Jacob is a cool guy who goes out of his way to make sure your maintenance needs are covered. He personally follows up with you, recognizes you when you return. He, Tanner and Brian are all one of the reasons my go-to dealership now is DFW Honda in Grapevine !!
This team of Pro’s are real deal. No BS. The best! I can’t say enough of the whole team. From the top down. The Principles/Owner, Top flight Sales, Award winning Parts & a huge component is the after sales Service. DFW Honda Powersports in Grapevine Texas sets the benchmark in service! Jacob here is the ultimate gatekeeper. Bar none. And to you Cruise. An excellent job here.
Great company! Employees are spectacular as well. Jacob makes any problem solvable! Tanner is equally great at his job in service. This dealership definitely puts the consumer first. 👏👍
I’m a Harley guy but must admit that EVERYTHING made/serviced by Honda is top notch. I have had 6 Honda cars, numerous Lawn Mowers, generators etc…I will move to Goldwing in another 3-5 years and look forward to the wonderful Honda experience.
Tc, 2025 is Honda's 50th anniversary, you might want to pull that trigger earlier... we are all waiting to see what Honda brings for this Golden Anniversary.
Chris - that was really educational, wow how professional Jacob DFW Honda. Your questions were right on the money, I also liked how transparent and open Jacob was in answering your questions. 👍👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hello Cruiseman, I called Jacob last Friday and mentioned I’d seen your interview and asked about the rear wheels he has available from the trike conversions. He could not have been more helpful and told me he’d go and pick a wheel and request his parts guy to call me to get payment and shipping details. The parts person called me on Saturday and I have a new wheel/tire assy coming my way (NC). You can’t beat the price and reasonable shipping costs. Kudos to DFW Honda for marketing these wheels.
I picked up my wing from them. Great service both in sales and service. There are two Honda dealerships near me but I will go to DFW for any service I can't do myself...
Hi Chris-Enjoyed the Podcast and glad to see you think they are doing a good job at DFW Honda. I had one experience with them back in April of 2024 when our ride group visited Texas. I rented a 2019 Gold Wing from an individual in the Dallas area through an online service called Riders Share.... and on day 2, the bike had a catastrophic rear drive failure as I was coming into Kerrville. I spoke with Tanner that day at DFW Honda to find out about getting the bike back to Dallas and Tanner said they could not help out as they were two weeks backed up within the service department. The owner of the bike came to Kerrville with a trailer. We loaded it up, drove back to Dallas and took it another Honda Dealer (Progressive Powersports). Hopefully, that was a one off - can't help you -- kind of experience. Running a service group is tough duty because you are constantly dealing with challenges. At any rate, glad they seem to be doing well for the Gold Wing community around Dallas. Best regards.
You are absolutely right Mac. Thank goodness I live 9 miles from the shop. I have been going there for 20+ yrs. These guys are super. They understand my high expectation for the utmost in care in the handling my Gold Wing. They have always rendered excellent “customer care” and I appreciate that very much. They have spoiled me. To think of another shop in and around my Wing pains me if ever needed. A leap of faith would most surely be needed. Best to you my friend.
@roadglide It is great to have such a solid dealership to work with. As you know, I have to travel 3 hours to Southern Honda Powersports to get the real dealership experience. I pass about 8 dealerships to get to that place. I would not have it any other way. Stay safe, Road Glide. See you soon!!
A coworker of mine has a 2015 GL1800 that he bought new and he purchased the Honda protection plan. In 2019, he had transmission repaired, which Honda covered under the factory warranty. He has a similar problem with the transmission now and Honda refuses to cover under the extended warranty, saying that it's not a factory detect even though the warranty states that it covers failures which are caused do to a defect in materials. This is clearly the problem
For anyone who used DFW Honda, there dealership is excellent, infact few years ago after complete nightmare with independent shop in Hurst TX ,completely basically mess up my Goldwing ,rang them , came and trailered in for free and sorted it out ,thay are place go to for sales parts service for all your Goldwing needs ,definitely best in this part USA 🇺🇸 Chris Hurst TX 🇬🇧
Agree! Where you at Chris? Let’s meet up. I’m in the neighborhood back behind the legendary Texas Bakery. The guy who bought Cruiseman’s 2018 Gold Wing DCT Tour know each other and we are all neighbors. Closer than you may realize.
I actually live for last 13 years ,Hurst TX originally from Leeds Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧 ,anyway keep meaning to get up join you guys one Sunday morning, for breakfast, but usually I’m riding with guys around the area ,but one Sunday I will definitely come over join you for breakfast
I think we saw you on Hurstview Blvd & making a right on Mid-cities Blvd. You ride a R1250 GSA Rally colors? Then another time, yesterday, Sat my wife & I in the car saw 2 Wings an all black and another Burgundy Wing riding down HWY 26 & Norwood Rd. Breakfast is in Carrollton. That’s 37 miles away. You guys live in Hurst. Is 3-4 Wings going to make a crowd every now & then. 😂
Honestly this interview was like interviewing a politician. His answers were not to deep unless cruiseman pressed to go deeper. I still have little confidence in a dealerships having the qualifications to service our bikes. At $165 an hour there should be qualified people.
Yes it is a lot of money Spline. Do some checking around any metro area Level 5 Honda dealership in any State. You will find labor rates are very close to these. Not cheap agree. As it relates to this dealership at least. You will not be disappointed. DFW Honda Powersports will make it right. Period.
Man, 165 bucks an hour.... that's pretty expensive. Even in Switzerland I pay 85 an hour with a Honda Dealer. But thanks to Cruisemans Videos I don't need them...😅
Good interview. I got some answers to a lot of my questions for my Wing. I haven't liked the conversations with the service manager where I got my bike, but there is a powerhouse dealer about 50 miles from me if I need to have something done that I can't do. Be safe.
Hi Cruiseman, I have an important question that I’d love to ask you…..I am contemplating a 2018 Goldwing DCT. It was one of those impulse purchases for the current owner and he hardly ever rode it. My question pertains to the DCT….is the 2018 DCT technology/experience the same as the 2024 or have there been advancements that would not be present on the 2018? THANK YOU!
@@cruisemansgarage thank you so much. Is it significant enough that it would prevent you from purchasing an ‘18? A ‘24 will cost me $9k more and wouldn’t be a Touring model. Thanks again
Jacob seems nice enough but he should practice to enumerate and describe all the training Honda requires to get their accreditations. He frequently came across like he isn't experienced speaking to people outside his industry. And, I don't mean this as a knock to Jacob or to this particular dealer, but I can't help but observe that he fits the common pattern for motorcycle dealers to hire in enthusiasts from racing background versus people that came into motorcycling later via touring. Speaking from my own experience, I don't feel particularly welcome or like I'm in the right place when I'm in a dealership looking at bikes or parts or clothing and accessories. I personally think this is an area that is a blind spot to dealerships and their general management that isn't addressing being intentionally more comfortable and welcoming to non-riders coming in the first time. That said, if I were in the area I would certainly come into DFW Honda and check them out.
Bob I can attest to DFW's attention to detail and professional service. I've had one of those rear tires they need to sell, installed by them. They fit me in, without an appointment and I was out of there in about an hour. A quality install with no issues. Their parts department is knowledgeable and helpful... calling me when ordered parts come in... and in the ultimate example of customer service... there's free donuts on Saturday mornings :)
When I had the stuck oil filter and did not want to risk damaging my crankcase trying to remove it, DFW Honda got me in quickly and got it taken care of. That was the first time I have used a Honda service department (other than replacing tires) in over 13 years.

What a deal on the wheels. If I had a Wing, I go get one just for a spare.

How much $ per hour is their labor rate ?. I live in Northern California and our only Honda shop went up to $150 a hour. Thanks for the videos.🇺🇸
He said $165 I think.

Glad you are enjoying the videos!
I'd like to know what their cut off is for age of bikes they will work on. I hope shops will continue to work on all GL 1800s for many more years.
I am just guess that this will vary from one dealership to the next.

How do I find a Powerhouse dealer near me?
@@flyboy1ron where do you live?
I’d like to know as well. I live Las Vegas, Nevada
Use this search website. Dealers with the red Honda logo are Powerhouse dealers. powersports.honda.com/find-a-dealer

This is the first video interview Jacob has ever done, so I am sure it was way out of his comfort zone. I think he did well for his first time.
