I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this video!! Loved listenting to every second of all the pre-departure cockpit preparations. I understood them well! It really served to up the level of excitement prior to the takeoff. Please make more of these videos, JustPlanes.
Wonderful ! Liked the detailed flight plan briefing. So well prepared and covered all aspects would encounter. Good communication. The chatter was of course a pleasant one. Beautiful take off and execution of all relevant parameters meters so well prepared. Much appreciable the professionalism of two stalwart cockpit controllers. Absolutely fabulous. Wish you every safe and joyous touchdown. God bless ! Thank you @ Just Plane for sharing this amazing video.
Flew on SAS A340 from SFO to CPH and back in June/July 2018. It was a very nice flight. Arriving in CPH in the morning and arriving in SFO early afternoon which made all the connections very convenient.
The legendary A340 climb performance on display!! @15:53 Stated take off weight was 216 tonnes, these aircraft are certified to 270+ tonnes. Even with at least 54 tonnes margin they still get a hurry up from atc to climb faster! Poor pilots getting picked on. Upside of the hairdryer engines was that the A340-300 was a very quiet plane during cruise for it's time. Went on a few Virgin Atlantic A340-300s and they were a very comfy ride 😃.
This is an *AWESOME* crew, this guys are so cool 😎. I ain't an AIRBUS fan but the A340 Family is one of my favorite of all time, especially the A340-600 damn I love 😍 the A340 If I was piloting it, I won't change fleet to an A350 or B787/777 until they retire the fleet.
I noticed that while taxiing up to the ‘line-up and hold’ neither pilot was using the tiller. Can taxiing be done on these aircraft with rudder pedals?
Man Of Florida This was originally filmed and released in 2014. I remember because I was subscribed to this channel back in 2014 and this particular film stood out to me back then.
it must've been the aircraft letting the pilot know the mic has been pushed for a long time (due to the routing) because he had to push the talk button a second time to finish what he was saying
Maybe he switched to commercial aviation in his late thirties or fourties after retiring from the air force or was looking for a new profession in a completely new field. As such he might not have the amount of hours SAS requires for captain qualification.
@@mattiasandersson4575 Yes i know that, but i think they will do a few short-haul flights for the crew to get used to the A350 before they put it in long haul service. It is expected to arrive in November/December.

Did not expect to see a flight with Björn, that's just awesome!
Yes we filmed a roundtrip to Washington with him. Was great!👍

"Increase climb rate? Errr, we're doing the best we can, sir." LOL.
when i was a bit younger, i use to love that name "COPENHAGEN" it just had a nice sound to it..nice smooth departure..
Ha ha yer and in Danish it’s cold København directly translated it mens by a port because it’s an old treat city.

Is it so for all the A340 family or is a matter related only to the smaller variants with the little engines like the -300?
coming from Bjornpilot channel, great cockpit resources management the captain and the FO. Thanks
The captain has a great RUclips channel and now flies the a350
He got released by SAS for posting on social media. What a shame
@@fsj29 I believe he retired.
@@jr13227 Yeah, but why did he retire? There's no secret SAS wasn't to happy with him posting on Instagram
what an amazing plane.! The A340 was always my favorite plane.
Seeing this outdated cockpit gives me the chills . The interior of the cockpit looks ancient
Todays modern airplanes ✈️ have bigger lcd screens

Good Tool Box Talk with Cabin Crew...!
Looks like a very good crew..Fly safe always..
11:55 heavy startup clearance😂
Kennedy Steve says the A340 is an airplane with 4 hair dryers on the wings.
4 APUs 🤣
This again. It was climbing >2000fpm, with full pax and cargo on a long flight.
The 200/300 yes as they are similar engines to the 737 (CFM56), the 500/600 have much more powerful engines
Thomas Mortimore yer bot the 600 is a lot more heavy then the 200 300
@@jjaus it's not even close to MTOW.
I love the 340 !
I hope you found the chatter pleasant
You can feel the weight of those four stripes on the captain's shoulders, huge responsibility, no wonder he has no hair and the FO is grey 😳
I became gray while still being an FO
Crazy the config 245 TTL, I used to dispatch TCX and the 321's can hold 244 in high density config
No man! Was just getting into the flight. Clip too short. Excellent pilots.
Captain, we don’t have enough thrust for takeoff. (Turns on lav dump). Captain, we have more than enough thrust for takeoff.
Some departure clearance!
Very nice I like very much aviation this is canal very good... I am from Brasil...
Fernando Barbosa channel not canal👍
So as of today neither BA 747 nor SAS A340 are in operation.....Thank you for this video
great Video to watch...
Usual professionism from US controllers! Thank god for cool Scandinavians.
Anthony 1976 How is it so many airplanes don't crash there?! There are some awful atc there or is it same guy all the time?..
I noticed that while taxiing up to the ‘line-up and hold’ neither pilot was using the tiller. Can taxiing be done on these aircraft with rudder pedals?
Yes, but does not give as much turn radius as the tiller
Great video 👍
Whole lot to like here; good stuff!
Surprised to hear the British ground crew guy in Dulles!
Was thinking exactly the same thing. Have skills will travel.
Airlines will send their ground crews abroad sometimes so they dont have to pay a crew rental or something
Love this vid
Clearance controller sounds like he just ran a marathon
Very nice cabin crew.
Super Video
wonderful
Is it just me, or did the previous part of this trip get released a millennium ago?😂

What's that white stuff for around both their headphones?
Enjoy these video... **** I would like to see how they program the Flight Computer .. .*****
why the PF is also doing the comms on ground for clearance ?? same for engines start...why he is NOT doing it ?
Could someone say why they censored the NAT track in the readbakc but not clearance?

why the co-pilot older than the captain? Usually it's the opposite

That's the old business SAS config -- when is SAS going to update the entire fleet?
Lawrence K. Wong this was filmed in 2013. Not sure if they updated their a340s yet.
Lawrence K. Wong their entire long haul fleet got the new cabin now. A350 is arriving in late 2019.
