Thanks! I've been happy with my soil building experiments so far. I should dig a few test pits and see what's going on deeper down in the hugelkultur piles.
And deer are certainly a bit of a pain!

It's a mix of my leftover veg scraps, grass clippings, leaves, and bedding / manure from the chicken coop. I'll try to make a video about it this summer as my scrap piles grow
