For slightly over 5K take-it-home price, I'd rather have the base model and use the phone for navigation. Plus the bright color with the silver and blue looks better.
I would keep the TFT still and use the.phone as well. I'd much rather have a dual analog clock without the LCD screen rather than the single.clock with LCD.
did they just smash the triumph 400 out the park..? the biking market has changed.. speed limits coming down.. cameras everywhere... nobody wants a race rep anymore.. this 400-500 section is the place to be i think... i have just bought interceptor 650.. but i think i would have got this 40bhp is enough for me its all about fun now... not bragging/boring people on your top speed Zzzzzzz
I agree if you’re not into defying death or paying large tickets but just want to have fun around the speed limit there is zero reason to pay for a bunch of HPs you will never use
A good sharp review. I took a test ride in Delhi today. I fit so well into this bike being small frame. Very torquey, eager to launch and for sure good looking. Hope it holds up well on long rides and can do a wee bit of office roading, in such case it becomes a good single companion ! Do let me know the performance if anyone has ridden it around 300-400 kms ?

The white and teal/blue wheels and frame one looks gorgeous. Reminiscent of a Ducati 750 SS frame. KTM and husky aren’t really comparable as they will actually be more of a gamble for reliability than RE and an expensive gamble.
One thing I noticed with Royal Enfield in Canada is that their 'budget' bikes, are no where near as budget as they appear based on their MSRP, as the fees their dealerships are charging are double most other brands. I was looking at the Himalayan 450 which is now on preorder here. MSRP was about 500-1000CAD less than the competition, but actual cost once fees were included pushed its price over bikes like the Honda NX500, KTM 390 Adv, Kawasaki KLR650, etc. They wanted almost 1000CAD for freight, and 500CAD for delivery inspection which is utterly ridiculous.
This is where their faltering begins. It's the Dealers. We have 1 BMW eurocycle in Vegas, and that is where the Enfield's are. I despise the dealership pushing the more expensive bikes. Actually surprised they carry Enfield's.
It looks very good. Those three paintjobs in the video looks awesome too. Good price. I always hated off centre dashes. Is it LCD or just too shiny screen? Apart from that, if it has a dark or night theme dash it looks good. Important data is there at a glance. Even riding modes? It must be a success story this bike.
Looks good. Royal Enfield is going to do well with this, just as Triumph is doing with their new 400s. Would like to try them both as fancy something smaller alongside my BMW boxers. Just hope it has enough legroom as I've damaged my hip.
There are great news, the 400-500 cc class is rising. I would also like to try this one. I already rode the new Himi. Drop by to check my content. You may like it. Cheers bro.
Have you considered the Honda CL500 scrambler? Was leaning towards buying The triumph scrambler until I tried the Honda (which looks much better in the flesh than in photos/videos). The twin with that bit extra power and less vibes suited me more. My BMW K1600gt has barely been out of the garage since I got the Honda! 😂
@@pielight7449 I see. You are quite right. I test rode the Honda CL500. You can check it among my test ride videos, but it is quite a different bike, a bit more expensive. Otherwise I just have to agree. A nice looking bike too. Cheers.
The Guerilla is certainly on the shortlist for my next bike. It looks like it will be very easy to maintain and service with the price of parts and consumables being very reasonable. Insurance cost should also be somewhat decent.
I really like what RE has done and how they have progressed since their new, young CEO took the rains. He has truly turned the company around and done his father proud. I am in a conondrum of wanting to spend 250,000bhat/US$7,600 on a motorcycle next year as a gift/upgrade for me here in Thailand. I don't go on long rides, I always ride in shorts and flip flops and I just want something more powerful than the Kawasaki 150 that is my daily bike now (I do have a '99 Husqvarna SM610S that drops oil and has a bad miss and needs to go back to my mechanic). I can get anything from a wonderful used Yamaha MT10 to a RE 650cc twin or 450cc liquid cooled. I had an '89 and a '93 FZR1000 and an "02 R1 back in the states and loved the R1 but for my life here in Thailand now, I keep coming back to this Guerilla450. Maybe for the 2025 model they'll use upside-down front forks like on the Himalayan.
Shame about the looks of the exhaust, though! I know it's the modern look, but the exhaust (at least, to me) is one of the standout features of any bike! This exhaust is just a bit...meh!
How is it more powerful than the Speed 400? I believe the power specs are virtually identical. It also weighs about 30 lbs more and has a smaller tank. Not a fan of the looks, which of course is subjective. But I wonder if they're able to match the really fantastic build quality of the Triumph. I guess there will be plenty more comparos coming along.
@@Trackandshield I suggest you take an actual look at the bike instead of trashing the OEM who built it. There's nothing "rebadged" about it. No matter who builds it, Triumph sets the spec. and the fit and finish is as good as any British built Triumph. Bajaj has also built bikes for KTM and Husqvarna.
Wet weight of speed 400 is 176 kg while wet weight of guerrilla 450 is 185kg so its 9kg or 19.8 ib more heavy or or 4.9% more heavier whilw it produces same hp as speed 400 it also produces 6.25% more torque than speed 400 making it slightly faster on 0-100km then speed 400.
lacking rider aids, if someone needs those on a bike this size they have no business riding full stop, personal;ly with the looks and specs they have nailed it
Nice looking wee bike, odd tyre choice tho and won’t show off handling. Will be first thing that’ll get changed no doubt by owners. Set of MT60RS or super moto tyres or M9RRs would be nice 💡 would I have over a Husky or XSR700? Probably not but will keep Triumph 400 honest and still a good A2 choice. Was hoping for a budget ‘Desert Sled’ which is a bit of a missed opportunity.
They have priced it right and nailed the look. This is gonna be a success in my opinion. Overall there is a lot going on in the 400-500 cc segment. :)

I actually love how this bike looks, seems like the perfect beginner bike. Royal Enfield has been smashing it lately.

There are enough buyers for both the bikes.

Sort of feels like a budget Ducati Scrambler.

I had a triumph for $4k under MSRP, then they put $2k freight fee and $500 inspection. Still under MSRP otd
I have never seen that here in India and a uk as well .

Valve checks on a Honda CB500F are every 16,000 miles vs 3000 miles on this . That seems a little weird .

Good for RE ... I'm more drawn to the Triumphs, looks wise at least. I'm guessing a 400cc comparo is coming - this segment is brimming with choices.
Should i prefer this over speed 400
Why is the rider hanging his knee in the breeze?
Habit
It looks like someone described to the designer, who had never seen one, over the phone a Ducati Desert Sled.
It's befitting cos the RE management almost bought Ducati when it was doing poor sales figures.
In Spain a continuous white line on the road means that no vehicle is allowed to cross that line.
In india its double white line

It's not that powerful to have rider modes.
It's more like normal and more economical mod
Entry level? Beginner bike? ALL MOTORCYCLES SHOULD BE THIS GOOD AND BALANCED.
Who needs a bunch of rider aids with 40bhp?

Have you reviewed any electric motorbikes yet?
Looks good and will be interesting to ride a single cylinder bike but i think the Honda CB500X is serious competition for RE.
Or the unfaired Honda CL500 scrambler with same engine. Had one for around 5 weeks and can't stop riding it! great little bike.
Funny cornering technique...
Looks great, but.... The CFMOTO NK450 is £4300 ATM, super smooth, great sound 270 Deg twin.....
But it is a streetfighter style bike. The RE is a classic roadster style which looks a lot better in my opinion.
Only if it comes with Neo retro design like cb 300r
💯
A movie, not a review
Riding modes on a 39.5hp bike LOL. “Sedate” and ”Glacial” 😂
It has two mode one is normal and other is like a power saver mode so it produce less power and give more range.
It’s lost the Hunters very good looks…what a shame
Ha ha. It’s much better looking than the Hunter
I agree they should have taken the Hunter and just made it bigger
A bigger hunter is otw too i heard dont know how far its true

Can’t disagree more - this is WAY better looking than the hunter! And at a price that makes it really interesting against the competition!
