i havent tried houdini and this is only my second video after i watched a beginner tutorial to houdini and you made me understand everything, great video!
Hi thanks for these tutorials! I'm currently running on v20.5 and when I set the group range I'm not getting the same results as min range 1:36 - 2:17. Any tips?
Questions: Bottom up left to right! WHAT? I had a bunch of questions but that bit of info at the end blast noded my questions away. So new question: wtf is going on in this? I need to really understand on a deeper level because it's not making sense in a way that would allow me to utilize this knolwedge in other scenarios. And I'm not a simulation newbie, just a houdini sim newbie. Is there a video somewhere that explains how this works? Or will I have to watch 50 videos on different pops and dops, until i start to intuitively understand it like some sort of human LLM. Thanks :)
Hello first of all awesome tutorial. I have a question. Can we create an object from particles like this or is there another way of doing that? Like for eg. Creating a car from particles.
i'm dumb, Solution: when merging Popsolver and Groundplane, make sure the Ground plane is first ( on the left ) the the popsolver is next ( on the right ).
Hi Milos, to connect polygons to form lines, first append a Trail-SOP to your particle system, set it to "Preserve Original" and dial in the desired trail length. To this append an Add-Sop, set to add Polygons By Group, "Add" set to "By Attribute" and Attribute Name set to "id". Cheers, Mo
@@Entagma oh, thank you very much for a quick reply! :D however, it didn't seem to work for some reason: i appended all and set as you said, it does leave a trail, but doesnt draw the whole letter/word.. edit: when i crank up the length, it does leave a trail, but in that case all the particles just kinda stay where they were..
@@Entagma hmm, it's the same as I did it. I think i didn't explain what i wanted - on the beginning of the video, origin of particles basically draws the shape of a "5" as it moves. this trail/add network leaves the trail of individual particles. thank you again for answering, keep up the good work :)
Damn underrated this channel is

Fantastic tutorial. Fast-paced and dense with information.
> Houdini in Five Minutes
> Video is 8min long
I have been bamboozled!
Always the best Houdini tuts out there. Thanks for another great one!

nvm, I got it! missed to set the length. Cheers
I love your tutorials, they are really easy to understand :)
When working with houdini, I leave notes in the nodes that link to your videos so I use it as a learning reference as I am learning kind sir
Thank you, tuts like this helps a lot with building up simulations and effects :)
my particles are not interacting with the floor...
Thank you brother. Can you make how to render it in Karma ?
hello i was just wondering that my points arent starting from he begging of the font is there a way to make it start from there

Awesome stuff! Any pointers towards where I can learn how to render sparks like that?
Can u please tell me how I can add lighting texture to it

How can I export this to 3ds max?
I'm on 19.0.622 and for some reason the particles dont collide with the ground plane.

please include the render part T0T
I second this. Nice to have a straightforward tut on setting up particles but would be more useful with showing basics of rendering particles.

Hello, I'm stuck at the group range- it's not selecting any points at all. Using Houdini 18. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Happened with me also. All I did was click on the group node and pressed 'Enter', so that the points on the geometry are selected. It worked.
Thanks! But could you help me? How to do the same speed of appear particles and text?
"grouprange" -> Start ?
Hello. Thanks. I was planning to learn Blender and Fusion 9 as it is free. Can Houdini replace these two programs?
No way, but blender and Fusion are nice programs, don't loose heart.
@@lendltimm9966 Thanks
how are you doing the fire trail at the biginning pls
Just as I set it up in the tutorial. Just rendered them using motion blur. Cheers, Mo
cool, but how to make particles "draw" the lines?

Good tutorial!
Thanks!
very nice....... plllzzz make fireworks tutorial ..plllzzzzzzz ... & your voice is so good
Please. Like this tutorial... Basic example all level rbd dop..
Just dropping in nodes without even stating what each node purpose is ??
