so right. Like the show would was huge regardless but Arties Era took it to a whole new level.
As much as I don’t care for Fred I disagree with him not being grounded. He’s one of the only ones I’ve heard call out Howie for his oddities over the years.
howard did know how good artie was which is why he hired him
Please, I'm no Howard fanboy, but who in show business isn't narcissistic? That's a prerequisit.

So he says.
If Howard has Artie on today for an hour long interview it would be Howard’s biggest interview
if only Howard had the BALLS he did back in the day it would happen
Artie is a nobody in Hollywood, so Howard has no time for him.

@@georgeburns8447 Hey, I’ll have to disagree with you. Artie was the one guy on the show that was real and he brought it to the table. That’s what made him an asset and why Howard hung onto him. Actually the show started it's downturn when he first went to Sirius and they were on 5 days a week LIVE. Then it was cut down to 4 days a week and there was a huge lawsuit for Howard's tapes of all his older shows. Nobody realized why he settled for just the tapes and no money.

And right after that Howard angrily demanded him to leave the studio. Still to this day, I can't find an audio of this clip anywhere... which makes me wonder if it was intentionally scrubbed from the internet. From that day I was done listening to Stern, and I'll always respect Artie.
WOW very interesting. I'd LOVE to hear that clip. Go Artie :)
Wow, would I ever like to hear that clip too. Considering what Howard meant to Artie in his early life, that's the biggest shot he could have took at Wiggy. Yay Artie!
Howard Stern wears a F'ing wig?????????????
@@bettygrable5035 yup 100 percent
Wow, it probably was scrubbed. Howie has way too much money to be so brittle
Only a matter of time probably why Howard walks in eggshells. Who knows
Howard and Artie is like Jordan and Pippen
@Diss Raps That's not what Artie says or thinks about how Stern treated him.
Clorox Germicidal Bleach Hmmm...George Carlin was still pretty edgy while he was old. It's more an attitude/integrity thing.
Clorox shut the fuqq up
Youth is in the soul baby
fuck that...the current show, the PC-ness, the desire for mainstream acceptance, the banning of top contributors. is an insult to what the show was...it's like if Lenny Bruce turned into Steve Allen
@@OwMeEd also because time provides wisdom
You can always gauge the age of a video by what shape Artie's nose is in. 🤣
if howard did a interview with artie after this, the world would stop during that interview. THAT SHOULD HAPPEN
Maybe one day
i dont think he'd do it since artie has nothing to lose. howard likes to be in control and have the upper hand and he wouldnt in an interview like that. id love to see it happen though
artie actually looks pretty good considering i thought he would be dead by now
hahah, i thought so too. damn, you can actually see his chin.. compare that to some 06/07 footage. ..good for him.
he looks like an Italian grandma who yells at the kids in staten island to get off her lawn.
RC Codes
lolXD
lmao yeah he does look a little grandmaish. same thing happened when fred got older lol
bart4543 Grandma Caprio
Oh has the HS show changed! There a time I wouldn't miss it, now hearing shows like this is the only thing letting me know it's still in existence.
WOW! Just found this, I have always said Artie made the Stern show, without him Howard is nothing. Haven't listened to him in 10 years.
I'm in it to the end."
This is still my stance.
I hung on til early 2018... he was boring me to tears. It was like listening to Rush Limbaugh.
I quit after Artie left also. Howard just wasn't the same anymore.
Artie is a comedic legend...period.
🤣I'm a new Comic and want your OPINION.
Watch my Comic Bombs set and if u lol, please SUBSCRIBE.✌🏾
(Sort by most popular)
Here, Artie looks like the way I always pictured vinny boombatz
Nobody is more happy about Artie talking so openly about Howard than Opie- desperate to remain relevant in the radio world, this was the best radio he will ever have on his new show.
I miss Artie but i miss Billy West the most.
I met Willy Tyler at the Holiday Inn, in Mansfield, Ohio in 1988... he was sitting in the restaurant all by himself after his show there.... it was late at night.... I sat down and talked with him for about 10 minutes.... such a nice guy.
the artie years had way more laughs just not the same
ppl say that about Jackie.. ppl say that about ETM..ppl say that about Hank..ppl say that about E. no era will be happy.
yeah but for me i shut off sirius when its not artie years i still listen to the new shows in the mornings but the replays and sternthology i cant hear it jackie was not funny to me
there are many versions of Howard, the years of skits, the years with Jackie, the years where he relied heavily on wackpackers, the Artie years, the ETM years, and now Howard before he retires, just a plain old interviewer.
that's why Howard was the best. every era was slightly different but still terrific.
90's were the best for howard. he was in top form then
Artie Lange does have talent. I thought I was the only one who saw through Ellen’s phony act. And yes--Stern approved every line of Artie’s bit, especially this one.
She's the worst
Hearing Artie again brought me back to the best years of my life, now Howard and NYC has turned into a shithole.
Artie has been one of my favorite comedians for years. I wish him all the best.
Artie. We all heard you, in real time, on the air, for hours. And for YEARS. That was alllllll you.
I unsubscribed when he interviewed Chloe kardashian and kissed her ass. That's not the Howard I grew up listening to.
M. Wilson no I canceled long before that interview. Maybe 1-2 years before
I've listened to Howard for years but in my opinion, people are lying to themselves if they think the show is as good as it used to be. Howard is out of touch. Personally I can't listen anymore. He'll always be the greatest, but I'm done.
darnellio yea they're all just too old now. He, Robin, Gary and Ronnie are all old and grey now. Sal is a comedy producer now. It's really not that funny anymore
Would have been my last subscription month, but it just auto resubscribed 6 more months.. i'll make a note to see if things turn around.. i really hope they do..
GNJK
Ur not n touch. ASSuming u can make it n2 ur 60z, u DUMB-AZZ, wit ur lame-azz GovernMENTAL appaRATus, gearing-up 2 kill u.... We will c how n touch u r. I don't think u will b n touch, cause ur already disCONnected!
SMH
Howard has sold out and become what he used to make fun of BUT as far as Artie Lange is concerned the guy is responsible for his own self-destruction. That isn't on Stern.
See ya later pal, you’re a loser
Glad this interview showed up on my page. Great interview. No surprize to hear about the Stern freeze-out.
When did Artie transform into Beethoven?
The St. Bernard?? 😁
Now he’s the elephant man face. Rocky. Lol
Lol
He should literally dye his hair. Even today he would look so much better, even with the nose. But at least he has trimmed his hair more recently (before is recent disappearance). Seeing his long, wild grey hair made him look like a half-crazed wino waking up on a stoop at the Bowery
Excuse me sir, he prefers to be called Ludwig
Howard Stern has lost his edge. He became too Hollywood.
Hugh Jazole lol
Jason Lopez show is shit these days . he's everything he claimed he would never be
John Waters said he couldn't picture himself making movies about colostomy bags when he was 60.
Howard's prime was between 1987 and 1992. By '93 the FCC had broken his spirit. Also, when he divorced Allison he became less funny very noticeably.
Artie and Howard were the best! I hope Artie is healthy and sober. 💙
Howard’s a sellout.
