I've been wanting to order these for sometime from County Comm but never got around to it but I see it's a must have, Thank you! Wish someone would some of these as part of a give away. They never go to waste.
This was a good video, CL! If you have kids you can often recover some of these from their school supplies when they have worn them out. Backpacks, purses and all kinds of sporting equipment come with these and you can recover/recycle them with ease. Reuse. You paid for it, so you might as well get the most out if it! I pray God bless you and yours.
I think the video is great!. Not everyone knows everything!. And lots of times, the "obvious stuff" isn't that obvious!...Truly an instructional video for the beginner!
Use an old butter knife heated with a propane torch (or whatever just get it HOT) and cut the paracord at an angle. Cord is sealed and pointy, very easy to work with and no blobs or burned fingers.
yes its justa bit tight, a good tip I forgot to show in this video is to takie a single piece of the iner cord and loop it around the paracoprd, then feed the thin cord through the hole on the sheath or knife and use that to pull the thicker cord through...
they deal mostly with bulk items left over from military contracts, and currenrtly only use UPS groudn so thats just UPS prices...I never have a proboem with shippign since I cant just order one $5 item, lol...
CountyComm needs to offer USPS shipping. *shameless plug for Jeff* But seriously, $9 to ship something like a Pico Widgy or few P-38s makes me cry inside. I would absolutely love to have a few of their products, but I just can't justify spending more on shipping than on my entire order.
making your fingers wet before forming melted end makes it easier and more precise - you can form it for longer. Just lick them (or spit on them - works longer, good for climbing ropes and such). Also, you can roll melted ends between desk and piece of strong cardboard.
The last lock seems useful. I guess if you don't mind it being permanent what you could do is put the semi-melted cord ends into it before they harden and close the lock on them.
I don't melt the ends of the paracord when useing the green style cord ends. It's tricker to feed through the hole but then you dont have to smash it down with the pliers.
Would you believe that in a city as big as Atlanta,Ga there is NOWHERE you can buy cord locks. Want some but refuse to pay more for shipping that the item costs. So, still don't have any cord locks.

This was very helpful and informative .thank you, 👍👍
Thank you. That was a big help. 👍😁
Excellent video, thanks.
I've gotten good results by letting the ends get hotter and then tapping the edges with a hammer.
