  • "Ratcheting" is a sequence technique popularized by Tangerine Dream in the 1970s. With the René, TEMPI and Wogglebug we can patch repeatable or probability-based ratcheting in the Shared System.

    Wow definitely one of my favourite examples on the shared system. Super introspective sounding towards the end. Beautiful.

    Wow. Tempi is even sicker than I imagined. Can’t wait for someone to get stock on this system :)

    Great demo on how to achieve this on the Shared System. Definitely more complex than using ratchet feature on my Winter Eloquencer sequencer so I appreciate the walk thru!

    Oh yeah, I can save scales on my René. Totally forgot about that option. MN modules are ace.

    How did you get that string sound?

    • @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC
      @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC  7 лет назад +2

      If you mean the sound that comes in at 2:45, VCO A has sync enabled and is patched through the Optomix, opened by a MATHS function with short Rise and medium Fall. I also ran it through the Echophon to give it a little breathing room.

      MAKEN0ISE yes, that's the one - sounds like karplus strong 👍

      DJ Free I thought so too but knew it wasn’t ... I’ll have to use sync more

      I wonder if this is possible using the clock div/mult of the echophone as a TEMPI work around. I gave every damn module u guys make but not that one. Always wondered if ratchet with no switch was doable

    • @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC
      @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC  7 лет назад

      Good idea! Before TEMPI was released, we used Echophon's clock as a multiplier all the time on demo cases at the Make Noise shop. CV over Echo Time would work in the inverse way from what's demonstrated here (higher voltages = slower multiples/div). - W
