Dark Souls II takes place in Drangleic, a once prosperous land under the rule of King Vendrick, which has fallen to ruin throughout the ages with the raging war between humans and giants, the sudden disappearance of the King, and the spreading of the Undead Curse. Like many others, the protagonist has come to the crumbling kingdom in search of a cure for their crippling affliction, the Curse of the Undead. Dark Souls First Playthrough.

this is my favorite souls collab period! y’all are great.
Just so you know, you can co-op the Dragon Shrine, just not the Dragon Aerie. You can also co-op the DLC as well, try the covenant of the sun if you're having issues since it further increases your co-op range with other sun covenant members.
Matchmaking (whether or not you can see their sign) is determined by how much SM (soul memory, seen at the top right in your status screen) you have. It's the total number of souls you've obtained throughout your playthrough. SM is cut into brackets (like 0-999 SM for instance). You'll want to look up the brackets and see if youre still in Amber's range. Typically you dont have to worry about it if you use the name ring and youre just doing a normal playthrough
Soul memory could be part of it, Amber has done a bit more stuff on her own. I think in this case at least some if it was Amber forgetting she was a little hollowed

Just some FYI bits, the invade at the beginning for Amber was also due to the Lucatiel questline, notice they're both "of Mirrah"
The sorcerer in keep has different dialogue depending on if you're hollow or human, (darker if you're hollow, nicer if you're human) and you can "trick" the quests that make you kill NPCs, you may want to lookup a guide lol
So excited to see all the other secrets being discovered! The lore for the DLCs is absolutely riveting storytelling, highly recommend either piecing it together or watching a vid or two on it!
Emma remember the chest that was there near the solaire knight looking enemy? It has a ring that gives you more health bar when hollow so i recommend you go and get it from Heide's tower of flame!

I know im late, and im sure somebody else has probably said it by now, but if you do all of Lucatiel's questline, which i think is just talking to her in several different locations, with the final spot being in that little shack with the bonfire, then you will be invaded by her brother in that hallway.

I love how you start full on cackling at Aava’s grab attack😂 Dark Souls 2 is the perfect game for co-op, because if you play it yourself you’ll curse its varied bullshit, but when you’re in co-op you just laugh at it with your friend.
This DLC is home to one of the greatest badasses in Souls games and its story is genuinly cool and touching...I can't wait for you to finish it.

It was funny to watch the Alva's fight from your point of view. You 're both fun. I do hope you'll play the DS3 DLCs together.
Don't hesitate to publish such cool montage again. Editing such videos is very time consuming; my motto is the simpler the better: and it was perfect. Plus some people want to re-watch every detail of a playthrough and others don't care but always have the ability to fast forward to the timeline of interest. IMHO, don't lose time by trying to mix your both playthroughs: we could miss a lot.

The forgotten key opens up another door [SPOILER WARNING]
You've already been at that door but couldn't open it before, it's close to the first bonfire in the gutter. It's well worth a visit, I used to go there at the start of my playthrough to get the great at the end of the Gutter, and whatever is behind that door at the start.
For those wondering how, all you need to get there early is the cats ring to jump doen the hole, and a stack of poison daggers from Gavlan in No Man's Warf. At low levels the giants have so much health all your weapons will break before they do.
Just want to say I love this co-op nonsense, it makes me laugh. Hope there's more of it after DS2. I never know which channel to watch these on though.

Something you might wanna do is spend a bunch of souls at Maughlin, the armorer in Majula. His selection starts out fairly poor, but after the total souls you've spent at him passes certain amounts, then the next time you load the area his dialogue will update and his stock expands. He ends up stocking some really solid armors. Nothing like, "oh this armor's busted you've gotta get it," it's just normal good armor. But since you're doing a heavier armor build, the options for stats and fashion will probably be useful.

I commend you emma for using ultra greatswords in these games. most non hardcore lets players i see gravitate towards the faster weapons. and with regards to you missing some of your attacks with your zwei, i believe thats like a unique little mechanic for ultra greatsword class weapons in ds2. you can manually aim while still locked on so thats probably why u are missing sometimes. from what i remember there is an option to change that but i could be wrong.

I always switch back and fourth sometimes I'll watch the same episode on both channels wait untill u guys do the brume tower dlc it's super hard and the Bosses are made for Co-op, been watching both ur guys videos alot lately.
Also there's a coffin in 1 of the rooms with a bonfire that u can get inside and it takes y down to another boss fight.

You two are charmingly naive. The ‘horse required’ is a joke but ominously shaking wagons go all the way back to demon’s souls. Incidentally, if you want a great co-op experience demon’s souls is a good choice: theres NO bonfires except when you beat bosses and the bosses are far easier than the run throughs (except for a couple). The summon system does throw you a nasty curveball in one of the areas though.
