Amazing. When many 80 year olds are sitting in their rocking chair and can barely get around, Roland Martin is out there pushing and launching a canoe to go fishing. Pretty incredible.
Really enjoying your channel got my 13 year old son watching you .. Love seeing you show all these young you tubers how its done Son..... Some nice Florida largemouth bass!
This reminded me of way back in the day maybe 30 years ago, my first boat was a canoe, bass fishing with my friend Mike Shaw who's passed away now, he was a huge Roland Martin fan, we would carry the canoe down the rock bank into Rodman reservoir, I remember turning my ankle when we were carrying the canoe up the rocks when we left. We specifically went to Rodman because of seeing one of your TV shows. It was also the first time I tried a Culprit new penny jerk worm and it was the magic lure especially in that tannic colored water that day. It was a great memory fishing a mysterious impoundment with all the stumps at Rodman. Thank you Roland for showing us all the amazing places and experiences over the years, you sir are a treasure!
I am addicted to your videos. all common sense, honest, and very entertaining! You are an amazing guy and I really enjoy just watching you and forgetting life for a few minutes. Thank you for the escape and entertainment!
Hi Roland I just wanted to tell you I just caught a Connecticut 6 pound black bass on a Arkie jig today, in the beaver pond dams,at my #1 pond .I was bank fishing, I have been watching all your videos and I am saving them in my personal bass video collections God Bless you Sir,I thought of you today and said to myself as I landed her ,and I said Roland would be proud of me❤️From Connecticut to California ,so now I’m home and I’m watching the BASSMASTER Roland Martin, a Teacher,Mentor,Husband,Father,Grandfather ,friend to many ,we love you, your videos really help me ,You impact me in a very positive way for my life, hope to see you in Ct @ Mohegan sun in 2021@the expo, love to hear how you won the Connecticut River Tournament @the Enfeild dams,my name is J,thank you for making me a better Bassman
Roland... I'm 72, been watching you for a long long time. You've provided me a lot of entrtainment over the years, and not your Son Scott and grand daughter are carrying on the tradition. Hats off to you and your wife. I'll be down to the Marina once this Covid 19 stuff is over. Had a couple of nites scheduled and a guide and had to hold off... I'll get there soon. BTW, I have always skulled too but I don't think anyone knows about it now. Used to scull a Jon Boat all over Dale Hollow. I used to be the trolling motor too.
Been a Roland fan since the 70s! Love fishing out of my Grumman canoe. I anchor. Your son Scott is a great guy too. Thanks, always enjoy your shows. Great, honest information.
Thank you so much Roland, for all the videos with directions & instructions for fishing. You catch & release those 7-8 pounders when they would be wall mounts for some of us, ha. I appreciate you, sir!
Another great lesson by the best teacher in the industry. Keep on catching, and keeping everyone entertained. Love that gator chasing the frog, SON was not going to loose that lure.
I look forward to watching you every Sunday!!! you sir are a real fisherman !most of the younger guys don't know what a paddle is... If there big 250 can't get to it they don't fish it 😂😂😎 god bless Mr roland
I've followed you since the 80's, Roland. Keep up the great videos. You never disappoint your fans. I must say though, I miss your intro music. :-) He's a great American fisherman...
I fish from a canoe similar to yours, but don't go as much as I wish. I'd love to come to the Everglades to fish, but not sure if that will ever happen. I get time off being a teacher, but just have to be better at planning. I bought my canoe and started bass fishing after my dad's life-long friend and fishing partner drowned during Hurricane Katrina. I grew up going fishing for reds and trout in the LA marsh on his boat, but don't know the area. My dad stopped fishing after his friend died, so I haven't been down to Hopedale or Shell Beach since.
Hello Roland ! i saw you at bass pro shops 2-3 days ago. i was trying to get your attention but i was finally at the door after waiting in line 45 minutes to get in. wish i could have talked with you and shook your hand. hope i can find you fishing one day. big supporter
I appreciate the videos. !! Keep it up👏 and you dont have to fish by yourself; if ever need someone to fish with (way more than 6ft apart) I'm all for it. Haha Just right up the road.
I went out in the canoe on a camp trip we did but too many beans n beer the night before and i think it vibrated too much noise through the bottom of the canoe cause we didnt catch anything that day.
It would be nice to get lost in the sticks but they won't let us out there .I spent all day driving up and down hwy. 27 from the big O to holiday park and every thing is shut down .
I have a canoe I trap beaver from, and a kayak with a 5 pole rack, each pole rigged differently. I love the kayak for fishing, because a big bass will give me a free ride around the lake. I'm disabled with a fake knee on on leg and a bad hip on the other, so walking is a chore. Figured out a beaver rig I can set in the water, not on shore like most do. It catches better than a bank set anyway, and I can pull a 60 pound Beaver over the side of my canoe. I can stand and lift, but can't walk with weight so I have a heavy duty wagon to transport my catch from the canoe to the truck. Wild meat is better for you. But the kayak is the best for fishing. The lake I go to is 300yrds wide and a 3/4 mile long, with a 20ft to 30ft Lily margin all the way around. It doesn't matter where you go on this lake, there is always a big bass waiting for some plastics to hit the water. Have one pole rigged for punching water lilies to get the big boys in the shade. Love trapping in the winter and fishing in the spring & fall. Now I have to get a bigger freezer. 😁
@@RolandMartinOutdoors it use to be easy when I was young. But when old age threw me a few curves, I had to adjust my strategy if I wanted to keep having adventures. You know what they say? "Old age is not for whimps". 😁
Roland Martin Outdoors those were my dads “secret lure” I use them now as back up if I’m not getting any bites on a senko. For some reason the bass here in central Florida go crazy for it.
Set the example and keep your PFD on at all times, son. I just noticed that far too many of your on water YT videos show you not wearing one. The younger generation is watching. 🎣👀
OTOH, we can tell from the camera movements that there is a cameraman in the boat with him. Plus, the average depth in the Everglades is about 4 feet. So, if Roland really was "deep in the Everglades", like he said he is and he DIDN'T have a cameraman in the boat with him and was alone, he'd have a lot more problems that the life vest wouldn't help him with..........lol.
@@bigc8018 The mansplaining is strong with you. I'm a man that is simply asking RM to set an example for the younger gen (ok, my teen) 100% of the time. Of course I don't expect him to follow my suggestion but it is my suggestion.

Roland Martin is a beast, love the way he pops the hook out by hitting it with his palm. You can tell that man has unhooked a lot of fish.

Hi Roland
I have been a big fan for many years. Have you ever considered a chest or hat cam ?

Hi, I think I know where you are fishing and just curious was this video filmed on the weekend?
Hi Roland! What is the best reel speed to use a swimbait like that?
7or 8 to 1
@@RolandMartinOutdoors thank you master! your videos are great! 👍🏻
Roland, you need to show the artificial bait before you start fishing so we can see how you have it rigged. Thank you.
I got a canoe and like better than a kayak but in winding day it's hard to keep directions
How far are you casting that lure. you're barely flicking that rod, and your lure is going really far.
that micro power pole is the big deal son
$600.00 for the Power Pole!

You sure you're 80? I'm twenty years younger than you and not nearly in as good shape.
Ask roland why his butt grips are so big.
Cush-it rod buts slow me to exert more pressure on the fish without hurting myself!
Cush--it rod butts allow me to exert more......
I'm gonna land that ten pounder 2022 on the frog or whopper plopper
